I Prayed have prayed
Lord, help us to be bold and confident in You. We know that You have not given us a spirit of fear, so embolden us with Your Spirit.

A spirit of fear has covered our nation and also the world.  We witness this each time we tune in to the national news.  Fear of Covid, fear of the possible confrontations with Antifa, fear of an economic collapse, fear of the direction of our nation after the rampant fraud that transpired in our elections, fear of being accused of “hate speech” in the work place, fear of witnessing the “Change America” that would result in the loss of our beloved nation.

We have been blessed in the United States, having lived a life of freedom to worship, to move freely from place to place, to pursue our passions unabated.   Having never faced danger on a wide scale basis, we were not properly trained for spiritual battle.  There was no need for “boot camp” and even if we did study spiritual warfare, there was no real platform to exercise those skills for most believers especially on the scale we experience today.

Keep in mind that for the past few decades after prayer and Bible reading was forbidden in the public schools, we have raised a generation of god-less people. The emphasis moved to the exercise of the physical body and the development of the mind while (remember we are three-part creations), the spirit was ignored and atrophy set in.  When the void occurred it was quickly filled by the enemy.  Longing to have the spiritual dimension fed, we witnessed a growing popularity and acceptance of the occult through Harry Potter, Zombies, and music whose lyrics are not repeatable.  Our people are in need of deliverance, yet it is not a word that you often hear discussed or practiced.

Unfortunately, even in the church there is a fear to speak Truth.  Issues are skirted and left unchallenged and the gospel is no longer the “Full Gospel.”  We use the Bible like a menu in a restaurant, picking and choosing what we would like to enjoy while ignoring those items that are necessary for the building up of the Body.

Now, suddenly we find ourselves living in a war zone with battles on so many fronts it is dizzying.

If you have felt the heaviness of the current age in which we are living, I want to speak FAITH and HOPE into your life.  I will share my method with you and pray that God will give you your own rendition, custom built for you.  After all…He knows your name.

First, I remind myself that F-E-A-R is nothing but False Evidence Appearing Real.  The father of lies drops his false evidence into our minds and tries to convince us that it is real.  How many hours do we spend in the “what if’s,” only to find that none of the scenarios come to pass.  So, I am reminded to put on the full armor of God and especially the helmet of Salvation that covers my mind and my thoughts.

Second, I recount all the times that God has revealed Himself to me in my life.  How many prayers He has answered, how many miracles He has performed and not just for me but for my family, my work place, my city, and my country.  I suggest that you tell the stories to others, especially your children and your grandchildren.  Each time you share a story, your faith will be uplifted and it will bring new life to your family as well.

Third, I review all the promises that come to mind from the Word of God and speak them out loud so that darkness will know it has to flee.  Two that I have used are 2 Timothy 1:7, For God has not given us a spirit of FEAR… and Psalm 23,  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will FEAR no evil for Thou art with me.  As you proclaim them aloud you will find more of them bubbling up. You can also download these prayer guides from IFA that are full of powerful verses to pray and speak aloud: Piercing the Darkness: Combatting Fear by Praying God’s Word and God Will Provide. (Editor’s note: One trick my mother taught me to learn anything is to write it. The more senses involved in learning, the more likely we are to remember. So write these verses on note cards, a journal, anything. Find and highlight them in your Bible. Pray through them. Don’t just gloss over them in a prayer guide–invest the time to make them your own. If you read, speak aloud, and write, you are using 4 of the 5 senses! You will learn them and the darkness will flee.)

Fourth, I remind myself that “I am immortal, until God says I am mortal.  My life as a mortal ended when I was born again and God knows when my service on earth is finished, so FEAR NOT!  This is the point when I am inspired by the movie, War Room.  Get up, move around, and declare, command!  I find that is a powerful way to get out from under a blanket of heaviness.  (I encourage you to watch the War Room movie if you have never seen it.)

Fifth, soak in the Presence of God.  My personal favorite CD is Michael W. Smith’s “Awaken.”  I especially love these lyrics: “…This is how I fight my battles…it may look like I’m surrounded but I’m surrounded by You.” As I listen to this music and memorize the words I find that even in the night time when I am partially awake the words flow as a prayer.

Always remember that this battle is not against flesh and blood but principalities, powers, rulers of darkness, and spiritual wickedness in high places.  You are bought by the blood of the Lamb and He has equipped you to be steadfast and do great exploits.

There is no shame in growing weary.  Even soldiers grow weary in times of battle.  This is not a sprint–it is a marathon.  This war will be won, one battle at a time.  Dust yourself off and take a little R & R and when you are called back into action you will stand ready.

Now go and be dangerous for the Kingdom of God.

Lord You have Not given us a spirt of fear and timidity, but a spirit of boldness and courage. Please help us walk in You and not be fearful. Conquer the spirit of fear in our country and help us to lean on Your Everlasting Arms.

Little by Little since 1963-1965 When one woman Madelyn O’Hara took the reading of The Bible out of the school by the intimidations to those in our government. Then from there it has bee a trickle effect of the enemy taking over our country. I can’t remember the year it was when we sold our U.S.A. to the Chinese government, but it has been a down hill battle since. Now we have a President with a backbone to stand in the face of opposition and he is being slammed. WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TO REPENT AND REALLY SEEK THE LORD FOR HIS DELIVERANCE FROM THE ENEMIES TACTICS. WITCHCRAFT IS VERY PREVELANT HERE IN THE USA AND AROUND THE WORLD.THEY LIKE JEZEBEL ARE TRYING TO TAKE OUT OUR PROPHETS AND DESTROY OUR COUNTRY AND THE WORLD. WE NEED THE EKKLESIA TO STAND UP FOR THE THINGS OF GOD IN AGREEMENT WITH HIS WORD. LET NOT FEAR OF THE ENEMY TAKE OVER YOUR FAITH IN THE ONE WHO CAN DELIVER US FROM THIS MESS WE’RE NOW IN. STAND UP WITH THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD ON EPHESIANS 6:10-20. THIS IS A BATTLE BETWEEN GOOD AND EVIL. WE SHALL TAKE THIS BATTLE BEFORE THE COURTS OF HEAVEN THE MASTER JUDGE AND JURY AND HE WILL SHOW US HOW TO FIGHT. GOD FIGHTS THE BATTLE IN THE HEAVENLYS AND WE FIGHT THE BATTLE ON OUR KNEES. DON’T GIVE UP THE FIGHT OR THE ENEMY WILL WIN AND THAT’S WHAT HE IS HOPING FOR. DON’T GIVE THE ENEMY AN INCH ANY LONGER FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH, STAND STRONG IN THE LORD AND THE POWER OF HIS MIGHT. HE IS OUR BATTLE AXE HE HAS WON WARS BEFORE AND HE WILL AND CAND DO IT AGAIN.

Yes, Amen! Thank you for this. I love it! I am encouraged. I am reminded once again (confirmed) that I need to pace myself like a cross country racer (Remember the Goal was a timely movie for me as well as War Room). It’s time to “take off the gloves.” Lord this is your battle…help us to armour up and continue instant in prayer. Give us the courage of David when he faced Goliath. Not because he was strong but because He had the Lion of ths tribe of Juda on his side. The enemy is a roaring lion but he is NO MATCH FOR THE LION of Juda! YOUR ROAR IS LOUDER LORD! KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!! 🙌🙌👑 Thank you Lord for the victory! YOU WIN! In the mighty name of Jesus Amen!

“Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”
‭‭I John‬ ‭4:17-19 NKJV

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

“For thus says the LORD: ‘We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭30:5‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Excellent exhortation with practical application helps. I bear witness in my spirit that we have indeed entered the season of “men’s hearts failing them from fear of the things they’re seeing around them.” (Luke 21:26) This is very timely! Thank you for sharing.

God has not given us a spirt of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. Oh how we trust you Jesus as there is no one like you. Thank you Jesus for your care and love for your children. I have read the book and we win because you went to hell from the cross and took the keys of death, hell and the grave and have given us the authority of releasing life, heaven and resurrection power. You have given us those keys as your ekklesia. You are the marshall and we are your deputies. We have the star of David deputy badges to carry out your blueprints and assignements. Blessings and peace to America. The kingdom of God is near and here. The leaven of heaven is here to inflitrate America through your ekklesia. Fear must go as you are not welcome here.

My wife and I are retired public high school educators, Cook Co. Illinois. 1974-2012. The spiritual climate changed radically during that time. Our stories were like those of missionaries in remote parts of the world where the gospel was never heard.

“Now, suddenly we find ourselves living in a war zone with battles on so many fronts it is dizzying.”

This statement is very true, we saw it in education, a subtle but slow erosion of spiritual foundations. Now, 40 years later, that erosion is seen in all aspects of our society.

Perfect Love (Jesus) casts out the fear of judgement. The Fear of the Lord is the beginning of WISDOM! And boy, does the Church need Him more than ever!

Great piece and reminder. The Lord would have never given us Armour if we weren’t called to WAR!

      You’re welcome!

Following Jesus in the Public Schools is like a fish out of water! The secret to survival is the Armour of Love and humility ❤. Removed many logs from our eyes during our tenure. In the end, our students knew we were the Real Deal! And everyone needs a Friend to stand in the gap. The Cross can be sweet or bitter. The choice is always ours.

An excellent and needed uplifting words for all of us. Thank you for the encouragement. The body of Christ is in desperate need of words such as this.
A perfect example of the division in the body right now is this. (please read this with a grain of salt handy). I was reading on a CBN News posting yesterday the thread / comment line that followed a particular post. Now I fully realize that there are the infamous “trolls” in this world who feel their sole purpose in life is to “disagree and upset others”. Yes sadly there are “sad people” like that. But what amazes me is those who purport to be a member of the body of Christ commenting from pure political bias or belief with poison on their tongue, ice water in their veins and destruction of those they have been “assigned” to take out. It’s so grievously sad to watch.
Not only are so many millions in the world lost but I sense many within the body of Christ are also extremely misdirected. Viewing the political world without the guidance and conviction of Christ would is equally disturbing when a person is trying to make sense of everything.
Brothers and sisters in Christ – let us be sure to stay truly grounded in Him. Let not others cause fear because we forget who we already are in Christ.
Unity in Christ does not mean we will always agree – especially in politics. But it does mean we know who our Savior is. It does mean we will seek the truth regardless of how it may not line up with our present beliefs. Humility is the first and ongoing step that helps our spiritual eyes open to the truth.
One very important truth that God has taught me in walking with Him for years. God is not constrained by anything. He will use anyone and anything to allow His work to move forward. And God will often use those who sometimes just grate us the wrong way. But God is still God and is on the throne!

Still smiling at the “grating” part…yes, indeed!

May I object with grace. Here is one of your paragraphs. I will comment on your words:
We have been blessed in the United States, having lived a life of freedom to worship, to move freely from place to place, to pursue our passions unabated. Having never faced danger on a wide scale basis, we were not properly trained for spiritual battle. There was no need for “boot camp” and even if we did study spiritual warfare, there was no real platform to exercise those skills for most believers especially on the scale we experience today.
Ahh! But we have “faced danger” many times in many ways and, as I observe, paid little attention to those dangers or just refused to set a standard and lift up the name of Jesus in those situations. Take the one you refer to next, the taking out of the bible in schools: did you speak out to those in authority, especially in open discussion like meetings of the city or county government? did you participate in electing good, Christian candidates to run for office? did you spend hours in prayer pleading with God to intervene in situations beyond your control? did you support with financial assistance those groups outside your church to stand for righteousness in the courts, and all places elsewhere; did you support with your dollars businesses that work against everything that God calls good, like support of LGBT and abortion? There was a “boot camp” and God was the administrator and I think we were AWOL most of the time.

We all have to admit, if we are honest, our lack of working to bring in that “kingdom of God” and righteousness. I know that I have to, even though in various times and places I have done some things, but not consistently.

My husband and I went to a prayer meeting locally, set up to pray for our nation and leaders, yet heard very little about the election, especially in Georgia, and not even noticing the fraud. We were admonished not to be “divided over politics”. Do you think our founding fathers even thought like that?

Division is a normal predicament of life. Let’s recognize that, allow others to differ politely, and go on to find unity. We shall never stop divisions and should not. We are all individuals, made in the image of God and should respect each other, even when we think differently; yet we should, are called to by scripture, to admonish one another at the same time. I do not think the church is teaching this. Rather, it seems to be teaching a kind of conformity that takes away our individuality.

What we should be doing is resisting the devil and all his cohorts and companions, not each other; and at the same time, recognizing our differences. Are we being taught this in our churches? Where?

Another big stinker for me is the lack of asking for forgiveness, first of God for our sins, and then each other when we hold “ought against” each other. Jesus said our own sins would not be forgiven if we do not forgive others. My, that is tough stuff! Repentance is rarely heard. Mostly we point the finger at the world for its ungodliness, as if the world could ever be godly. The more I read the Word, the more I see the huge gap between what I do and what I read.

May our God and Father in Heaven forgive us our sins/trespasses/iniquities and help us to forgive others. A reading of Daniel 9 or Nehemiah 9 would help.

This time is the most important of my life so I respectfully submit my thoughts. Blessings to you Pauline as you continue to seek His Will.

Jesus said “the work of God is this; to believe in the One He sent.” After He had healed the invalid man at the Pool of Bethesda, Jesus found the man and told him, “See, you are well again. Stop sinning or something worse may happen to you.” As well, with the adulterous woman, Jesus said, ” Go and sin no more.” Forgiveness is expected but to excuse sin is not.

I agree with you, we must confess our sins, as “He is faithful and just and will forgive us and purify us from all unrighteousness. But, if we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and His word is not in us.” That is the problem, many of our leaders and those who are the “mouthpieces” of society are liars. We are told “not to let them deceive us with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.”

Because these individuals are godless, we must pray for them, because they are lost, we must pray for them. What we must never do is tolerate sin. “God is intolerant toward sin. “That intolerance sent His Son to die for us. He said whoever believes in Him shall not perish. The clear implication is that those who refuse to believe in Him will be eternally lost. (We must pray that all would) come to Christ today, and pray His Spirit (would) speak to their hearts!” “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise” and continue to praise the Author of Wisdom as I seek His Will.

Amen, Pauline – I believe we are where we are as a nation because we “went along to get along” and have been exhorted to “not judge”. We can no longer do that. Jesus told us in Matthew 7:15-23 that we MUST judge the fruit of other’s lives and warns “Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven” and Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 5:12 that we ARE to judge those who call themselves brothers and sisters in Christ. Also, 1 Corinthians 7:21-22 warns “You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons, too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.” My son was a Bible major in college and explained to me that the first century church made new converts wait 2 years before they were accepted into the fellowship of believers. Believe me, I was a very sinful woman living an empty way of life and I remember what the Lord Jesus has rescued me from……I also know that I must examine myself first and then reach out to others with Christ’s love. But we can no longer just go along to get along. As Ron Kenoly puts it – We are in a war and you’re either on the Lord’s side or the devil’s side and there is no demilitarized zone.

I used to think that reading my Bible (and I have read the whole Bible in a year three different years during the last 10), praying (individually and with others on a regular basis), going to church, tithing, etc. were keeping me on the right track, but over the last couple years God has been showing me that is not enough. We need to inspect ourselves daily to see if we are bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit
It was a shock when I realized that a theologian is not necessarily a Christian. It just means someone who studies the Bible and knows about God but does not necessarily believe in Jesus and receive His sacrifice.
The Pharisees could have quoted their scriptures forward and backward but they rejected Christ.
The Church in America needs to put emphasis on making disciples for Jesus instead of just getting people “saved” because they said a prayer. No one wants to arrive in Heaven and have Jesus say ,”I never knew you.”

What encouragement to read this morning. Touched my heart! Thank you for that.

As we live through this time I am constantly reminded by the Spirit to keep my eyes focused on Jesus…His word…His truth and His promises. Spend more time praying to God than reading about what the devil is doing. Go to Him that is more than able and am in total agreement this is a spiritual battle! Loved the reminder this morning that I am bought by the blood of Christ and he has equipped me to be steadfast and do great exploits. ‘ not be might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord’ Zechariah 4:6..

Keep fighting …keep the faith and keep focused on Jesus!

Yes and Amen!
What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us,

Who can be against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, how will He not also, along with Him, graciously give us all things?

Who will bring any charge against God’s elect (His chosen ones)? It is God who justifies us [declaring us blameless and putting us in a right relationship with Himself].

Who is the one who condemns us?
Christ Jesus is the One who died [to pay our penalty], and more than that, who was raised [from the dead], and who is at the right hand of God interceding [with the Father] for us.
Romans 8:31‭-‬34 AMP
