I Prayed have prayed
Father, we ask that your truth would prevail in this case. Let your justice reign, Lord!
Reading Time: 2 minutes

This is a key racial redistricting case that deserves our attention. Let’s pray over this case and pray that justice would be done.

From Fox News. The Supreme Court heard a case on Tuesday about whether the state of Alabama’s congressional map illegally disadvantages Black voters.

Connect with others in your state in prayer.

Following the 2020 census, Alabama created a new redistricting map for its seven seats in the U.S. House of Representatives. A group of Alabama voters, NAACP and Greater Birmingham Ministries filed a lawsuit, claiming the new maps limited the influence of Black voters by placing people from “majority-Black counties … into majority-white Congressional districts in low enough numbers that Black voters have no electoral influence.”

They argue the map should be redrawn so that Alabama has two majority-Black districts instead of just one, Congressional District 7 (CD 7).

Alabama is set to argue that should the lawsuit prevail, the state will be forced into an unconstitutional practice of prioritizing race in creating election rules — which is what plaintiffs have accused the state of doing. …

But plaintiffs say the demographics of the state mean Alabama needs to do more to give Black voters a chance to elect a Black representative.

“In the twentieth century, Black Alabamians have never elected a congressional representative in any district other than the packed majority-Black CD 7. And CD 7 has only been a majority-Black district since 1992,” plaintiffs argue. “As a result, Black Alabamians have the opportunity to elect a candidate of choice in only 14% of the congressional delegation…despite making up over 27% of Alabama’s voting age population.”

The issue before the court is whether Alabama violated Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits voting practices or procedures that discriminate on the basis of race. The decision could help bring long-awaited clarity to how the courts should interpret Section 2 in state redistricting cases. …

America First Legal filed a friend-of-the-court brief on behalf of Alabama, arguing that, “This Court should do more than reverse. It should end our Nation’s decades-long unconstitutional experiment with court-mandated racial segregation in redistricting.”

But opponents of Alabama’s map say it’s all about diluting the Black vote. …

Redistricting is a key tactic to controlling elections. Share your thoughts and prayers below.

All people have the right to vote. In Jesus Name Amen.
No one person should be excluded as long as they are 18 year’s of age.
It’s constitutional and right of our country to have the freedom to vote.

We of the 7th district are sick of the race issues. We are Alabamians and citizens of this country. Living together in the 7th district always have one choice of who we can vote for in this district for many years and the Representative we have now doesn’t care about anyone in the 7th district. She’s become a lifetime politician, cozyied up to a radical agenda of Nancy Pelosi. She’s evil. This year we have a choice. And our Alabama Republican party has been quite about our candidate and offered no financial support until 2 weeks ago. So we know politicians are weak kneed rinos just as bad as the dnc. That’s gotta change!
Please pray for election integrity in Alabama and pray our country becomes more Godley. Make America More Godly!!!
Father we are asking for fair election integrity and for Your Spirit to move freely among hearts in our nation, especially those in places of our government officials. Have your way in our country. Make us A people after your heart. I ask in Jesus name

It does that this could be a very slippery slope. Would establish a precedent for redistricting to be done to prefer any or all minority groups. Everyone has a vote and should use it wisely. Lord, please give your wisdom to those in charge in this situation and give justice for all.

I am not that familiar with the redistricting process but I don’t understand why it’s considered to be diluting the Black vote. What would stop the voter from doing so simply because of the redistricting? They still have the opportunity and the right to do so. If it’s a matter of having Black representation, then choose someone. I would assume it’s because of the party vote. I think they should disregard party lines and vote for the best suited candidate that represents their values, honor God and respect the Constitution.

sad that it seems we are back in 60s with racial issues…where are the democrats crying racism when Black Americans actually need them? The Democrats talk a good talk but their true actions have historically always hurt black Americans more than helped them.

districts should be divided based strictly upon the number of citizens living within the respective districts, not the the color of skin.

Father God,
We have no place to turn but You and no better place than You.
Someone told me 38 years ago when I was young in the Spirit Filled walk that sometimes,
God wants……..us so far out on a limb that we have no place to turn but to Him.
We are there people. Just like the children when God brought them out of Egypt . The Jews had their backs to the Red Sea and no place to run as the enemy was closing in.
We have someplace , someone to run to. Just as they did.
We have a rescuer, a Holy and mighty God who loves us and He is the shelter , Psalms 91 ,that we can run into and we will be and are safe !
Father , precious Lord. You are the same yesterday ,today and for evermore and You are our high tower and our portion in this life.
There is nothing that we could ask of You that You are not more than able to do.
We ask You precious Savior that You would draw each of Your children close to You and that as we lean into You faithful Lord that You are going to guide us , teach us and send us where You want us to be , placed in the position You have called us to for such a time as this.
You have never sent one of You children out alone to fight but have gone before us.
You are a God,the only true and living God whom all who place their trust in You have never , never been abandoned nor disappointed,
Your strong hand’s hold us Lord and we shall go forward through this difficult time knowing that Satan nor any of his armies nor co horts will destroy what You have planned and created by Your own hand and certainly not Your children.
Father we commit ourselves and all that we have to You and we follow where You lead us.
For You oh Lord are beautiful and a sweet , sweet fragrance to us who believe.
Glory to God and all honor and praise be to You !
Amen !

I’m Black. I am female. I don’t agree with electing someone based upon color. While it is true a lot of people DO vote solely on melanin, what the argument really is doing is asking for what they say the opposition is doing. “We don’t want them to elect people based upon color, but we want you to allow us to do so.” That is what the argument is. I’m not praying for God to show us favoritism via racism so the other guy can’t have favoritism via racism.

Lord, our just God, you do not show favoritism and you instruct us to treat each one equally. I pray that Alablama would come in alignment with your word and our constitution and that this unconstitutional practice of controlling the black vote is stopped in Jesus’ name!

Father God,
I don’t know what the righteous and just solution to this case is, but You do. I ask in the name of Jesus that You give the Supreme Court Justices Your wisdom, Your insight, Your knowledge, Your discernment, Your understanding, even Your revelation so that what is good and right and pleasing in Your eyes will be the decision and outcome brought forth.
I decree that all evil attempts to manipulate, intimidate or influence any of the Justices will have no effect.
All praise and honor and glory belong to You, the great I AM.
Thank You for loving America, forgiving our failures, and restoring the foundation of life, liberty and justice for all.
Amen.

Father God as this discussion goes before the courts concerning voting rights. The established complaint is – Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act, which prohibits voting practices or procedures that discriminate on the basis of race. The decision could help bring long-awaited clarity to how the courts should interpret Section 2 in state redistricting cases. … Father we lift up prayers that the courts will ask God to direct them in Clarity to settle this redistributing issue on any more racial statements. God I declare today as I pray all decisions will be honest, fair to all concerned and that the legal outcome will be made corrected if wrong, or that the voting rights is and was not based up on race. God loves all children red, yellow, black and white. It is time to honor Gods wishes that ALL Colors be treated as Our Father does. Fairly!!! Jesus I thank you for entering into the courts spirits, their minds, their hearts that the Outcome will come out honestly so once and for all this issue is put to rest. Proverbs- 3:6 “ In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” Father God I am asking you today that you will guide the path of the Courts for correct and honest answers. PTL

Lord, we pray that your perfect will be done. We boldly ask for truth, honesty, integrity and constitutional election fairness be decided in this case. All of mankind is equal in your eyes – there are no races in the eyes of the Lord… only people. We humbly ask that the state of AL would continue to have it’s jurisdiction over elections upheld. Give the SC wisdom & historical knowledge in it’s ruling on this case. Expose any deceptive or dirty money interests as they help decide this case. In your holy name we pray…. amen.

This is a tough call. Both sides show points of truth, so how do you blindly divide a state up but yet still represent its people? Should a population be color blind to their representatives? Can one part of population honestly represent the whole of the population and the well-being of all represented? Doe a rep for a segment of a population need to be part of that population to represent it? By the way, I use population here because I believe that there’s only one human species – Homo sapiens – with “tribes” and “nations” within this “tent”.

God Is In Control, https://www.openbible.info/topics/god_is_in_control

Isaiah 45:7 …. I am the Lord, and there is no other. I form light and create darkness, I make well-being and create calamity, I am the Lord, who does all these things.

Psalm 115:3 Our God is in the heavens; He does all that he pleases.

Job 12:10 In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.

Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world, that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.

Jeremiah 32:27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?

Both nations and individuals have tried Christianity and abandoned it, because it has been found too difficult; but no man has ever gone through the crisis of deliberately making Jesus Lord and found Him to be a failure. The Love of God—Oswald Chambers

Dear Heavenly Father, You are God. ALL creation is in Your Hands. I pray it pleases You to impart Your purpose in the hearts of the 9 members of this court. I pray their judgement resonates with justice as does Yours in The Supreme Court of Heaven. The plans of the enemy bombard us daily, we know they are his. We also KNOW, it is Your purpose that will stand, nothing is too difficult for You. Thank You for Jesus Christ, Your Son and our Savior. I pray You will draw us so near, that our prayers will be willful, purposeful, intentional… deliberate. Thank You Father. Thank You Jesus. Thank You Holy Spirit. Amen

Father, You have called Alabama the Justice state, and through your prophets , have said, that all eyes would be on Alabama. So Father let Your truth and Your Justice prevail. Uncover the intents of those pushing the voting segregation in our state. Let there be only what is right done. Your Kingdom come, Your will be done.
And as Alabama has pioneered the way in many legal battles, as all eyes look, let there be a sound decision ruling in her favor. In Jesus name, amen.

All citizens of Alabama are Americans with equal rights and this includes the Blacks who should have a voice in the election process regardless of race and creed. Americans no longer send anyone to the back of the bus; segregation has ended. Whatever prejudice Alabamian lawmakers have needs to be checked at the door and reminded of equal rights for their constituents.
Lord, we pray for the hearts and minds of prejudiced Alabamian lawmakers whose aim is to neglect those whom they believe aren’t worthy of the very rights they have been provided. Teach them compassion and humility for all mankind particularly their constituents in Alabama. In Your Holy Name, Amen.
