I Prayed have prayed
God, we believe Your Word: Great power is at work as we pray for our nation. Thank You that our prayers do change things!
Reading Time: 4 minutes

It was early one morning when the Lord woke me with a question: “What can change a nation?” I believe this thought has been on the minds of many as we watch what is unfolding in our great United States of America. Thousands have been fasting and praying diligently for our nation, some for many years. Yet, it appears things are getting worse instead of better. What will it take to change our nation?

” … With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

I still believe the Word of God: that all things are possible with God. He has promised to heal our land if we humble ourselves and cry out to Him. If we do our part, God will surely do His. He is a faithful God.

I am reminded of another man who bowed himself before the Lord and cried out for his nation: Daniel.

“O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us. Now therefore, our God, hear the prayer of Your servant, and his supplications, and for the Lord’s sake cause Your face to shine on Your sanctuary, which is desolate. O my God, incline Your ear and hear; open Your eyes and see our desolations, and the city which is called by Your name; for we do not present our supplications before You because of our righteous deeds, but because of Your great mercies. O Lord, hear! O Lord, forgive! O Lord, listen and act! Do not delay for Your own sake, my God, for Your city and Your people are called by Your name” (Daniel 9:16–19).

That was Daniel’s prayer. Now let’s look at God’s answer:

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia” (Daniel 10:12–13).

Daniel cried out to God, and God heard his words. The Bible says that from the first day he prayed, God sent angelic help. The first words Daniel uttered were heard by our great God, Jehovah! Not only were they heard, but help was sent in that instant. It is the same with us today. However, as we know, Daniel didn’t see his answer immediately, nor did he have any proof his prayers had been heard.

Scripture proclaims that, even though God sent the answer, the Enemy withstood His messenger for 21 days. This, however, didn’t move God, nor did it stop His plan. God still got His message through by sending additional help. His power is unlimited, and His angelic hosts are innumerable.

Never forget: No matter how the Enemy tries to withstand or delay the answers to our prayers, God has a plan for this nation. His plan will ultimately prevail. Satan cannot overpower God, nor can his demonic force outlast God’s heavenly hosts. It is simply not possible. God does not change. He has heard our prayers, from the first words we uttered as we humbled ourselves before God. I believe the answer is on the way. The same God who was with Daniel is now with us.

As the Scripture says: … The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16).

The Amplified Bible, Classic Edition renders it: … The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

There is tremendous power working on our behalf even at this moment — isn’t that awesome?! Every prayer that has been prayed has come up before God; the answers are on the way.

What can change a nation? Prayer can. It did in Daniel’s day, and it will again. How do I know? Because He is not a man, that He should lie. If He said it, then He will do it. Scripture confirms this truth.

” … Indeed I have spoken it; I will also bring it to pass. I have purposed it; I will also do it” (Isaiah 46:11).

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24 ESV).

“If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you” (John 15:7 ESV).

And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him (1 John 5:14–15 ESV).

Healing of our nation is God’s plan for us.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart (Jeremiah 29:11–13).

He is a good, good Father, and He is a faithful God. Do not stop praying! Our prayers have been heard. God and His angelic hosts are fighting on our behalf. He will not be stopped, nor will His plan. The Enemy simply cannot outlast God.

Let’s never forget: All things are possible with God, and nothing is impossible to him who believes. May we all be believers.

Dear Jesus, we have BIG prayers and You have BIGGER answers we know not of. Yet Your hearing is always one-to-one with us/A. If I stub my toe I need pain relief, a small thing in the Kingdom but You hear. Train us up in the way we should go so that when we are old we do not depart from it. Our children are being sacrificed on the altar of education and today we cry out LET MY CHILDREN GO! Also this is Purim weekend and we are crying out like Esther and Mordecai for life for the Jewish people again and Your people all over the world plus the pre-Christians! Thank You that You hear us one by one, fully and may many come to You by their hearing alone in this PEY/speaking/voice decade. Your Voice is so desperately need in this season.

Thank you so much for sharing this! The Spirit is using your words to encourage but also for correction. It’s so easy in praying for others to pray from a point of self-righteousness and judgement. God forbid! Spirit cleanse me! I repent! Romans 5 promises that the Holy Spirit pours out God’s love in our hearts. Fill me, Spirit, with the love of God as I pray.

Father God, thank you for your reassurance through your word and these believers that, despite the darkness we see around us, you have heard our desperate prayers on behalf of this nation and also Israel. Your ways are higher than ours and you are already answering the prayers of those who are repenting on behalf of this nation and asking for your healing touch that our number might grow and that in all things you would be glorified. Help us not to grow weary but to persevere and believe, for the victory is already yours. In the precious name of Jesus we pray.

It is the Feast of Purim this weekend: Sunset Saturday, 3/23 – nightfall Sunday, March 24. In Esther 4:12-14 Mordecai told Esther this: “Don’t think that just because you live in the king’s house you’re the one Jew who will get out of this alive! IF YOU PERSIST IN STAYING SILENT AT A TIME LIKE THIS HELP AND DELIVERANCE WILL ARRIVE FOR THE JEWS FROM SOMEPLACE ELSE; BUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY WILL BE WIPED OUT! WHO KNOWS? MAYBE YOU WERE MADE QUEEN FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!” A prayer for our nation: “As Jewish people celebrate these feast days this weekend please bring to their minds and ours this beautiful story of your providence to the Jewish people in their time of need! America is sinning on many fronts in our culture wars. Don’t let us allow the blessing of our “aid to Isreal” to be stopped! That would be a big mistake! Please send divine intervention from everywhere so this Hamas War can be won by Israel ASAP with our help! Thank You for fighting our battles for us in spite of the evil that lurks in Washington, D.C. In Jesus name I pray this. Amen.”

Yes I agree with this article. Also we have to stay on the wall of prayer. Our faith is being attacked. In Mark 5:36
36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe. KJV
