What Happened at Rededicate 250?
The nation has entered into a “hinge of history” moment, according to Pastor Lou Engle, who addressed the thousands of Americans present and online, eager to rededicate the nation to the Lord.

Pastor Engle’s exhortation to humble ourselves in repentance and prayer before the Lord happened in the final part of Rededicate 250. His address followed a video of President Donald J. Trump reading from 2 Chronicles. The video was from the President’s Bible reading in April, which was a part of America Reads the Bible.
Moments later, a little before 5 p.m., Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) opened his reading of a proclamation of rededication of America to the Lord by calling it his singular assignment for the event.
Speaker Johnson’s governmental authority stemmed from President Donald J. Trump’s February declaration at the National Prayer Breakfast that the prayer gathering would be held to rededicate America as one nation under God, in light of its 250th anniversary.
Here’s the entirety of Speaker Johnson’s rededication:
Many spiritual leaders spoke, prayed, and encouraged the crowd, which may have reached 15,000 based on pre-event estimates by Freedom 250 organizers. Bishop Robert Barron rendered the official religious rededication. Bishop Barron serves as bishop of Winona-Rochester and founded Word on Fire Catholic Ministries.
An Eventful Day
Rededicate 250 opened with musical worship and speakers including a surprise behind-the-stage speaker.
Dan Taylor, who introduced himself as the voice who typically announced the next speaker or singer, read the original proclamation, which set May 17, 1776, as a national day of prayer and fasting — 250 years ago.
The opening of Rededicate 250 led into sections called pillars. Pillar 1 featured the miracles that formed and informed America. Pillar 2 comprised the miracles in our midst with testimonies, and Pillar 3 pointed to a new birth of faith by focusing on renewal and on the nation’s future.
The official rededication was the final section. A worship concert fittingly closed the day-long event.
Though the mood was mainly celebratory, several speakers — notably Bishop Kelvin Cobrias of New Life Church International — spoke on America’s history with slavery and how Christians led the abolition movement.
Governmental Heavy Hitters
In addition to Speaker Johnson, governmental leaders spoke in person and on video. Among these, Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) and former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Dr. Ben Carson made in-person appearances.
On video, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke movingly about the role God played in U.S. History. On video, Director of National Security Tulsi Gabbard also spoke about God, although she has proclaimed herself to be a Hindu. Vice President J.D. Vance, however, had the last word before the concert, quoting his personal friend, Charlie Kirk:
All law reflects a morality. Neither law nor morality appears in a vacuum but ultimately comes from religion, and the morality and religion that formed the American consciousness were decidedly Christian, founded upon the principles and the divinity of Jesus Christ.
Spiritual Heavy Hitters
Faith luminaries were in abundance. Among them were the Rev. Robert Jeffress and the Rev. Franklin Graham, who spoke via video. Pastor Paula White and Cardinal Timothy Dolan also spoke on video. Dr. Alveda King prayed fervently for America, and Dutch Sheets (who will be featured at IFA’s Rededicate America on the 3rd and 4th of July) prayed a short prayer after his friend Lou Engle that summarized the day and proclaimed the great weight it will carry:
Lord, we conclude this session by saying You are extending Your hand of mercy to this nation. Millions of prayers have been prayed today and for the past 30-40 years. You have accepted those prayers, and we say today is breakthrough day. Today is reconnection day. Today is re-covenant day. Today is the day that the outpouring of Your Spirit begins in our nation. We declare a new beginning for America in the mighty name of Jesus.
Rabbi Meir Soloveichik spoke of Irving Berlin and how he came to write God Bless America. In light of recent hostilities, Rabbi Soloveitchik also warned against antisemitism.
Retired and highly decorated General Patrick Brady revealed Jesus was his pilot when he flew a helicopter in Vietnam. According to General Brady, the Lord led him to rescue men, women, and children from combat zones. Further, the Lord led him to new strategies to overcome the very treacherous weather that pilots often confronted in the region.
Many other pastors and ministers spoke and prayed at the event, sharing inspiring stories and encouragement.
Cultural Leaders
Noted author Eric Metaxas summarized key events of American history, including when Revolutionary War soldiers were spared because of fog sent by the Lord. These stories are covered in his book Revolution.
Several other cultural leaders spoke or sang. Jonathan Roumie of The Chosen fame spoke of the importance of prayer. Sadie Robertson of Duck Dynasty shared the impact of a life through the story of her grandfather, Phil Robertson. And Laura Osnes, who played the lead in Broadway’s Cinderella, sang the national anthem with the Joint Armed Forces Color Guard.
Musical Offerings
The musical worship resounded, starting with an extensive set led by Andy Frank. Several military groups lifted instruments and voices to the Lord, while Hillsdale College, Liberty University, and Grand Canyon University shared their students’ talents.
The closing concert featured Blessing Offor opening for Chris Tomlin.
No Resting on Laurels
Rededicate 250 opened the hinge for IFA intercessors eager to see revival and reform come in abundance to America. As Pastor Engle said, the biblical nations returned to the Lord when their governmental head invited such rededication.
But our knees still need to hit the floor. IFA CEO and President David Kubal issued a challenge to us, calling Rededicate 250 “a national call to prayer from the highest office for the nation at a pivotal time in our history.”
Mr. Kubal called us to press into prayer with renewed clarity and faith; this is the intercessors’ moment, he said.
Lord, thank You for Your love for America and its people. Inspire the prayer, repentance, revival, renewal, and reformation we need to fulfill all Your plans for us, in Jesus’ Name.

It was such an honor to be there May 17. The highlights for me were: Lou Engle following the President’s speech from the Museum of the Bible in February, Dutch Sheets’ prayer, Mike Johnson’s wonderful presentation & Jentezen Franklin’s story about seeding the clouds. Lou, Dutch & Speaker Johnson carried such APOSTOLIC & PROPHETIC AUTHORITY, following the President’s historic declaration of the day to Rededicate our nation to God! I would have liked to see a First Nations representative & a representative from the judicial branch on the platform!
Thank you Lord! I was blessed You allowed me to be there and to add my agreement to the prayers of the brilliant servant leaders who spoke words of encouragement, repentance and restoration over our nation. May the Lord have His way in our midst! And may we be one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all! And may we agree together and ask Father to forgive us our sin, deliver us from evil, and heal our land! In Jesus name, I ask it Lord!
There was a REDEDICATE event in Corpus Christi on Sunday We have been in a drought that has gotten national coverage. The scripture 2 Chron 7:13 (“If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people;) wasn’t read but there was LOTS of repentance. That evening, God opened heaven and poured out RAIN & 1-6” is forecast for this week!!!! My heart is so full of gratitude and awe and PRAISE!!
I also attended the REDEDICATION at texas capitol on Sat, May 16. To rededicate it to Jesus. Both days were very powerful
Rededicate America is answered prayer thousands have prayed for, years and the beginning of transition into the restoration of our nation as it was always intended to be along global revival.
May the glory and mercy and power of God continue to be revealed and the Holy Spirit continue to guide us, infill us, and restore us individually and nationally. Globally.
I am so very grateful for all those obedient saints who pulled this event together and for all those who attended. I pray blessings beyond imagination upon them all.
I pray for this to be a true awakening of the church. This is our call and assignment here on earth.
I pray our nation and the church the Ekklesia fulfill God’s divine purpose to the fullest measure.,
May God’s kingdom come and perfect will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Thank you Jesus for Your sacrifice ,mercy and grace which makes this possible.
All glory be Yours forever and ever. Amen
I am not able to get out and about.
Sadly, I don’t think this was publicized early or as much as it should have been. Perhaps I missed the early notices, but for those who have to travel and reserve accommodations, there didn’t seem to be enough time. I could be wrong.
In any event, I thank God that some were able to attend.
God bless and protect you and all your loved ones eternally through Christ Jesus, Amen!
All that you shared was humbling and uplifting. God has heard our prayers and I am confident he will show favor and justice. Blessings to all who stand up for God’s desire for a return of those who have not given their lives to the Lord.
Powerful! Thank God for national leaders who stand strong for righteousness.
Rededicate 250hopefully will not be more smoke and mirrors,as our nation IS reaping what has been sown by the arrogant Americans who have no respect for human life. These people who are part of the abortion industry need to repent. They are holding us as Christians, hostage. All because of their arrogant, nose-in-the-air attitude. These people need to see the depths of their behavior, and how sinful it truly is. Until they change, God is not going to bless our nation like He has in the past.
If my People who are calledby my name shall humble themselves and pray, then I will forgive their sins and heal our land.
I was very moved by Pastor Andy Deane’s account of returning to God after a night of drunken partying when he woke to the chaos of 9/11 in New York.
I would like to see the video of his speech available on YouTube. I think it would really speak to people’s hearts.
The entire program is on YouTube. I have it embedded at https://www.richdrama.com/blog/post/rededicating-america-to-the-lord
Excellent coverage of this event! This is just wonderful! Thank you for sharing the details and building my faith as I read the article. Bless you both!
Thank you Jesus! I never thought I’d see the day. Praise God and hallelujah! Will continue to be praying fervently
Thank You Lord for a president who wanted to rededicate America to You,
We revere & honor You because You brought us into existence to be a light to the world. Thank You for Your mercy & faithfulness to us as a nation & as individuals! Bless all of our leaders & may Your will be done in America & the nations as it is in heaven.
Thank You that it has been declared that we are once again “One Nation Under God!”
Help us to love one another & obey Your laws.
In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!
I can’t wait to “slowly but surely” work my way thru this whole article reading all the clips & watching all the videos! This article is such thorough coverage of REDEDICATE 250! Thanks so much, Rich and Joyce Swingle & IFA, for filling us in on the details of this historic day in our nation’s capital! May God bless you & may God bless America!
I watched it from home. First of all I was saddened by the LACK of interest from the churches. No prayers in the Sunday morning services for our nation!!! No announcements about the event. Maybe our churches have to be notified from the head of their denominations. People can’t move out of their church and want Jesus. Honestly there are people who would want permission or the ‘GO’ from their pastors if Jesus came back.
I believe the ‘remnant’ are the groups that look beyond their church and want to grow. That is who you are reaching. Praise the Lord for the churches and pastors that want more!
Anyway I am loving the whole program and when Dutch Sheets friend came out and prayed I got on my knees (I am 75 and barely got back up) but I prayed with all my heart. The next morning I was listening to the morning part of the program on YouTube since I was at church on Sunday and while I was typing out my Bible study session on Acts I am teaching in a month someone was talking on the program and the Holy Spirit just fell on me. I had to stop what I was doing and felt overwhelmed with the Spirit. I just laid back in my chair and let the Holy Spirit do what He wanted to do. I just started crying. As I was trying to pray I couldn’t get it together but asked Him to fix my heart. That was all I could get out. I must have been like that for at least 15 minutes. The Lord will bless those who come seeking.
Sadly we need to work on getting the word out. I plan 6 months to go somewhere. But maybe 6 hours is too long to be outside and walk. I know I couldn’t do that. Maybe we need touring places like Women of Faith used to do. I went to a lot of states just to go to Women of Faith. The idea of really going to Washington DC is a panic-where would I stay, how would I get there, how far do I have to walk, where are the bathrooms, can I get water and food, etc. The program was great but the parts that I didn’t care for were the people that just came in to say a prayer or a comments and leave. Some just didn’t need to be there. This was a Christian program and some of the speakers especially the Catholics used God and refrained from talking about Jesus. I get the Rabbi. I loved him!. But how about a Messianic Rabbi. Jonathan Roumie was fantastic but all the jewelry on his hand and neck was a bit much it distracted his fantastic message which I am sure he didn’t think about. I loved Sen. Scott but talking about his ‘black’ testimony was kind of out of place but I climbed over that because he loves Jesus. The whole Message was wonderful but we need to get this in the churches. Like I sent maybe split off and take it too the churches. Go to churches that can hold 2000 people and ‘sell’ a ticket’ that makes committment. Do a whole Saturday event like Women of Faith did and Friday night too. But it needs to get in the churches. They need fire!!! Have the churches get involved. Like one from every denomination. I loved it but it was a lot of money. I pray that people will watch it on YouTube. It is hard with all the ads!!!!! Maybe break it up in sections. It is kind of like a movie where it doesn’t do so well in the Theaters but it is a big hit on NetFlix. We need to reach the people where they are.
I thank God for the many faithful who organize events like this, and for all who care enough to take part and pray for our beloved country. Thank God for His answers and mercy.
I pray for all CHRISTIAN leaders in our land every day. GOD, please look on our land as we humbly look to YOU and give us YOUR wisdom, and YOUR direction, and YOUR guidance as we work to think of ways to help our nation turn to YOU!!
My wifeDixie and I cried several times during Rededicate 250. We watched it all. One thing that stood out to us was how our decades of prayer for America were being answered; impactful prayers made in obscurity under the lead of Holy Spirit.
We understand many have done the same and we are so thankful this is true.
One example; concerned about weak presidential leadership from both parties I began seeking God for a prayer strategy that could correct it. Shortly afterward, we were comparing John Wayne’s original and Jeff Bridges remake of the True Grit movies – and Holy Spirit let us know with unambiguous emphasis that yes, part of what America needed was a president with True Grit.
Now we’ve got one!

Praise God, it was encouraging. Where were the Democratic Christians, however? “If my people called by my name,” means all backgrounds. That Democratic leaders who are Christians were silent is indicative of who controls their party. It is not God. I urge Christians in the Democratic party to choose today whom they will serve. Review the policies of your party. Do they reflect your heart, your faith, and Biblical truth? Take a stand for Christ. Stand for our founding principles. Remember, one cannot serve God and mammon.
Democratic Chriatian? That’s a new one. is that in the Bible? is it a new denomination? Beloved brothers and sisters, we are to read and study God’s Word and seek the Holy Spirit for clear understanding of God’s
Scriptures Rededicate 250 was an ecumenical gathering full of false spiritual leaders, who are Dominionists. Dominionist Theology, Seven Mt. Mandate, Manifest Sonship, Latter Day Rain, etc.. all rooted in anti-Biblical teaching. Do your research please!!! Jesus warned about deception, wolves in sheep’s clothing. which means they will appear like one of us, but examine their fruit, associates, beliefs, practices, listen to what they are saying. They use Biblical words, terms, Scriptures BUT have changed the meaning!!! That’s why God the Father seperates the tares from the wheat in the end as to not pull out any wheat (true followers of Messiah). Dave Kubal, Dutch Sheets, Lou Engle along with many others openly admit they are following Seven Mt. Mandate/Dominionist Theology. Whether they realize it or not, Whether it’s intentional or not. They are being deceived. America is NOT Israel. We can not claim Israel’s promises for USA. Just because a “so called Christian” says they support Israel does not mean the heart motive is pure. Many are selling books, and in it for money, recognition, popularity, and want to influence others to FOLLOW THEM. Who are you following? What are they saying? Is it really in the Bible? Does it really please YHVH the God of Israel? Follow the Real JESUS! Shalom
I believe Rededicate was an awesome time of worship and prayer. Men and women of God, not only on stage but in the crowd opened their hearts to the Lord to praise and worship Jesus. It was a good day for us at home to watch the service and even join in songs. Cannot wait until July 4, 2026.
very thankful for Rededicate, however, I am outraged my pastor said nothing about it on Sunday morning service here in Florida.
A church in the “Bible Belt” of Colorado actually brought in a speaker to denounce “Christian Nationalism” on this most sacred day of the Rededication of America. If not for our small but dedicated Prayer Group holding a separate watch party to which all were invited, it would not have been mentioned in my church either. Both very disappointing. But God reigns! Excellent coverage above. Thank you IFA for your reporting!
We could not find one church in Virginia Beach that said anything about Rededicating America back to God! My heart is broken for the church at large. Praying that in the Mighty Name of Jesus our pastors and churches will awaken to God’s call to rededicate our lives and our land back to Him Who alone is worthy of all praise, honor and glory, our Redeemer and King, Jesus!
I watched from France and I prayed and worshipped with you but I started falling asleep during Blessing Offor’s music. It was a blessing to me and for our Nation. REVIVAL!!!
In my opinion this was one of the most important time in the history of this nation, America! Evil has invaded our country and God is the ONLY way to defeat it. His Word says, “if only My people”. In other words He has been waiting for us to ask.
This is exactly what we did during this rededication. We asked … God heard us … now He will act. I believe that there has been a mighty change in the Spirit realm. God is on the move.
But it is NOT the time to sit back and think it is over. We must not believe that our part is over and that now God will take care of everything.
No … now is the time for us to unite with God and pray more then ever before, put on our armor every day. We need God to lead us but there is still much that God wants us to do too.
God wants us to partner with Him and do our part as He does His part. God has given each one of a part. Seek God and ask Him what you can do. We should pray, share the gospel message with others, seek God’s will in all things like voting, read & study God’s Word.
Most of all, we must not waste this anointed time. God is ready and He is moving. His heart cry to us is, “Please join me. I have things that only you can do. Ask Me and I will tell you.”
If you seek God you will find Him.
I’m soooo grateful to President Trump for this special pivotal day for our country, which will also positively affect the nations. Thank you slso IFA for informing us and all the work you do. Blessings
A much needed event! While I couldn’t actually attend, I was able to see part of the livestream. I’m sure it pleased the heart of the Father! The anointing on our national anthem is undeniable …all 4 verses are worth hearing/singing! Thank you to all who contributed…a wonderful spirit of unity!
A great day in history! First, we repented at the Esther Million Women Movement. Then, we had communion on the Washington Mall renewing our lives in communion with God. This event went beyond personal dedication and included the whole country rededicating themselves to God! It was a glorious day!
