I Prayed have prayed
Father God, we pray for justice and righteousness in our nation.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Two days ago police officer Derek Chauvin was convicted of murdering George Floyd. This case has captured the nation for almost a year now as those from all political perspectives and races have commonly cried out for “justice.” Within a few short hours of deliberation, a jury of Officer Chauvin’s peers convicted him on all counts.

The reactions have been all the way from Speaker Pelosi thanking George Floyd for “sacrificing his life for justice” to Candace Owens describing the verdict as “mob justice.”

To me this is evidence there is a God. Deep in the hearts of His created, male and female, is the concept of the need for justice. Everyone wants what they justly deserve. People who have been wronged want justice. Victims need justice.

This cry for justice is hardwired in God’s creation. Regardless of the state of our relationship with Christ, we have a need for justice to be served. This is what we see on streets as mobs protest – even riot – they are demanding justice.

We should not be surprised or shocked in what we are seeing, people are acting within the image and passion God placed in his creation. There is a supernatural answer for everything we see in the natural.

For those of us with a biblical worldview, how are we to react to the death of George Floyd and the conviction of Officer Chauvin? How are we to pray?

First, pray for the recognition that solutions to the need for justice and the fight against racism begins with “heart” solutions. The sinful nature of man requires us to look inward toward the heart for any problem. Racism begins in the hearts of individuals, not in external systems. Defunding the police, or a “just let it all burn” approach, is a strategy utilized by anarchists to tear down any authority that protects people. This approach provides no real solutions.

Second, let’s pray the true Church and its leaders speak out in this day about true justice. The social justice movement has highjacked much of the Church, prioritizing cultural issues above soul issues, so we must be clear-minded to biblically pursue justice as an outworking of salvation, not a prerequisite of salvation. Racism is real, justice must be served, but the condition of our souls must be the starting point.

Third, let’s pray for truth to prevail, not mob rule. Fox News Tucker Carlson made a strong statement when he said the message of the jury’s verdict was, “Please don’t hurt me,” meaning the decision arrived at was more of self-preservation than justice. Demographic information about the jury members was released by a Minneapolis newspaper. In this day and age, it is not difficult to determine identity if you have a few key facts. Were the jurors afraid of a verdict other than guilty? Was their verdict tainted by fear?

Amos 5:24 is often quoted in the context of pursuing justice: “But let justice roll on like a river.” But the second half of that verse is usually left out: “Righteousness like a never-failing stream.” The pursuit of justice in our nation must be done in the right way. The pursuit of justice without first focusing on hearts of individuals will fail. Church leaders committed to God’s righteousness must speak out in this day. Justice without truth is not justice. Now is the time to pray.

Intercessor, how are you praying?

Dave, Thank you for having the courage to write this article. I am sorry for the responses written to add confusion and division among God’s children. I began reading when this was first posted, but was too tired to wade through the responses. Father, thank you for intercessors who showed restraint in replies that didn’t agree. Thank You for shining Your light on false pray warriors. Please continue to give insight and clarity to IFA staff for future articles and responses. In Jesus name, Amen

Among other things, my great concern is that ALL lives matter (even though those are “fighting words” in some quarters). I am trying to focus more on the One who really matters and Who loves ALL the lives He created. The George Floyd situation was no-win.

I will not comment on the verdict of the trial, as it was a forgone conclusion for months. My comment is in regards to the behavior of the ‘bad cops’. We could substitute ‘bad cop’ with ‘bad spouse’, ‘bad teacher’, ‘bad you name it’ This isn’t just a ‘cop’ issue. This is a heart issue within all mankind. If the heart doesn’t change you’ll end up with millions of people doing the same thing in one form or another.

The ‘heart’ issue works on both sides. We have the choice to do good or do bad. Walk with Jesus and your heart will have a passion for doing the right thing.

It is difficult in these times when you possess a non-racist heart and white skin that you are a racist and cannot help yourself. We are being fed lies by our own government. We have members of Congress pushing the racial agenda and tampering with the jury. Trying a case like this that has already been tried in the press and in the streets offers little other than mob justice. The outcome of this trial was effectively a lunch mob. A criminal who was high on drugs and resisting arrest died in police custody. Tragic, but was it murder? Lord, we seek your justice. Our country has strayed far from you and we are in perilous waters. We are the brood of vipers your son warned about. Save us from what we have wrought. Give us, our church leaders, and our elected officials the courage to stand up, in love, to invite repentance, forgiveness, and healing to a nation that is being misled by dark forces. Let us lead a revival that brings our counrty out of the darkness. In Jesus name, amen.

I am seeing several comments referring to the conviction for Derek Chauvin as simply ‘mob justice’ by jurors who were afraid and I would like to share another viewpoint. I believe the conviction was actually a courageous act – choosing to hold police accountable for the times they use ‘vigilante justice’ on the streets – hitting, punching or deliberately hurting people they have stopped or think may have possibly committed a criminal act.
While many police are good and treat people with respect, I think there are also police who make their own judgements about people – not treating them as innocent until proven guilty – but instead treating them as guilty and then administering their own punishment for that ‘guilt’ on the street. I believe that the conviction in this case confirmed that cops who act in ways that deliberately misuse their power (kneeling on the neck of someone who was already handcuffed and immobilized, and even after that person became inert) should be held accountable for the outcome of that misuse of power.
We should all want to see bad cops, who are deliberately cruel, be held accountable for their actions. I think the conviction in this case was the only reasonable decision to be made – because even if George Floyd had drugs in his system, he wouldn’t have died that day if someone hadn’t deliberately knelt on his neck, cutting off his oxygen, for more than 9 minutes.
I know many have concerns over what they consider a ‘race agenda’ but I think this specific case was more about taking a stand against deliberate cruelty by those who feel like they are in a position of power and can do whatever they want to someone who has been accused of a crime.
My prayer is that hearts and attitudes about the dignity of every human being would be changed, and we would begin to see these types of misuse of power be stopped, so that no one, of any race, would continue to be hurt by those who want to take punishment into their own hands.

Thank you, Leah, for your thoughtful response. While I agree that there are bad actors in the police, just as I believe there are bad actors in BLM, our government, our political parties, our schools, and sometimes even the church; I believe that is the exception rather than the rule. MAybe I am naive. I certainly respect your point of view and wish to offer an additional perspective.

My concern about juror interference regarding the Derek Chauvin verdict is that there was another video angle presented as evidence that clearly showed that officer Chauvin’s knee was on the shoulder, not the neck, of George Floyd, a man who was high on drugs, this was confirmed by the toxicology report and enough to be fatal. He was also resisting arrest and at 6’7″ tall a much bigger man than Derek Chauvin.

Bad actors should always be punished because, like any bad apple, can spoil the whole barrel. I believe that even before they were at the scene, the officers checked Floyd’s record, that’s standard protocol. At the time of Floyd’s arrest, the officers knew of his violent criminal background.

In 2007, Floyd faced charges for aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon; according to investigators, he had entered an apartment by impersonating a water department worker and barging in with five other men, then held a pistol to a woman’s stomach and searched for items to steal. He later was captured, convicted, and served 5 years in prison. More importantly, during Officer Chauvin’s trial, the coroner testified that there was no damage to Floyd’s windpipe from Officer Chauvin’s knee. So whether or not he was truly guilty, only Derek Chauvin and the Lord know.

To convict someone of a crime, in this case, Officer Chauvin, the standard is that “guilt” must be beyond a reasonable doubt. In this case, it doesn’t appear the prosecution met that burden. Additionally, the prosecution certainly didn’t meet it on all 3 counts.

As to the jurors, I believe they acted as most human beings would. Sadly, they succumbed to fear. Fear that their lives, the lives their families, their homes, and businesses would be in danger because of incendiary remarks by Congresswoman Maxine Waters, and others. She called for greater confrontation – 2 billion dollars in property damage and numerous deaths over the past year – and she’s calling on these rioters to step it up. To what, a war in the streets? George Floyd was a violent career criminal who has been elevated to martyr status (I’m sure every mother in America would want their son to grow up just like him) and a police officer has been vilified. Had George Floyd been white, there would have been no press coverage, no martyrdom, no riots, not death and destruction across the nation. There would have been silence.

Had the trial had a change of venue, or the jurors been sequestered from the very beginning, I would be more willing to accept the legitimacy of the guilty verdict on one or more charges. Considering the very short deliberation, the fact that the jurors made not a single request to review any evidence or testimony or ask any questions of the judge, it appears their minds were made up regardless of what the evidence or testimony might reveal. Derek Chauvin had to be found guilty, they had no other option than to convict. The mob was satiated.

I am not discussing of judging the moral or ethical underpinnings of the jurors, simply the legal outcome. I empathize with the jurors. They were hung out to dry so-to-speak by the judge. They were not sequestered so they had the opportunity to hear every threat being made and they knew the personal danger they were in unless they found Derek Chauvin guilty of all three charges. It is highly likely the appeals and re-trial of this case will be many and go on for years. It may well end up in the Supreme Court. That is tragic because it allows race-baiters and power-grabbing politicians to keep the focus on what divides people rather than what unites us in a spirit of love and brotherhood. For that, I am very sorry. I pray for God’s wisdom and truth to move the spirit of our nation. Too many have turned their face, and worse yet…their hearts, away from God, and for that we are paying a heavy price. We are becoming a nation without love and compassion. This trial was not about justice or even social justice, it was about being forced to surrender our legal system to a mob who have neither justice, compassion, mercy, grace, or love in their vocabulary.

Thank you for your reply. I think we may always disagree on whether the jurors were acting in fear or in courage but I appreciate that this is a space where people can have differing views and not end up calling each other names, which can be rare these days!
I also appreciate that as believers in Christ we are both praying for those who have turned their hearts away from God which is causing so much pain in our nation. I also pray with you for God’s wisdom and truth (and compassion) to move the spirit of our nation.

Praise God. Pray for Nancy Pelosi and all those who feel they have not had justice served. I would suggest that many who pray for justice have dealt injustice out themselves. We should all take a hard look in the mirror as Michael Jackson stated in his popular song back in the day. Many, many, many people do not see black, white, brown, etc. We see a person who either portrays goodness and respectability or not. We have leaders in government who want to divide us to control us and that narrative is getting worn out and holds no credibility. There are a few spouting that endless bull such as Al Sharpton and Maxine Waters who have done little for anyone but themselves. They spew hatred. Or AOC who ridiculously tries to state that climate change is because of racism.
Proverbs 10:14 states, “The mouth of a fool brings ruin near.” This contrasts the speech of the fool with the knowledge of the wise. A fool does not care about learning. He’s too busy talking.

Proverbs 10:18 teaches, “Whoever utters slander is a fool.” The fool will speak poorly of other people rather than be known as an encourager.

Proverbs 10:23 adds that “doing wrong is like a joke to a fool.” A foolish person does not take sin or its consequences seriously.

Proverbs 12:15 says, “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but a wise man listens to advice.” The fool rejects the advice of others and instead listens only to himself.

Proverbs 13:16 notes, “A fool flaunts his folly.” In other words, a foolish person is proud of his wrong actions.

I would suggest that our nation is sick of this. We pray for God’s will to be done. And, we pray sooner than later.

I had a car accident in 2000 and was in the ICU for about a week, mostly unconscious. When I was taken to the regular unit for care, I had a fentanyl patch placed on my chest for pain control. I was very fortunate that my hairdresser friend heard of the patch as the nurses were giving and receiving report. Apparently the patch never made it to the chart and when I never woke up my friend started asking question. As she went to the parking lot to leave for the night the Lord put a check in her spirit and she returned to spend the night. Time passed and I remained unresponsive, finally my friend brought the patch to their attention. Shortly after the patch was removed I went into respiratory arrest and was given naloxone (a drug that reverses the effects of opioids). My friend had to endure my screaming from pain but I am forever grateful as she saved my life. Who knew God would use a hairdresser to save a nurses life! Perhaps police officers could be taught to administer naloxone as part of their training when dealing with opioid intoxication situations such as George Floyd’s.

This was so excellent. Thank you. I could not agree more. Was I the only one that cried when they gave the guilty version on all three counts? In my heart I believed it was given out of fear. I can’t read the juror’s minds. I don’t judge them. But I thought “This is what our country has come too. Mob rule.” The threats by the mob and Maxine Waters’ statements, how can any sane person not think in their head. “They will come after me, my family, my job will be ruined, my home destroyed”. This is the current state of America. My sisters and brothers, I feel each and every day that we are closer to the Lord’s return. I know all generations feel that way. But Jesus said we would see the signs. Nation shall rise against Nation. Nation actually means ethnicities or groups of people. We are seeing that so clearly now. The lines are divided and justice? It is no longer blind. In every area with this Critical Race theory, people will be judged now on the color of their skin, their sex or sexual orientation or identity, their politics, and their worldview. I was thinking yesterday, wow, more than ever dark and light, evil and righteousness is being separated. Can you ever remembeer a time so clear as to where people stand? With God and His truth or with the world and the world’s delusions? My heart hurts for all those who do not know Jesus. The lost. Rascism will not be stopped by more racsism but by hearts being changed by souls being born again. Jesus is the only answers for all sins. And he will come and make all things right. I do not see in any way this world getting better. I’m sorry, but that’s biblical, scriptural and happening right now. The King of Kings is coming soon. Get your heart set on that.

Yesterday I heard someone on the radio interviewing blacks in Minneapolis. He asked them how many unarmed blacks are killed by white cops last year in the USA. Most of them answered, “Over 1,000,” and called it genocide. Before he aired the interview he told his audience the actual number was 13. Later in the day I saw this number on Clouthub to be 46. Which ever number is correct, it far below 1,000. The media is lying to black Americans to make them think this problem is so much worse than it really is. Some of the blacks interviewed in Minneapolis also said they want a race war to make white people feel their pain. The FBI director got me started investigating communism in 1962. I found out in 1963 that the Black Muslims have been planning a race war since 1953. I found out in 1967 that the top leaders of the Black Muslims are really communists. The same super rich people, who financed the Bolshevik Revolution have controlled the media for over 100 years. This powder keg is so hot now that it will take God to stop it. This is why I’m praying for a revival like the one in Argentina in 1953 that drove their dictator out of the country for 17 years.

49
    Vickie Skelley
    April 22, 2021

Yes they have been planning this for a long time. See below link. That is why the communists in DC, and the party is communist because they were taken over by marxism, that is why they have exaggerated everything about the January 6th capitol rally/riot. They have to make conservatives and Christians the enemy. That is what Hitler did with Jews. Propaganda is a powerful tool. They ignore all the BLM and Antifa riots. They let criminals out of jail, they have stolen the elections with corrupted software and foreign assistance, lieing is their daily food. Biden is a fork tongued demon. He will do whatever he can to disarm the nation and divide the people. I also believe Obama is behind a lot of this, behind the scenes. I have said for some time, I believe there will be a civil war in America. I hope I’m wrong, but I believe we are in a war that is like none other. America is at a point in the road she will stand or fall. I pray for America. I pray for my children and grandchild. But the delusions of this nation, atleast half of America are delusional and believe the media lies. Satan wants this nation destroyed so he can rise up the one world order and bring in his AntiChrist. America, Christians and the constitution stand in his way. We live in as Daniel prophsied, the day of knowledge. There is such an abundance with the internet that folks believe whatever they choose. I cannot get thru to some of my family members. They simply choose to believe whatever they want and dismiss whatever does not fit their worldview. How can a nation stand when half of the country believes this way? I believe God will intervene, by taking His bride home and then as it says in Thesalonians the AntiChrist will be revealed. I don’t argue with folks on timing. I leave that up to God. I just go by scripture. We are so very close. This world is not our home. We all my brothers and sisters in Christ should be watching and waiting like the virgins waiting for their Bridegroom. It’s so close. Don’t you feel it in your spirit? God bless.

IFA needs people like you, who have a good understanding of the times, to pray for our nation. Around 1980 I became friends with a man named Des Griffin, who escaped from Nazi Germany shortly before WW II started. When he saw the same things happening here that put Hitler in power, he began investigating. He wrote 2 books about the things he learned. As a Christian, his books have a biblical perspective. Fourth Reich of the Rich exposes many serious things. One of them was Des’ discovery that the head of the Illuminati, Giuseppe Mazzini, & Albert Pike, the head of the Illuminati in the USA, determined that Germany, Japan & the USA were their 3 greatest obstacles to world government under the antichrist. They planned 3 world wars in the 1860’s to destroy these nations. Germany was the victim in WW I, thanks to their puppet in the WH, Woodrow Wilson. FDR was a member of the Illuminati, who forced Japan to attack us using a policy called autarky. Even though they put traitors in control of the WH, Congress & Supreme Court using vote fraud last Nov., they know they haven’t subdued the USA until they murder all of the Christians & patriots. They began planning a racial civil war in 1953 in case infiltration failed to reach their goals. If civil war fails, they will invite Russia & China to invade us in WW III. During the first 5 months after I was born again in 1966, God gave me 5 dreams about the future. The first showed Russians in black helicopters spraying Americans with chemical weapons. The second dream showed concentration camps controlled by Chinese occupation troops. The 3rd & 4th came 2 nights in a row and showed Christians living as nomads in a wilderness to avoid extermination by the antichrist’s execution squads. The 2nd dream climaxed with the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. After we were raptured to meet Him in the air, He put us all into military ranks & led us back down to destroy the antichrist and set up His millennial kingdom. The 5th dream showed a revival God plans to use to prepare us for Jesus’ return. I believe it’s the same revival Corrie ten Boom said would start somewhere at or near where I’m living now. I’m inclined to believe this revival will occur after the 6th seal is opened, but I won’t be dogmatic about that. My understanding of Rev. 6 & 7, and how they cross-reference to Rev. 12, fits the dreams I had. There will be many martyrs during this revival, probably due to civil war & WW III. The last time I taught on Rev. 12 it took me 3 hours to explain everything, so I just can’t do that here. Suffice it to say that I believe biblical revival is possible in the midst of apostasy and in spite of apostasy.

They are all marxist. BLM Antifa. Acorn. Open society. Etc This is the marxist revolution in America copied after the revolution in 1917 in Russia. Divide and conquor. Create stories based on lies. Create fear and get control over the masses. Use them against each other. It is suitable to choose a Barrabas to be a victim and a saint. They, the marxist, hate God and Jesus. I feel sorry for Mr Floyd’s family and they probably deserve the money they got. Possibly the only good thing they got from the father and husband to many. If indeed he did choke because of Chauvin, that is sad, but I wonder what the truth is? Fentanyl is powerful. And he did resist the police and was twice their size. But I pray for Chauvin and hope the verdict will be overturned to a verdict that befits the crime. I have seen footage that was never shown. The verdict does not sit well. I pray for the families. And feel grief over politicians and hategroups and globalist donors like Soros who have no problem with destroying a city, a country, a nation and sacrifice some lives as the ends justifies their means? Lord. I pray for Your will to be done in America, and Your justice and love. Amen

David you stated, “The media is lying to black Americans to make them think this problem is so much worse than it really is.” What number constitutes WORSE in your mind? As a Black Christian family living in Minneapolis, married for 45 years, parents of 7 Black children, 16 Black grandchildren, and 7 Black great-grandchildren, one death of a Black person (or any person for that matter) by a police officer is one too many. Every member of our adult family has been followed by, stopped, pulled over, etc. for trivial reasons. My husband worked a double shift and went to check the mail at our PO Box and was followed for 20 minutes after he left a suburban post office. When the cop finally pulled him over, he questioned him as to what he was doing. He explained everything in detail all the while keeping his hands in plain sight, making sure not to make any sudden movements. Eventually, the state patrol gave him a ticket for changing lanes without signaling. All my husband wanted to do was come home and get some sleep after working a 2-10 pm shift followed by a 10 pm to 6am shift. He didn’t want to have 45 minutes of his time wasted because he “looked suspicious driving an Audi and stopping in an affluent suburb at a post office at 6:15 in the morning”. We call it “Driving While Black”. If you have any Black friends, ask them if it’s ever happened to them. Many will say yes. And, one of our daughters was assaulted by a police officer when she went by the 35W bridge after it collapsed, as many people had. There were many police officer from different agencies out there standing guard. One cop told my daughter she couldn’t be there. She made the “mistake” of questioning why he didn’t say anything to all the others a few feet in front of her. He didn’t like being questioned so he threw her down to the ground, ripped her jacket and grabbed her by the hair, ripping out a big chunk of hair from the back of her head. He also ripped her earring out as well. She was then arrested and taken to jail. She had just left a class at a local bible college (where she has earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree, both with honors). What she never got the chance to explain was that she and her brother drove over that bridge every time they had class at the bible college. She also didn’t get a chance to say that she has two sisters that live on both sides of the bridge; one north of it and one south of it and the one south of it watched it collapse from their apartment window. And whose mom and dad both drove on River Road underneath it Monday through Friday to and from work. And how she went there to pray and thank God that all in our family were spared as we used the bridge on a daily basis. Fatal Force collects data on people who were shot and killed by police and the number in recent years WAS 999. By the way, my daughter sued and took the cop to court who assaulted her. She won her case but her lawyer cost $5000 and she was awarded $4999, which is the most Minneapolis Police pays out unless you take it to a much higher level, which she couldn’t afford. I get so hurt when I see many of the posts on IFA because sometimes I can’t believe we serve the same God! I wish people would walk a mile in someone else’s shoes to see what they feel, hear what they hear and see what they see before you so freely judge!

We as a justice system have “perverted justice”, may the Holy Spirit open our eyes as a nation to truth that while we can repent and seek Our God for mercy. May we pray for our cities across the nation, that peace will come and the message of the Gospel be proclaimed in our churches, let us love one another with a pure heart that his Kingdom will come on earth. We need You Lord, bring revival to the land.

Justice was called for but not served. The Judge refused to have the medical evidence of Floyd’s death being caused by a drug overdose and not by suffocation. That was the key. When truth is blocked from exposure, the result is miscarriage of justice. Then, of course, the choosing of the jury was significant as well. I, for one, do not believe the officer was guilty of murder. I a praying for the officer and his family that God will grant them salvation and peace. Also for other police who will doubtless be affected by this verdict.

Amen. I agree with you. I pray for him and his family as well. He is the scapegoat. I have concerns on how he handled it and why he left his body on George? I do wish he went up and explained himself. I do believe from the video, that there has to be better training for officers. They said he did this before. It is allowed in the book. The problem was Goerge was pleading. It’s a worse case scenerio. It was all on tape. The Officer I believe was guilty of manslaughter of what degree I don’t know. But all three charges found guilty to me means the juriors were scared out of their wits! It was mob rule and Maxine Waters should be removed out of office and tried for inciting violence. But she won’t be. She is on the side of the demons. She has Satanic protection but judgement day is coming. I prayed for her soul.

Lord we all want justice. We are hardwired to want it. Because you are just and we mostly need you and righteousness. Lord, we know that without your wisdom and truth, we cannot know justice. We have become a nation of lawlessness and unrighteousness and until repentance happens we can’t experience justice. Bring us as a nation to repentance, especially your people, Lord. So many lies are playing out in our culture that many of your people have been deceived. Help us to to seek you and to know truth, Lord. Give us hearts of discernment, love, faith and hope–and courage to speak forth truth into a world where it is now considered rebellion! Lord prepare us for this hour. In Jesus name.

At least 25+ years ago God have me a dream: in my dream I was going up the broad staircase in the court house of my town. Coming down the staircase were two police officers, both were white, one had dark hair and the other had blond hair. Right before my eyes they seemed to change— the blond officer started to become very big, mean, angry…a raging bull. He was scary. The dark haired officer became timid and meek. They no longer seemed to represent their true authority.
Then the Lord said to me in the dream, “ this has happened because of the lawlessness of the people.” !!!!

A root was exposed!

I feel that we, God’s people, must examine our hearts first concerning our own lawlessness, as well as pray for our nation concerning lawlessness .

The word of God is already clear about “praying for kings and all those in authority “, I Timothy 2:2.
So we need to be praying for our police officers continually .

May God help us to search our own hearts continually.

    Yes, lawlessness abounds.

    2 Timothy 3:1-7 (KJV)
1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
    4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,
7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

When does “justice” become revenge? I think I would also pray that those in the political arena and elsewhere who continue to stoke the fires of division and racism would be shut down and removed . . . quickly!!

I feel sorry for Derik Chauvin and believe in my heart that he is the victim of injustice in this situation. He may have done some things wrong but I believe in the end George Floyd is responsible for his own demise. Is it my imagination or did the medical examiner say George Floyd died of Phentanyl overdose. George Floyd was passing counterfeit money and was obviously high on video taken in the store. Perhaps it was the clerks fault the he didn’t look the other way when given a counterfeit bill? Have we become a nation of enablers and race baiters? Is there no prejudice being displayed against this white policemen? What would Solomon have said in this situation? A few second decisions made in terrible circumstances have destroyed this mans life and career. George Floyd was a force to be reckoned with, he was high (obviously by his mannerisms in the store), he passed a counterfeit bill, be was strong with an intimidating body build, and he was resisting arrest. This was also not Derik Chauvin’s first encounter with George Floyd. The video is damning but it is circumstantial, it does not tell the whole story! I feel sorry for George Floyd’s family and I pray that the Lord leads them to the path of forgiveness and closure but what about Derik Chauvin’s family? He is the victim of prejudice and racism; George Floyd in this case was the perpetrator. It is a very sad story but I do not see justice.

Well said, even the jurors are victims. There will be more injustice done to the other policemen who were present. Do they deserve being punished? George Floyd killed himself. He was a criminal, drug addict, a thief and law breaker.

I am black and I agree whole-heartedly with you. There are two sides to every story and racism only tends to look at one. You brought up some very good points that should have been examined as well. I pray that the jury will be able to sleep well knowing that they made a decision based upon justice and not fear.

From what I heard, from the judge, and others, there will be an appeal because of Maxine Waters’ statement. I’m praying, because I believe that this is a miscarriage of justice. Fear and mob rule. America is in big trouble. The demons of Hell are in full swing. Romans 1 says that God gives a nation or people over who harden their heart and worship the created rather than the Creator. The last sign I believe is reprobate minds that want perverted sex, rather than God’s design. Abortion, transgenderism and homosexuality and homosexual marriage acceptance and legalizaion are the top signs that America has been given over to reprobates. Also when the enemies from within and without atttack, God has taken His hand of protection off. This is judgement of God. I do believe God will, as He did with the Jews in Goshen, protect his children who fear and love Him. God is faithful. We are in the world but not of the world. But we will be exposed to persecution. Persecution comes because of the word scripture says. For the word. It’s a given. Be strong Believers. Stay true to God. He will never forsake His children. Commit, establish and settle in your heart and mind you will not betray God. Remember Daniel and Mishak and Abednigo in the firey furnace? God was with them. Revelations 12:11 We overcome him (Satan) by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.” Know God’s word, confess it. Psalm 91 is a great one as well, even 92 God bless.

The devil has a hold on our nation and world. There is all sorts of injustice – people not making choices that better situations but making choices to satisfy political motives, voting, stereotyping, racism, power, money, removing history, critical race theory, and on and on. America has leaders who are not working for the people but for themselves and the agenda of communism. I feel the latest election was fraudulent and most everyone knows it. Only our God can come into the hearts of men. It begins with each one of us. We need to review our faith foundations that we learned in Sunday School. I pray that GOD molds me into His image to love my neighbor as myself, and to accept everyone as an equal. I believe in wearing the “Armor of GOD” – breastplate of righteousness, helmet of salvation, shield of faith, belt of truth, sword of the Spirit, shoes of peace. Everyone seems to want to be judge, jury and executioner these days. Only our GOD will be doing this.

[Isa 59:14-15 ESV] 14 Justice is turned back, and righteousness stands far away; for truth has stumbled in the public squares, and uprightness cannot enter. 15 Truth is lacking, and he who departs from evil makes himself a prey. The LORD saw it, and it displeased him that there was no justice.
Can’t have righteousness and justice until truth has been picked up and returned to the public square. Lord help us to sort out the truth and stand up for it.

I am from Minnesota. Floyd shouldn’t have been killed but he was on the wrong side of the law much of the time. He wasn’t able to gain victory over his drug addiction. This trial and outcome set a dangerous precedent. To applaud him as a hero is ridiculous and this coming from our federal government (Pelosi). He is NOT a savior nor a role model. We have only one Savior…Jesus!

Much of crime and its manifestations comes from fatherlessness. All you need to do is look at statistics. A spiritual revival and reformation is needed on local, state and national levels. God help us.

“I sought the Lord and He heard me and delivered me…Ps. 34” Lord, we humbly ask for your deliverance. We are not able to tackle and gain victory over this sensitive topic on our own. Please forgive us. Mob rule will become the norm if you don’t divinely intervene. Raise up fathers (and mothers) who truly reflect you and are willing to step in and father those who are believing lies about who you are and what you’re able to do.

Heavenly Father I pray for justice and righteousness in our nation. I pray also for our law enforcement officials. I pray also that You would protect them and give them encouragement at this time. I also pray that the Church and it’s leaders will speak out about true justice in this day. In the name of Jesus I pray and ask, Amen.

I am praying for true justice, the kind that the King of kings Himself provides. It so outweighs man’s justice. It is based upon pure, unadulterated truth. Our judges and people involved in America’s justice system need to consult Jesus as to what this truth is that they need to be operating within. Please help us, dear Lord.

To the folks who were shown the video by News organizations, like me, I too felt he had overstepped and should be brought to justice.
However, if you have not seen the ~1.5 hour closing argument by the defense lawyer, who painstakingly went through the ENTIRE episode from when officers were first contacted by Dispatch until the very end, then I would urge everyone to do that.
For me, I gained a whole new perspective. Manslaughter, yes. Murder, I’ll let you decide AFTER watching the closing argument.

So it’s ok for a criminal to ruin a man’s life but not ok when a criminal dies because of his crimes??It takes personal responsibility for ones actions, which george didn’t have.We have so many criminals and lawlessness in today’s world because criminals have all the rights.Something to think about. Its only going to get worse now that an innocent police officer was sent to prison and a criminal is being paraded as a hero.

OJ Simpson trial. I believe there was a sort of justice for Darren Wilson (hands up don’t shoot) however six plus years later that police officer is still being hounded, and again there is no evidence by which he could be found guilty. I still pray for him occasionally. I wonder how he affords his legal fees, has he been able to find a job. I’m disappointed in how freely you indict us as racists “racism is real”etc.. I just wish we could get back to the pre-Obama non-racism and build from there. We were on our way to a color blind society. We’ll never know if this, the Chauvin trial, was a fair trial. The fact that we all know it was a mistrial (thank you Maxine Waters) and we also know it will not be thrown out – why? Fear. Cities will burn, people will die. Fear and intimidation is now how justice is determined. There are people in solitary confinement from the staged riots of January 6. Not so for Antifa or BLM from the months long tyranny they have imposed on the American people. While we cower in our homes they, the evil ones determine our destiny. The church has to stop buying into this false racism and get back to spreading love and God’s word as it is written. No Indoctrination, but love and truth.

Nancy, your comment says it all especially “the pre-obama non racism” era. All Americans were doing so well and then along came Obama who is 50% white and he started a domino effect with Trayvon in Florida. Mike Brown was a thug and the BLM was created on a LIE. White Americans do respect and support Black Americans but this concept keeps eroding with the calling out of “racism or race baiting” Shame on you Obama and others for tearing down our American society! I have prayed more than ever in my life because of the evil that abounds in the U.S. The 2020 election was filled with fraud and it has been proven. Yet the Supreme Court denied taking the case because the truth would come out. My feelings for the Supreme Court is to dismantle it. Let the states decide on legal issues. Keep praying everyone for our country.

This country is in serious trouble. A lot of these things you see are setups from the Democrats. It’s all in the Communist playbook. All Americans are sitting back and letting it happen. This is why they will have no problems taking guns from people. Look at how much power just through fear that got people to submit during covid. Fear makes people submit and that is why they’re doing these things. All the shootings you see there’s Democrats behind them so they can push gun control. All these racial wars in the playbooks. Nothing new under the Sun just repeating history. God help us, America is in a down 🌎 spiral.

African American of ethnic decent Pastor Dr. Aaron Lewis has stated over and over, “there is NO such thing as racism if you believe the Bible and trust God’s truth.” Adam and Eve were created as humans. We are all humans. There was not separate “races” declared until satan got into some human minds. “Racism” is a weapon to divide.

The whole issue of life in the US today is centered in Isaiah 5:20; evil is good, good is evil! Woe to them!
Until hearts are changed toward God, this will continue. Christians need to get out of the 4 walls and bring salvation to individual lost souls! Only God can change this problem, not courts or laws!

Father we are a fallen and broken generation and the blood of Your precious Son is the only answer today as it has been forever. Forgive us for losing sight of our first Love, for not obeying His command to first love You with LL of our hearts minds and strength and to love our neighbors as ourselves. There is only one solution to any of our problems Father, and it is turning from our own ways and returning to Yours. It begins with us, Your body, open our eyes Holy Spirit, light a fire in each of our souls, May Your light burn so brightly within us that others are drawn in and help us to be the church You created us to be. Embolden each of Your children to stand in boldness with the authority You have given us to tear down these strongholds of hate and division the enemy has perpetuated on your creation. Not by power nor by might but by My Spirit says the Lord, the battle belongs to You Father help is to be Your mighty army, using the weapons of PRAYER, LOVE and REPENTANCE in Jesus name🙏

For “justice” to be just; mercy needs be messured and weighed in the “totality of circumstances” in a nation of Laws and Morals.
“Justice” is a term used for vengence in our nation; has been for a great many years.
I am not conviced that “God hard wired us” for justice; the story of Salvation, the absolute need for Christ to go to the cross as the “sacrificial lamb” is not because of some human desire, or notion, of justice.
Indeed,Jesus warns us of the trials and tribulations which beset the Christian in ordinary everyday living.

From the Island of Guam:
Having accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior 50 years ago, my hear goes out to the family of George Floyd as well as to Officer Chauvin personally, both, like many of us, are faced with the reality and aftermath of this incident and subsequent events since that tragic night a year ago. I pray for the jury as I’ve served in a number of Guam and U.S. District Court juries and that I felt the clean fear of God to seek the truth in all deliberations as I would have to face the Lord God Himself in eternity. I am touched by this IFA statement above as to how do we react to all the events leading up to the trial and the guilty verdict two days ago. How are we now to pray? I am sensing that I am in agreement with the above guidance that I pray for a heart solution, that I will strive with the rest of the Body of Christ to seek out true justice, and that I want “Truth” to prevail. In Christ Jesus, I pray. Amen.

I didn’t hear the trial but I don’t think there was any just reason for this cop to do what he did for as long as he did. And for the other officers to stand and watch. I have to believe there was another way to bring him to the station and put him behind bars than this action. My client doesn’t understand why they made such a big thing of this case. Said if it had been a white man they never would have given it so much attention. She also said that there are so many other terrible things that go on especially that involve the deaths of many not just one man.
