Throughout the past week, anti-Israel students have been setting up encampments on university campuses across the country to “protest” Israel’s retaliation against Hamas in Gaza. While some argue incorrectly that these demonstrations are acceptable and good, many others highlight just how antisemitic and illegal these so-called protests really are.

How Did These ‘Protests’ Begin?
This past week was not the beginning of anti-Israel sentiment on the Columbia University campus. As many observers point out, antisemitic and anti-Israel sentiments have been festering beneath the surface on that campus and on others for years. More recently, however, students on the Columbia campus began planning their massive encampment in the weeks and months following Hamas’ unprovoked attack on Israelis on October 7, 2023. Then, on April 17, the tents went up and the wave of “protests” began.
Who Is Behind These ‘Protests?’
We reported Thursday that big names and big money are behind these encampments. The students are being funded by Education for Just Peace in the Middle East, which gets its funding in turn from the Soros-founded Open Society Foundations and the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, among others.
On campus, however, there are several students who have been leading these “protests.” One such leader is Khymani James, who has threatened to kill Zionists, says that “Zionists don’t deserve to live,” and claims that a hypothetical American-sponsored murder of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “can absolutely be justified.” Perhaps most egregiously, James posted “free Palestine” on X — even while Hamas was still attacking Israel.
How Are the ‘Protests’ Going?
On April 18, Columbia President Minouche Shafik requested help from the New York Police Department. In response, the NYPD dismantled the encampment tents and arrested over 100 activists, including Isra Hirsi, daughter of U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar. This action, however, did not discourage the activists, who instead chose to keep up their encampment. This led to Shafik’s ordering all classes to be held virtually for the rest of the semester, on Monday, April 22. Then, on Friday, April 27, Columbia dropped its demand for the activists and students to disperse, and now the encampments remain up. Some politicians have visited the campus to express support for the encampments, such as Rep. Omar and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The action taken by the NYPD last Thursday caused outrage across the country, and similar encampments and deomonstrations began springing up on 60 campuses, across 31 states. Some of these encampments have seen police responses and arrests, but many have remained untouched. Jewish students at Columbia have spoken out, recounting stories of harassment and threats.
What Is Being Done About These ‘Protests?’
Beyond New York City, many other cities have sent in the police to deal with these activists. Police have responded to encampments and arrested individuals at 16 schools, including some of the most prestigious universities in America, such as Princeton and Yale. Republican governors such as Greg Abbott of Texas and Ron DeSantis of Florida have been especially aggressive in quelling these protests and silencing antisemitism. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson visited Columbia to publicly express his support for Jewish students across America and to call for Shafik’s resignation.
Counterprotests have also begun on and around the Columbia campus. Christian leaders Eric Metaxas and Sean Feucht visited the campus last week, aiming to counter the antisemitic spirit that has been running wild across the nation.
IFA has also been to Columbia to counter these encampments. IFA contributing writers Rich and Joyce Swingle visited the campus last week to partake in Feucht’s counterprotest, to pray the blood of Jesus over the whole situation, and to interview other Christian leaders on-site.

How You Can Pray About These ‘Protests’
As these encampments and protests continue, we encourage you to intercede.
- Pray against violence. Pray that all students would be kept safe amid the chaos and that those perpetuating the violence and harassment would be stopped.
- Pray for wisdom. Pray for guidance and wisdom for the leaders of these universities and of the cities and states. Pray that they would be able to shut down these encampments once and for all.
- Pray for Jewish students. Pray for the students who are being harassed, threatened, and made to feel unsafe on their own campuses simply because they are Jewish. Ask God to protect them from all harm.
- Pray for a widespread love of Israel. Pray that students, activists, and leaders alike would be able to see the truth about the Israel-Hamas conflict. Pray that they would all come to know and love Israel and the Jewish people, just as God does.
- Pray for revival. As Christian leaders gather to pray and worship, pray that revival would break out among the crowds of students.

Almighty loving heavenly Father, Lord Jesus and omniscient Holy Spirit:
1. We are so anxious for you to hasten your will and your way in ending this violence and any lingering semblance thereof. Please keep us ALL focused on YOU, and not the evil and darkness bombarding and surrounding (us, and) especially these students. Please keep all students safe amid this chaos and bring them through it, piercing the evil and darkness with YOUR LIGHT in them, glorifying YOU, and stifle those perpetuating the violence and harassment, whether through merciful awakening by Holy Spirit, confusion as in biblical times, paralyzing them or WHATEVER your all-knowing will prescribes.
2. Please bestow your guidance and wisdom on all of our leaders on every level (universities’ leaders, city, county, state and national officials, elected and appointed). Empower them to shut down these encampments once and for all. Inspire them to bless YOU with all glory for this empowerment and to restore YOU to their campuses, and even curriculums, eradicating the radical liberal left agenda of genocide, lgbtq and all other hateful extremism.
3. Please infuse the Jewish students with your unfathomable peace as you protectively bring them through this chaos of constant antagonistic threats, harassment, insecurity and intimidation. Give them the strength and fearlessness they’ll need. Most of all, dear God, please keep their focus ever-faithfully on YOU and not the pervasive evil.
4. Expand our love of Israel world-wide on all levels. Enlighten and convict mankind (and especially students, activists, and leaders alike) to: a. the truth about the Israel-Hamas conflict, and then b. to thank, praise, worship and glorify You for this blessing of enlightenment and conviction (which we could never attain on our own).
5. As Christian leaders gather to pray and worship, we desperately pray that revival would break out first, among the crowds of students and then the rest of mankind. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on Earth, as it is in Heaven. Amen.
My latest challenge: how does 1 change minds when we try to tell them: wear seatbelt; control anger; we all need to get saved; etc. First & foremost in my heart: pray God Deal with them. I believe only He Can Change hearts, though we need to witness. Probably close second, like Annette Capps recently reminded me: I can NOT “confront” that & that & that person(s); but I can Thru Jesus Christ come against the spirits that are controlling or using or affecting certain people. I speak confusion to the chants of today as God confused the languages of the days of nimrod that he will do it again. That he will bring down the foundations of Sorros and Rockefeller . Nothing, other than it is very sad that the police cannot deal with the protestors. It is disgusting what this country has become. Lord, we bind all of the evil spirits behind these protests in Your name. We loose a spirit of decency and wisdom on all of the deceived protestors.
Pray for Revival! Pray that God will save a multitude of students at these encampments. Pray that the church will arise and pray 24/7 at the encampments and from their homes….for God to salvation them!

We must stand up for Israel! Anyone who curses Israel will be cursed… That is basic to the Abraham Covenant. If Biden stays on the path he is on, this Nation will be cursed. The only reason this nation has been blessed is because of our support for Israel. We must reeducate the students from the evil of wokism and not only their contempt for our country but more importantly their contempt for God!
Why dont campuses put a stop to this encsmpment is it sfter all. A school. The students cant get to class the campus is lossing money.

Thanks, Shirley! Wow! This could be a week-long prayer/discussion, at LEAST! Probably, your single-most important plea is: “Help us to declare your saving grace in unison with our fellow Christians.” That is, IF that’s meant to say that we need to share Christ with non-Christians. Since that’s usually pretty difficult to do, it circles back to your opening admonition “…let us declare how great our God is!”. Staying focused on that (God’s greatness) is how David defeated Goliath (being such a giant that, how could he MISS?!?!). Secondly, and maybe something, itself, to pray about is this. There seems (to ME) to be a dichotomy about truth. I perceive that we humans:
1. often resist truth, as a defense mechanism. If we accept it, then we have to admit that we were initially wrong, which could translate, at least, to ourselves, as “stupid/gullible/naive’,” etc. (– and to God as pride!) Hmm!
2. secretly(?) CRAVE truth, as a genuine and ultimate freeing mechanism (our heart’s hole, which ONLY God can fill).
Hopefully, this perspective can help (HELP) to ease the task of sharing the gospel of Christ to all of God’s beloved children, who, sadly, are currently in danger of eternal damnation. There is right time for every endeavor.
This time, is a time to act and to act quickly!
To remove those Presidents of these colleges.
To send foreign students who took part in these riots back to their own homeland.
For parents to withdraw their children who took part in these uprisings at these schools, so that they can teach them American values which obviously they have not yet learned.
For companies to withdraw their generous support of these so-called colleges.
And most importantly, to appoint appropriate protection for the Jewish students and scholars who now live in fear.

perhaps the Lord is drawing the rebellious in these large groups for this purpose…perhaps much like at the 1st Pentecost, when they hear the Truth spoken they will be:
cut to the heart and say, “what shall we do?”
They will hear:
“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
They will:
be baptized and the number day by day of those being saved will be increased abundantly.

The protests oppose the destruction and killing in Gaza. It is just human to oppose the 34000 deaths and starvation that is happening there. Defending the ongoing, unjust war is wrong. Trying to frame it as Antisemitic is justifying the evil. The protests are spontaneous reaction to the images of Gaza carnage. I don’t understand how can anybody see them and not feel outraged. Media are ignoring the fact that significant percentage of protesters are Jews who do not agree with Netanyahu war.

Such a sad state of things here in USA, but according to financial records posted on Telegram, and may now be posted in other places. Other countries who support Hamas, have been sending great amounts of monies under a protected “no-name having to be reported” by the contributors protection of some kind to these universities. The contributors of these huge sums of money contributions to the universities are and have not been disclosed to anyone but the universities. So for years and years unamerican doctrines have been secretly taught by professors who are not necessarily in agreement with USA such as when students are screaming at the top of their lungs: “death to America”. That is an example of young people who are only following a rhetoric taught to them by memory and not even thinking of what they are saying because we are all in America! Point made…… What is not right here!
I would also look into the political contributions received by our politicians, grants to universities, and gifts (like a free trip to Israel by junior members of Congress) that influence the response to the war in Gaza.

Wake up Church goers and accept Jesus to control your entire life not only during Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings! Students now are coming from countries where they don’t learn about our Constitution and our Christian principles are being step on!

In most cases the violence happened after the police showed up. Trying to describe the protests as violent is an attempt to obstruct the fact that the protests are against the genocide in Gaza.

Call out the student leaders of Cru, InterVarsity, Navigators, and others, to be a witness to your love and faithfulness to Israel. Give them creative ways to stand against all the lies, and give some of these protesters a chance to hear the truth!

This was also what happened during World War I, when the Jews were being exterminated. Dear Lord and Father God, we live in precarious times but this not unknown to You. You know the enemy. You hear the malicious words and see every plan of rebellion before they are even executed. You know intimately, each person involved in this vicious behavior. Please hear our prayers for protection. I pray You will shoot down every wicked plan and You will wound each individual from funder to protestor. I pray they will turn upon each other but ultimately understand that their ruin is a result of Your action. In that moment of realization, may they proclaim Your works and ponder what You have done. We rejoice in You. We take refuge in You. We exalt the Triune God of Israel, American and all nations…Father, Son and Holy Spirit. May these who we pray for do the same! You are 100 percent, all the time Lord. I pray Your best for Your Glory and Your best for our good. Amen
Let the love of God invade these campuses. Lord, let truth come forth as You open the eyes of those who oppose Israel. Strengthen and encourage the Christians on the campuses.

Praying for the Holy Spirit to move through every university calming and changing the atmosphere for the love of God and his wisdom to permeate hearts and minds. Comfort to the Jewish students and truth and resolve for those in charge to stand for truth and not back down. In Jesus’ precious name.
The only hope we have is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I pray for young men and women to be filled with boldness and courage empowered by the Holy Spirit to go to the front lines and confront these students with the truth of the Gospel. That they will go forth in the spirit of Elijah. Also, they will be backed up by the leaders of our churches through intercessory prayer and furnishing their financial needs. This entire uprising is spiritual.

Father, We come before you and we pray for confusion in the enemy’s camp to stop all of the enemy’s plans where they are protesting and gathering. We pray that the truth of who is financing and backing these persons/groups will be revealed to the world. We pray that the leadership on the campuses will be held responsible and liable for allowing students and non students to cause distractions and chaos creating unsafe situations on campuses for other students. That the truth of what actually happened on Oct 7, 2023 be made known throughout the world and we ask this in the mighty name of Yeshua Hamashia, the alpha and the omega, amen
Dearest Heavenly Father, I pray that you will continue to fight for and protect your people Israel. You are a God of order not chaos and I pray your perfect will be done. Help those in charge in America realize these individuals are standing on our soil saying and doing horrible things, not only to Jewish people but also crying death to America while they partake of the comforts you have blessed us with. Help all of America come to their senses and see that once they think they have eradicated the Jewish, they will next come for the Christians. Help our elected officials do their job and rescind any and all visas of those that are arrested in these unlawful protests and expel them from our country. We call into remembrance that you promise to bless those who bless Israel and curse those that curse Israel. We trust you, we know your promises are true and real and we stand on your word.

It is time for the Church to see that God is wanting His people to make aliyah – to return to Israel – where eventually all Israel will be saved (Zech. 12:10).
It is right and just to stand against anti-Semitism and anti-Zionism, but to not see the hand of God releasing the hunters to chase His people home (Jer. 16:16) is to miss that which He is doing with all of His heart and soul (Jer. 32:41-44).
Also, the aliyah is declared to be for His glory – for His holy name’s sake (Isa. 43:5-7; Ezek. 36:23-24, plus many other verses).
And this issue – that God’s name would be sanctified on earth – is the first issue that Messiah Yeshua told us to pray for (Luke 11:2).
So do pray about these violent protests and pray for mercy on these deceived protestors, but please also pray for this explosion of anti-Semitism throughout the West to literally scare the “living exile” out of the Jews.

be stopped across America. By the power of Your Holy Spirit fill the hearts and minds of protestors
with truth, and cause those filled with hatred and rebellion, to know the love of Jesus. Bring peace and
sanity to campuses across America. Amen.
PRAYING AGAINST ATTACKS ON ISRAEL!
There is a need I keep hearing from the Lord that says these pro terrorists must hear the truth about the attack perpetrated on unarmed civilians in Isreal and that Hamas baked babies unable to defend themselves, beheaded people, killed children and took hostages. Those are not peaceful acts. Also they need to be reminded that these are terrorists who seek genocide against the Jewish people have also called death to all Americans. The students in this country need to be asked point blank why they align with a people who want to destroy them and this country.
So many prayer warriors pray for God’s heart. It is His will and heart to see His people restored to the land He promised to His friend Abraham. When God blesses us with His heart’s desire, we can’t help but cry out for His people’s salvation, protection, and deliverance. May you, oh Lord, bless Your church with Your heart and love for Israel.
