Festival of Freedom, Reality of War: Israel’s Message This Passover
As believers celebrate the Resurrection this Sunday, we look at our Jewish friends who are simultaneously celebrating Passover and the poignancy of protecting their freedom and their very existence.

The great Jewish feast of Passover [began] at sundown on April 1. And in reflecting on the “festival of freedom,” a top Israeli official reminded the world that freedom is never free, and must be defended, sometimes with weapons of war.
Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Gideon Sa’ar posted on X, “Tonight, around the Seder table, we’ll ask: ‘Why is this night different?’ In our national soul-searching, it’s important that we know how to answer this question well and precisely.” And he has an answer, too: “There’s no freedom without the willingness to defend it.”
In an unprecedented victory, the Jewish people in the 20th century reclaimed part of the homeland God promised to them as a perpetual possession (Genesis 17:8) thousands of years ago. Sa’ar explained, “Most of us were privileged to be born into a sovereign and free Jewish state in the land of our ancestors, after 2,000 years of exile. We were born into freedom and statehood after generations of exile, persecution, and destruction.”
The tragic reality is that the rebirth of Israel was immediately met by Islamic terror, which has never stopped since. “Israel has fought for its existence since the day it was born,” Sa’ar stated. “The truth is that there hasn’t been a single day in which we have not stood on guard, in which we haven’t fought. From the founding of the state until today.”
Unfortunately, the demonic jihadis who hate God’s people are determined that each war they lose will never be the last.
God commanded the Israelites to wage war on evil enemies numerous times in the Old Testament (e.g., 1 Samuel/Kings 15:3, Joshua 6, Numbers 31:2).
During the first Passover, however, God Himself slew the firstborn of all the Egyptians to ensure His people would go free. God commanded the celebration of Passover in Exodus 12, the sacrifice of unblemished lambs (a figure of the Messiah to come), the eating of the lambs with unleavened bread, and finally the exit from Egypt.
The Egyptian pharaoh of that era tried to wipe out the Jews, as the terrorist Iranian regime wishes to do today.
Referring to Iran’s regime, Sa’ar affirmed, “We stood before a danger of elimination. Our enemies, chief among them the Ayatollah regime in Iran, devised a plan of elimination. Not only through clear public declarations revealing their intentions. Not merely as an abstract aspiration, but as a concrete plan.”
Sa’ar further went on to that, “Today, we can say: We’ve removed the threat of elimination. We still have bitter and cruel enemies, but they’ve been dealt a severe blow. We don’t promise that this will be the “last war.” We’ll need, in the future too, to remain vigilant against the schemes of our enemies.”
While the regime can still fire at Israel, it is now incapable of destroying it. Meanwhile, the Israeli government is already preparing for the next diplomatic deal and the next war.

Revelation 7
Worthy is the LAMB
Now, when He had taken the scroll, the 4 living creatures and the 24 elders, , fell down before the Lamb. each having a harp, and golden bowls , full of incense, which are the prayers of the Saints. And they sang a new song saying:::
You are worthy to take the scroll. And to open its seals;
For You were slain,
And have redeemed us to God by Your blood
Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nations , You have made us kings, and priests to our God;
And we shall Reign on earth. ”
Then I looked and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, , and the elders, and the number of them was 10 thousand times 10 thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice:
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessings!”
And every creature which is in , that heaven and on the earth and under the earth, and such that are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
Blessing and honor and power and glory
Be to Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!
Then the 4 living creatures said, Amen! And the 24 elders fell down and worshipped Him, Jesus, who lives forever and ever!!! Amen 🙏 🙏 🙏
Praying for the Peace of Jerusalem and Israel and all of her people that Yeshuas mighty hand will protect them and guide them and deliver them from all the terror of their enemies, in His mighty name! Amen!🙏
Lord, when it is the darkest you light can shine bright. I pray that the enemies of Israel see a vision of your Glory so they will come to repentance and the salvation of the Lord Jesus.
Father, I pray for the protection of Israel and their victory in the war against Iran and its arms of terrorism. Open the eyes of Israelis and their enemies to see you as the Messiah they have been waiting for. Give them a voice of praise to the God who created and rules the universe and himself died to save sinners from eternal damnation. I praise your name for this season of Passover and Easter. You are good, wise and just, and worthy of glory and power.
God has given us His Word through these He has chosen to preserve it. We must treasure what God has provided for the world’s people. God’s people are stewards to preserve what is in various places that testify of this provision, (such as the Scriptures), and this place, where Jesus walked, is preserved evidence for us all. These, who have suffered as a target (as a group or nation) for centuries by those who do not take time to understand, who don’t take time to care, and of those whose god is not the One who created the world and all the provision in it – need to know why it’s important for us to put it in our minds and hearts to ‘get it’ and to even reach out in understanding, to forge relationships that we may understand better (and for others, as well, to learn why it is so important to us). Those of us who, as well, treasure the beginnings of our spiritual heritage must also make it known to our children so they can have it cast in their minds during sensitive development and growth to then pass on the torch of knowledge and love in remembrance of Christ coming in the flesh to that place. Who can know the mind of the Lord to do it as He has done it? We must accept it as it is written in the Scriptures. Shall not the judge of the earth do right (Gen. 18:25)?
Faith needs to grow there as here and around the world – those who have some knowledge of His Word may be more open to take time out of noisy, busy or isolated lives to hear, to let it sink in. It’s easier than ever to connect with others (barring our personalities!).
His love has partnered through those who’ve been sent in person or by technology to bring the best news – that the Messiah has come, that He is the sacrifice for sin that paves the way through His finished work to be with Him when our purpose on this earth has been completed. Each person born has the opportunity to be a catalyst of love – a witness of purpose! God gave us direction from day one – it’s up to those entrusted with new life to gently guide those emerging abilities to become strong purveyors of truth. So many live as if there is no sense to being here (looking for love, a strong motivator for living, perhaps in wrong ways to find it not as satisfying as it has been “sold”). We are not to be competing with others but to bring along those that will come into the safe fold of God’s care. His enemies will always be, but perhaps we can lessen them. “Lord, we come in Your name to ask to be effective in love and truth as we breathe and have our being knowing You have an eternal provision when our individual purpose is done here below. Amen.”
