House Vote in Defense of Gas-Powered Vehicles
House Vote in Defense of Gas-Powered Vehicles
As the Biden continues to target gas-powered vehicles and their owners, the House has moved to stop him.
From Fox News. The House voted Wednesday evening in favor of legislation striking down federal regulations targeting gas-powered vehicles which, according to the White House, are designed to “accelerate the transition to electric vehicles.”

In a 221-197 vote, the House approved the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act with 216 Republicans and five Democrats voting in favor. A group of more than a dozen Republican lawmakers, led by Reps. Tim Walberg, R-Mich., and Andrew Clyde, R-Ga., introduced the legislation in July in response to the Biden administration’s tailpipe emissions regulations unveiled months earlier. …
The CARS Act would particularly block regulations proposed in April by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), which would significantly increase tailpipe emissions standards for gas-powered cars. The bill would also prohibit any rule mandating the use of a specific technology or regulations that limit the availability of new vehicles based on engine type.
If the EPA rule is finalized, the White House projected that a staggering 67% of new sedan, crossover, SUV and light truck purchases and up to 50% of bus and garbage truck purchases could be electric by 2032. …
Opponents of EPA’s actions — which are part of the Biden administration’s broader effort to increase EV ownership in the U.S. and fight global warming by curbing carbon emissions produced by the transportation sector — have argued the new standards would ultimately harm consumers through higher costs and by forcing them to buy certain vehicles.
They have also argued that a large EV push will benefit Chinese industry which currently dominates global EV battery supply chains. …
Following the vote Wednesday, the CARS Act now moves to the Senate, where it has already received bipartisan support. However, the White House said in a statement Monday that President Biden would veto the CARS Act if it is passed.

President Biden himself should travel in electric vehicles only, to show us he is serious about it.
The United States government should never be in a position to mandate modes of transportation for the reasons expressed in your article, and more. Further, to require EV vehicles would seriously erode our national security. Can anyone imagine having our military idled whill awaiting their vehicles to charge while the enemy is attacking. It would seriously slow our logistics systems responsiveness and make us even more vulnerable to the enemy. Lord, we pray for leadership that understands America’s needs. We pray that our nation’s freedoms, safety and security be foremost in the eyes of our leaders and in the citizens hands who vote for that leadership.
Lord, we pray for the passage of the CARS Act, or similar legislation which would allow gas-powered vehicles to be in production and in the market unhindered. We pray for the removal of any hindrances from the passage of such an Act, even under the threat of a veto by the President. We appeal to heaven O Lord, to the Righteous One, and ask that the people of this nation be provided the freedom of choice, and that any and all manipulative agendas behind EV be put to shame and come to nothing. In the matchless name of Jesus, we look to our Lord who is able to do exceedingly above all that we can ask or think. We humbly ask for your hand and heart to be moved to act on behalf of freedom, for You love to act in mercy.
