Are you tired of waiting and waiting and waiting for the answers to your prayers? I know that you know God is faithful, but do you ever wish He would just “throw you a bone” sometimes and show you that something is happening, even when you don’t see results yet?
If you feel adrift on the sea of waiting, and you just need to see a sign of land, I want to show you today from Scripture that you can ask God for this very thing. In fact, it is His will for you to ask Him! And when you ask God for the signs of land that you need, not only will He answer—but it will bring you great joy.
Have you taken your place on the wall?
Signs of land are a great joy to every intercessor.
We see the concept of “signs of land” in the Bible in Psalm 86:16-17:
Oh, turn to me, and have mercy on me! Give Your strength to Your servant, and save the son of Your maidservant.
Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me (Psalm 86:16-17 NKJV).
Did you catch that earnest cry of David’s heart, inspired and breathed out by God the Holy Spirit Himself? David was crying out for mercy. He was beseeching God for strength when he had none! He needed help. And the help for which David begged was that the Lord would show him a sign for good—a sign that even other people would see; a sign that would make God’s favor on David’s life evident to all.
“Show me a sign for good!”
Friend, have you been praying for something a long time? Do you also need strength in the battle? Do you need God to vindicate you, so that all who look at you will see His hand at work in your life—and in the lives of those for whom you are praying?
If so, you also can and should join in with David’s prayer, inspired by Holy Spirit: “Oh Lord, have mercy on me! Show me a sign for good!”
I learned to pray this prayer a number of years ago. And over the years, I have found that our Father always answers.
A sailor who has been at sea for months yearns for that welcome cry of “Land, ho!” And even if he can’t see a full body of land yet, he gets encouraged when he starts to see sticks and leaves in the water! Why? Because those things could only come from land, so seeing the flotsam in the water is a clear sign that he is approaching land! The thing for which he yearns is near!
In the same way, when we pray, sometimes our spirit becomes desperate for a sign that something, anything, is happening in answer to our prayers. We need a sign. The sign we crave doesn’t even have to be the complete fulfillment of our prayers in order to be encouraging! No, anything will do. We simply need a love note from the Lord, showing us that He hears our prayers and He is working on it—and that the complete answer is not far behind.
So in what area do you need encouragement today? Ask God to send you signs of land! Ask Him to have mercy on you and show you a sign for good.
You can pray very simply like this:
“Abba Father, I come before You in Jesus’ name.
Father God, I have been praying and praying for _______. I know You hear me because Your Word says that You do. I know You have already said the “yes” and the “amen” to my prayers, for ALL Your promises are Yes and Amen.
However, Father, You see that I’ve been discouraged. I’ve been praying for so long, and I haven’t really seen anything move. Things have been hard, and I’m growing weary. So I’m coming to You. And I do ask You to strengthen me and give me rest, as Jesus said He would do. But also, I ask right now in Jesus’ name that You would turn to me and have mercy on me by showing me a sign for good.
Show me signs of land while I’m out here on this sea of intercessory prayer, Father. Send me secret messages that only You could send—messages You know that only I will understand. Send me signs that You are working and moving in this situation. And I am even bold enough to ask that the signs You send would be evident to others, and would vindicate the great faith I have in You.
Father God, in Jesus’ name, I do ask also that You would please help me to recognize Your signs of land and signs for good for what they are. Don’t let me miss any sign You send me. Help me to be observant. Give me ears to hear and eyes to see, and help me perceive and understand all You are saying and doing in the spiritual and natural worlds around me.
Thank You. I give You all the praise. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

I so needed this encouragement today. I have been in this sea interceding and contending for my daughter for over 27 years. Contending for my family Thank you.
Jesus as I read these words it brought to my attention the words of Dutch Sheets as He explained “ Filling The Bowls” as well as a book that was written about God Tipping The Bowls. “ Worthy Is the Lamb: Rev. 5:8
“8 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.” This clearly showed me that our prayers land in these golden vessels of God to be released from heaven when we fill it to be tipped back down to US. Did not Jesus leave a gift of authority in us as Christians to use, is that not Gods power. God gave us this power to use.. I learned it may take more than a few words to get Gods attention 😊 sometimes. It’s like a desire for a hot chocolate chip cookie: not one or two will quench that taste desire, “my analogy “ same way with prayer we speak it until we get the desired results” I read these words from DS “ Spiritual power is a Measurable Force, and different amounts amounts are needed to accomplish different things” Ephesians- 3:20 says “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us,“ more than we can expect, “ through the power in Us” I want to take a moment to thank Jesus for this reminder of power we have!! James 5:16 says, “The heartfelt and persistent prayer of a righteous man (believer) can accomplish much [when put into action and made effective by God—it is dynamic and can have tremendous power” AMP- Release it, release it, again, and again to our Father. When we keep praying, scriptures indicate that our prayers accumulate. There are bowls in heaven where prayers are stored, not one bowl but many. “ Romans 1:7, ESV ), and, when we pray, it’s as if a golden bowl of incense is being carried to the very throne of God in heaven.” “ The prayers of the saints in Revelation 5:8, especially as represented by incense in the context of temple imagery, should be understood to take the role of incense in the temple, which was to offer up a sweet aroma to God and to symbolize prayer.” Our prayers accumulate until God releases these (Prayers) at the appropriate time, and when prayer power has been prayed up to Him. Revelation – part of verse 8 speaks of answered prayer—“-Another angel ,who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all God’s people, on the golden altar in front of the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of God’s people, went up before Godd from the angel’s hand. 5 Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and hurled it on the earth; and there came peals of thunder,, rumblings, flashes of lightning and an earthquake.” As I read again it prompted me to really understand Gods waiting period, it is all about Gods timing and sometimes our persistent. We need committed, determined, continuous prayer to get our answers., never, never give up, Satan is just around the corner waiting he knows when we get flustered and discouraged and will try to steal your Hope! I will share a Decree for all to read, believe in answered prayer. Our Decree:” We decree that the bowls of intercession in heaven are filled, and God is going to respond from Heaven. “ To give His answered prayer. I praise our Heavenly Father and thank Him for all of His Love even during our moments of frustration. 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️ The 9 in Numerology acts as an usher in this process of transition or transformation, guiding and empowering us with its wisdom.. Father I thank you for this great nation. I thank you for our Freedoms and abundant blessings we enjoy. God I get a little frustrated at times when I pray to see the evidence of the leftist Party that keep throwing darts at us Thee people. They pile on everything that is sinful in Gods eyes, as such as the Grammys, I did not watch but when I listen to the Christian news and they put a picture up of Satan with people worshiping it just shook me. At that moment I cried Heavenly Father: how much more? Then I read an e-mail from one of our Official Leaders in my state that wrote and showed pictures that an official Transgender Wing had been established in one of the well known Hospitals in America that did surgery on my husband’s leg. As I read the article I prayed how can this be? I’ve been praying that the church and Ministry to be shook up by God to open their hearts, their eyes their soul to take their position before God. What happened to them how can they lose sight of God? Break off all deception that Ministers should not be involved in Government. My question is do they not realize they are suppose to be the Shepherd’s or do they think they will get tainted getting close to Big Time sinners.. God I say it like that because, I have never viewed SO MUCH outward SIN in my life time. I know and believe that God is moving about and exposing so much SIN , if it was not for the (Gods) prophets and their fulfilled words that come to pass, years, months, days later my heart would feel very heavy. I thank God for the Manifestation of The Holy Spirt that lives inside of us to flow from us. Ephesians – 3-20-21 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to HIS power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout ( beyond) all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. “ The words beyond coming from God reminds ME of doing something that has been said To Me. Why do you think you must do and do. Going beyond now I must plant these scriptures to be imbedded in me. Father God I ask you to keep going beyond in our lives so we can keep filling the prayer bowls of Heaven and help us to keep the power flowing in Us to be able “to flow out of us. “James – 5-16 says “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective. “Some versions say /“ prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much.“Gods mercy is so gracious! I found this wonderful quote it says a lot about reminding us what our job is to not be frustrated—“ We need committed, determined, power-releasing power, not once-in-a-while fireworks” Our Decree-“ We Decree that the bowls of intercession in heaven are filled, and God is going to respond from Heaven. “ God is on time!!! Thank you for this much-needed word today as I wait for the reconciliation of my relationship with my daughter, my only child. According to Isaiah 49:25 The prey of the terrible will be delivered and you, father will contend with him who contends with you, and you will save our children. Thank you, father for saving our children!

Jesus was asked for signs by others. HIS reply was… no. Faith must come first. Read the New Testament.
Actually, God performed signs even in the New Testament. Mark 16:20 is just one example: “And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them and confirmed the message by accompanying signs.” The signs were to confirm the Word. And the sign David asked for in the Scripture quoted in this article was for the same purpose. The signs discussed in this article are for the same purpose. God gives signs to those who believe on a daily basis. He refused to give the Pharisees a sign because of the hardness of their hearts. He pointed out that they did not believe the signs of the prophets who propesied about Him, so they would not believe additional signs, either.
God is ready, willing, and eager to show Himself through signs and wonders to all those who believe.

WOW! What an incredible word from the Lord. I receive it and ask the Father to show me a sign this very day. I often ask for a sign but this really helps me as I pray for my son to be set free from addiction of many years. Thank You Lord for showing me, and others who don’t believe Israel will ever be saved, a glorious sign. I believe You are working in his life and Israel will be saved as You promised!! In Jesus mighty name. Isaiah 49:25

Father I lift up to you each one who has seen this article and has been lifting up a request to you, waiting for Your answer. Please give us a sign of nearing land as we wait and meditate on your Word at all times. We give thanks to You for all you have done and will do in our lives, even that which we can’t see with human eyes. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heavenly Father, Thank You for all that You are doing in our world, We ask to see Your hand in Turkey and Syria where there has been so much devastation from the earthquake and after shocks. Father, seeing families destroyed and loosing their homes and even their jobs is so heartbreaking to us. Thank You for the rescue workers who are sacrificing their time and endangering their lives to help save those buried in the ruble. Father, direct their paths through this devastation to find the living and rescue them.
Father, only You can bring healing and restoration out of this terrible event. So many lives have been lost. It is hard to see this devastation, and I can’t imagine how painful it is to be living through it. Please send angels to watch over those still waiting to be rescued. Provide food and shelter for those who have lost their homes, jobs, family members, and more. You are the only HOPE for comfort, salvation, peace, and restoration. In Jesus precious name we pray. Amen
I call these signs my “little clouds”, like when Elijah was praying for rain and looking for evidence, expecting God to move- but needing to see those clouds the size of a man’s hand!
Father, renew in me a right spirit to pray; but also refresh my dedication to pray with confidence and faith that your answers and direction are forthcoming. Strengthen my resolve to seek and discern your divine wisdom and the courage to act upon it. Yes, help me to recognize and be encouraged by the “twigs and leaves” across my path as I face an impending move. Establish me Lord in your desired “God spot” for me to live and build community; and ordain all necessary help along the way. Faithful and merciful Father I praise you, I trust you, I lean on you despite bouts of weariness throughout this waiting season. Please maintain healing restoration with my daughter and let’s complete this long awaited housing mission for each daughter/son-in-law and myself. In Jesus’ name I ask and pray, Amen. I am praying and have been praying for my relationship with my oldest daughter to be restored and us to be reconciled. This prayer today spoke right to my heart. Praying I see a sign even something small that God is working.

Oh, how this helped me in aligning my mind in my heart with the Holy Spirit’s direction. My heart is so overwhelmed with so much so much happiness, even in my own small community in Kerrville, Texas. My children, my grandchildren and great grandchildren, my clients that I work for the need for healing and restoration and acknowledgment of the Lord Jesus Christ they so desperately need. My church, the pastor that we can be an outreach for truth, and not be ashamed to speak the truth, my country oh, how my heart breaks over my country, the depravity and the evil that wants to devour our land. Yes, I so need to see some land even a branch or leave that would give me the encouragement to press in there to the mark of the high calling. Oh, how I praise God for this incredible encouragement today for myself.

We have been praying for direction for my husband and I to know what to do now as we start closing the doors on our small electrical business that has supported us and our two adult sons and their families for 23 years. After Covid business has been very hard due to parts being unavailable and customers not being sure they want to spend money (understandably) because of current economics. We just need to know where to go from here. Husband turns 60 this year and we have nothing left financially. However we know God is faithful we just need direction!

Lord, You know my wife and I have been praying for almost 20 years for our son Benjamin to be saved and delivered from homosexuality and new age witchcraft. He was dedicated to you as an infant and received Jesus as his Savior at 4 years old. We raised him in the Christian faith, but he turned away from you as a young adult. I have been praying for my prodigal daughter for seven years. Yesterday the three words I had to remember during my physical were daughter, heaven, and mountain. I take this as a sign of land. God is good.
