Can we all learn something from Claudine Gay’s downfall? This opinion piece from Newsweek asks some tough questions.

From Newsweek. After weeks of speculation about whether Harvard University’s president, Claudine Gay, would be forced to resign amid a plagiarism and antisemitism scandal, Gay announced that she was stepping down. In her resignation letter, Gay spoke of “personal attacks and threats fueled by racial animus,” and made no mention of her failure to properly address antisemitism or the never-ending allegations of plagiarism against her rather limited record of scholarship.

Let the IFA community know how to pray for you.

Gay, who exploited race to reach the pinnacle of Harvard, chose to blame racism on her way out the door.

When I first learned of Gay’s fate, I thought back to one of the earliest lessons of my youth. The women and men that visited my parents at our Bay Area home always told me to never use race as an excuse. They said that the same attitude went for the profound hearing loss that I was born with. …

Yet my black elders knew on an instinctual level that to give in to race and racism was to give immutable characteristics power over individual identity and character. … They knew that giving in, identifying with the race that the racist saw, would have led them into the trap of endless victimization. …

Needless to say, Claudine Gay comes from a different stock. … The power of white guilt would compensate for any shortcomings she may have and propel her to the top.

Whether she was conscious of it or not, Claudine Gay’s entire life was organized around race. …

We’ve made diversity our most prized virtue, believing that if we lift it high enough, we can hide the stink of America’s racist past. …

Those around us who agreed to place race before humanity were rewarded in various ways, including with cheap lawn signs that signaled virtue to their neighbors. The leaders among these Leftists rode the exploitation of white guilt to dizzying heights—including to the presidency of Harvard. …

Once, as a young boy, I gave in to self-pity and told one of my elders that life would be much easier if I wasn’t deaf and being bullied everyday. She responded with a question: “Who are you?” …

It took me a long time before I understood her message. … She was pulling me away from giving power to my immutable characteristics by focusing on the true power in life: developing oneself into a strong individual with the power to contribute positively to society. Who are you?

That’s what America is supposed to be about. That was the path the women and men of my youth took in life. Let’s teach our young people to be like my elders—not Claudine Gay.

“Diversity” has come to dominate every aspect of American life. Share your prayers below for an end to DEI (diversity, equity, inclusion) philosophies.

Lord, please help us remove racist agendas from this country and look at each other as human beings without any special treatment just because of a person’s race.

DEI and CRT are Institutionalized racism. The left labels something else Institutionalized racism, then they go and do exactly that. But the term is already used for something, so it how can it possibly be what they are pushing.. Does anyone remember Barack Obama’s comment he made “in order to bring a group of people up, you must bring another down”. ? And guilt ridden white people fall for the garbage. When he makes seemingly off-handed comments, put on your seat belt. It’s what’s happening now. He made another comment how he would love to be a person behind the scenes pulling strings…. Hmmm.

The other day I went to urgent care. I sat next to a black woman. We struck up a conversation, within a few words I knew she was also a Christian. I asked her and she affirmed it. She gave me testimonies to the power of God. I enjoyed the conversation. It is not so with everyone, some have such a chip on their shoulder. The answer to all this is revival – God is the only one who can redeem us!

Loved this article – at our founding and going forward we were a nation of “overcomers” – overcoming adversity, setbacks, circumstances – that was the American dream – it was why people came here – they came to have the freedom and the opportunity to rise above life’s obstacles and challenges and with hard work and merit achieve success. We were the opposite of the caste system in India, for example, there your identity at birth sealed your lot in life. It was not up to the individual to make what he would of his God given life. But in a free meritocracy everyone can pursue their dreams and abilities. We rooted for the underdog. We loved “rags to riches” stories of people that achieved their goals through perseverance and hard work, succeeding against all odds. Those were the people we revered and honored.
So why now does our culture hold up victims as the ones we should esteem somehow? The status seems to be – who is the most oppressed? With victimhood comes blame, so no one is ever responsible for their own actions or their subsequent lot in life. The biographies of old were always of overcomers, those who had made something of their lives despite obstacles and difficulties – look at Wilma Rudolf or Harriet Tubman or Dr. Carol Swain today. The world is full of success stories but we are force fed the stories of the “glorified” oppressed twenty-four/seven. No wonder our young people only have victims for role models which leads to entitlement, self-centeredness and lack of growth. Our country exists because some were selfless and had a vision of a better life for ALL people.
The question from this article that we each must answer – “Who are you?” is indeed pivotal for each of us individually and consequently for society. The answer? We are God’s workmanship, created in His image, His dearly loved children. The answer? is found in Romans 8 – “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” We are told that Christ is at the right hand of God interceding for us and that nothing shall separate us from His love! We are His image bearers. We are intended to live victorious lives through Christ. We were designed to be overcomers not victims! “I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.” (Philippians 4:13) Thank You Lord for this wonderful truth! http://www.mtothe5th.wordpress.com (post – the God of DEI)

May we pray for Claudine Gay – for the salvation of her soul – that God may lift the veil, open her eyes to His truth and heal her hardened heart and may His greater good come into her life and may she see His glory, love and peace manifested in her life- spilling out and over all she comes in contact with ❤️

What a shame and a waste of humanity. Until excellence, competence, individual success, and morality return, we will continue to see this absurd behavior. God and civilization requires the best of us. Each of us has a unique “best”. We’re not guaranteed anything and we’re not all going to receive equal results. God grants each of us gifts and they are unique to each individual. We must earn our own success otherwise we can’t own it.

Racism is a matter of the heart. Jesus is Lord of our hearts or He’s not. Praise God that He’s interested in our children and will remove all who stand in the way of their well-being. It’s best to pray His enemies be saved or removed from any influence bringing discord and division. They would be better off if a millstone were tied around their neck and thru be thrown into the deepest sea. Do them a favor as they may come to salvation if tossed out of office.

Johnnie Enlow is another leading the way for we the church to wake up. Many are in a mode of passive decline as they wait for Jesus to return. He’s coming back for a victorious bride so wake up. Get up. And fight. We are His worshiping army. Psalm 24 for 2024.

Gay sadly sums up the epitome of racism. Her achievements, built on falsehoods & lies, stem from the attitude that it’s okay to “use the system” to advance in life – with no consequences for lies or plagiarism, etc. Harvard says they want to set an example of leadership for our nation. I suggest they start with honesty, integrity & real vetting of who they hire. And leave behind D.E.I.. And I highly recommend they fire half their instructors.

If you travel I20 through Dallas you drive past a large church ,(13000+members) with a huge billboard proclaiming BLACK LIVES MATTER. If you view their website you quickly discover a viewpoint of “connecting people to Jesus and fighting for justice”… The website speaks of justice much more than it does Jesus.
The following is only an opinion of an old white guy…. America is being polarized by this focus. Liberal viewpoints are very typical among the members of these churches.I have had friends who go to similar churches try to explain to me why the black race is still being persecuted. I genuinely tried but failed to conceive his views.
It is very simply a matter of Satans attempt to , not only divide our nation, but also divide our churches in the same way he has created divisions in our political parties. The genuine Love of Jesus Christ our savior is VASTLY above any racial
Issues.
Dear Father God.. we come to you in your son Jesus’s name and participate in his love for all of America. May your Kingdom come and your Will be done, Hallelujah!!!

    Amen!
And to add to your comment: I am saddened and disgusted with these places that have usurped the name “church”, trying to deceive people into believing they are of Almighty God. We, as true believers in Jesus Christ, need to be wise as serpents and gentle as doves, not falling into the trap of believing that every “church” is of Him. His Holy Spirit and His Word will reveal the wolves in sheep’s clothing.
Thank you for your comments and testimony of what you saw!

Lord, we pray for sleeping churches that “proclaim Your name” but have gone astray, allowed deception to rule instead of You — we pray for a great awakening from the people & their leadership. We are grieved at our lack of repentance in so many who acknowledge you as Savior…. but by their actions, we see that you are NOT their Lord. Pour out your spirit to awaken & revive us Lord. Amen.

Very interesting. I was a teacher. A 7th grader said to me,”You don’t like me because I am black. “I replied,”I don’t care what color a person is outside. I only care what color you are inside. ” I like the way this article thinks it through.

We all bleed red…and that song I learned before nursery school is sooo true and worth repeating!
🎼Jesus loves the little children of the world, all the children of the world, red, yellow, black and white, Jesus loves the little children of the world.🎶
We, HIS children, HIS Bride, HIS royal priesthood need to remember WHOSE we are because HE defines and refines who we are.
