He conveys the five principles of effective prayer that Jesus taught in the Sermon on the Mount: 1) Honor God, 2) Base your prayer on the word/will of God, 3) Pray with assurance God is concerned for your daily needs, 4) Remove all hindrances when you pray, and 5) Petition to defeat any temptation.

Pray. Pray without ceasing. Pray for peace in the marketplace and peace in the halls of learning. Pray for peace where there is no peace. Pray for continued peace where there is peace. Pray for peace in the hearts of our government officials, our leaders, out counselors, our jurists, and our warriors. Pray for personal peace and unified peace and local peace and national and world peace.
And then pray thanksgiving for God’s peace. Prayer changes things.
