I Prayed have prayed
Lord God, we ask You to have mercy on the Afghani people. Protect and deliver them, we pray. Amen.

As Taliban fighters gained political control of Afghanistan, they also gained billions of dollars worth of munition power at Americans’ expense: guns, ammunition, helicopters, and combat aircraft.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Built and trained at a two-decade cost of $83 billion, Afghan security forces collapsed so quickly and completely — in some cases without a shot fired — that the ultimate beneficiary of the American investment turned out to be the Taliban. They grabbed not only political power but also U.S.-supplied firepower — guns, ammunition, helicopters and more.

The Taliban captured an array of modern military equipment when they overran Afghan forces who failed to defend district centers. Bigger gains followed, including combat aircraft, when the Taliban rolled up provincial capitals and military bases with stunning speed, topped by capturing the biggest prize, Kabul, over the weekend…

Doug Lute, a retired Army lieutenant general who helped direct Afghan war strategy during the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations, said that what the Afghans received in tangible resources they lacked in the more important intangibles…

By contrast, Afghanistan’s Taliban insurgents, with smaller numbers, less sophisticated weaponry and no air power, proved a superior force. U.S. intelligence agencies largely underestimated the scope of that superiority, and even after President Joe Biden announced in April he was withdrawing all U.S. troops, the intelligence agencies did not foresee a Taliban final offensive that would succeed so spectacularly.

“If we wouldn’t have used hope as a course of action, … we would have realized the rapid drawdown of U.S. forces sent a signal to the Afghan national forces that they were being abandoned,” said Chris Miller, who saw combat in Afghanistan in 2001 and was acting secretary of defense at the end of President Donald Trump’s term…

The failures, however, go back much further and run much deeper. The United States tried to develop a credible Afghan defense establishment on the fly, even as it was fighting the Taliban, attempting to widen the political foundations of the government in Kabul and seeking to establish democracy in a country rife with corruption and cronyism…

“Regarding the future of Afghanistan, in blunt terms, the United States has been down this road at the strategic level twice before, in Vietnam and Iraq, and there is no viable rationale for why the results will be any different in Afghanistan,” Chris Mason wrote. He added, presciently: “Slow decay is inevitable, and state failure is a matter of time.”…

The $83 billion invested in Afghan forces over 20 years is nearly double last year’s budget for the entire U.S. Marine Corps and is slightly more than what Washington budgeted last year for food stamp assistance for about 40 million Americans…

Lord, please have mercy on us. You already knew this would happen and have allowed it. Forgive us for not praying enough for the Middle East and Afghanistan in particular. Please have mercy on the Christians that are there and give them a hedge of protection for the persecution that is about to take place. We ask that there be confusion in the Taliban’s camp. Please Lord, have mercy! Let the bullets jam and equipment fail. Please Lord let none of the equipment supplied to the Afghan army be used to injure or kill Christians and innocents. Please supply a miracle and let us receive confirmation in our lifetime upon hearing of Afghani testimony how you saved them. Lord, this is nothing for you but everything for those in Afghanistan. Please let this prayer go to the throne room in heaven with the other prayers worldwide petitioning for a miracle. In Jesus Name, Amen.

We can read many things into this. Here is the ultimate question (s)? We know who made the decision to withdraw completely. The same person who has undone multiple policies and rules that were working for our nation. That’s a given.
But why wasn’t there adherence to the intelligence we had on the Taliban? No matter how ‘surprised’ Biden states, they knew what they were capable of. And why if we were pulling out did we have NO plan to remove more of our war equipment? No one, not even the best general…can convince us that they didn’t know what would happen. All of this reeks of planned corruption – as if those pulling the Biden strings knew full well what would happen and wanted it to. And I suggest that we place heavy pressure on those people in government who are on any committee for armed services and defense and demand answers from them. Because that is taxpayer $$ that was left behind that now finances terrorists with US equipment.

It does look like the Taliban was the beneficiary of ALL the investment that America put into that area, which is multi Billions of dollars worth of ammunition, guns, aircrafts, military equipment of all kinds, etc., etc. It is truly devastating what OUR inept, radical, Marxist leaning administration, has done to the Middle East AND to America!! It is hard to believe any American, let alone this administration, would not only allow, but CAUSE, this to occur! Unfortunately, I believe our totally OPEN BORDERS are going to make it possible for thousands of terrorists to now flow into America! Only the Lord knows how this will “play out.”
By the way, remember the terrorist that President Obama let out and “traded” for the turncoat, Beau Bergdahl, the Army Sgt.? Well, this terrorist that Obama let out, he is now leading the Taliban…..how’s that going to work out??
I hope and pray that ALL Americans will finally wake up and understand what we are facing, because of THIS ADMINISTRATION!! No one else is to blame! No one!!
Lord God, we pray for the Afghan people. We pray for protection and strength, for our brothers and sisters, in Christ. We ask for your mercy. Our hope is in You. Only You can make way a for them and us. Our eyes are on You!

It is hard to believe that there are no comments
to this excellent commentary! My impression remains
that when people (any nationality, any nation) has
no knowledge of the Creator and Sustainer of the
universe and no faith in the goodness and righteous
judgment of that Creator and Sustainer, nothing but
evil will prevail. I have many thoughts in this
regard, which motivate me to pray with more understanding.
Lord, have mercy on the people of the whole world, for whose
sins You died and rose again that they might have abundant life.
In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.
