Just weeks after helping to broker peace between Israel and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), President Trump has been nominated for the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.

The nomination submitted by Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian Parliament, lauded Trump for his efforts toward resolving protracted conflicts worldwide.

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, a four-term member of Parliament who also serves as chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, told Fox News in an exclusive interview.

Tybring-Gjedde, in his nomination letter to the Nobel Committee, said the Trump administration has played a key role in the establishment of relations between Israel and the UAE. “As it is expected other Middle Eastern countries will follow in the footsteps of the UAE, this agreement could be a game changer that will turn the Middle East into a region of cooperation and prosperity,” he wrote. . . .

Tybring-Gjedde, further, praised Trump for withdrawing a large number of troops from the Middle East. “Indeed, Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either starting a war or bringing the United States into an international armed conflict. The last president to avoid doing so was Peace Prize laureate Jimmy Carter,” he wrote.

This is not Trump’s first such nomination, as Tybring-Gjedde submitted one along with another Norwegian official in 2018 following the U.S. president’s Singapore summit with Kim Jong Un. Japan’s prime minister reportedly did the same. Trump did not win.

Tybring-Gjedde, a member of a conservative-leaning populist party in Norway, told Fox News that his latest nomination is not about trying to curry favor with the U.S. president. . . .

“I’m not a big Trump supporter,” he said. “The committee should look at the facts and judge him on the facts – not on the way he behaves sometimes. The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing.”

The 2009 Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to then-President Barack Obama for what the Nobel Committee called his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

That decision made just nine months into Obama’s first term was met with criticism in the U.S. – including from Donald Trump, then a private citizen. Lech Walesa, Poland’s former president and a 1983 Nobel laureate, also said at the time it was too early to bestow the award on Obama — just 263 days after taking office: “Too fast. For the time being Obama’s just making proposals. But sometimes the Nobel Committee awards the prize to encourage responsible action.” . . .

Besides Obama, three other U.S. presidents have won the Nobel Peace Prize: President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906 for “having negotiated peace in the Russo-Japanese war”; President Woodrow Wilson in 1920 for being the “leading architect of the League of Nations”; and President Jimmy Carter in 2002 for “his decades of untiring effort to find peaceful solutions to international conflicts.”

I strongly believe that President Trump has the God given ability to make international peace even the most difficult countries in the world.
He believes peace, not war . He is honored to receive a Noble Peace Prize. Thank You Lord!

Heavenly Father, please encourage President Trump that it is better to have self-control than to control cities. If your will is for President Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize, let it happen.

I feel that President Trump is extremely intelligent and gifted in many ways for his role as President of the USA and extremely passionate about restoring USA to greatness. i agree he has done more internationally to foster peace than others who received the award, and he has done more for America in one term than most presidents, but unfortunately people DO judge him by his other behavior which comes off as unprofessional, egotistical, spoiled, and big mouthed. If he would only learn to bite his tongue a bit and and how to turn the other cheek, giving God much more & deeper free reign in him to accomplish so much more! It’s encouraging to see how much God has already accomplished through him, but just think how much more if he would yield his tongue and himself even more fully to God and humility especially when it comes to his enemies. It seems he tries to fight his own battles with his mouth and social media constantly defending himself and retaliating verbally which i think interferes with how much God can do through him because the biggest blessings come to those who trust God in the battle and commit themselves fully to do things God’s way especially surrendering their tongue. The mouth reveals the heart. Father i pray for our amazing President that you teach him this lesson and true wisdom, and how to fully surrender himself, his tongue, and his battles to you, that you would train him in these things and give him peace in every side As you gave King Solomon. In Jesus Name, Amen.

i find your comments about this presidents behavioral remarks and attitudes to be deficient in faith toward an all powerful God uses who He uses and picks who he picks. This man is not God and is not powerful, he is only charismatic to a group of people with a common thread. He is a patriot but not a career politician by standards of the swamp. He is only called to expose the corruption of the swamp creatures by draining the swamp. You fail be giving him any credit or discredit for that matter for leading or saving this nation when God Himself is the orator and savior of all man and any nation. You and i actually have an equal part along with if not more than DJT in what becomes of “God bless America”. Prayers and proclamations of faith to God over the 7 mountain kingdom concerning the will and rule of heaven on earth will ultimately determine all outcomes. It is foolish on our part to think men are capable of ruling a nation on their own abilities, charisma, and merit. While we engage the kingdom through the political, judicial, social, and law making efforts of men let us consider when making our choices and judgements of parties and leaders no matter how great their speeches, responses, tolerances, etc. they are human not saviors. trusting even in your favorite party to save or fail us is sin. Our vote concerning the issues of our nation and our world should reside in heaven for that is where we truly citizens.

GM Father God:

Thank You for the privilege to pray. Thank You for allowing the Second Noble Peace Prize nomination for President Trump. Please keep President Trump eyes focus on You. Most of all we pray that Israel signing peace with UAE is according to Your plan for Israel. Father, You are the God that can fix any mistakes that we made. Please have mercy on President Trump if he didn’t know or understand of the Plan You have for Israel. Please give him wisdom and understanding so that he can act according to Your will.

In Jesus’ Name we pray and thank You, Father.
Amen.
