House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) rejected all eight of Republicans’ requested witnesses, claiming they fall “outside the parameters of the impeachment inquiry.”

Ranking member Doug Collins (R-Ga.) and his Republican colleagues on the committee on Dec. 6 asked Nadler for eight witnesses, including the person who filed a complaint against President Donald Trump, former Vice President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, and Fusion GPS contractor Nellie Ohr, who helped compile the infamous Steele dossier at the center of the Russia probe.

Collins also asked to have House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) testify under oath.

“There is no indication the Judiciary Committee will hold any hearings with fact witnesses, and instead, will have to rely on a report written by Chairman Schiff and his staff,” Collins wrote.

“As the author of the Intelligence Committee report and the chief prosecutor for the House, it is imperative that Chairman Schiff testify before this committee and entertain questions from duly elected Members of Congress. At a minimum, he should testify about his report, just as Special Counsel Robert Mueller and Independent Counsel Ken Starr testified to this Committee about their reports.”

He also asserted that Trump “should be afforded the opportunity to confront his accusers” as cause to call the whistleblower to testify.

The other witnesses requested included a person who spoke with National Security Council official Alexander Vindman about Trump’s July phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky; Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden; and Democratic National Committee contractor Alexandra Chalupa, who met with Ukrainian officials during the 2016 election to dig up dirt on the Trump campaign.

Nadler noted in his letter to Collins on Dec. 9 that the Judiciary Committee shelved motions to call Schiff and the whistleblower to testify and said he sees “no reason to reconsider those requests.”

Five of the other witnesses Collins requested were already requested by House Intelligence ranking member Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) and rejected by Schiff, who said the impeachment inquiry wasn’t going to be used “as a vehicle to undertake the same sham investigations into the Bidens or 2016 that the President pressed Ukraine to conduct for his personal political benefit.”

“I concur in Chairman Schiff’s assessment and also find that these requests [fall] outside the parameters of the impeachment inquiry as set forth in the report issued by the Rules Committee to accompany H. Res. 660,” Nadler said.

He said the eighth witness—the person in the intelligence community who spoke to Vindman about Trump’s call—also falls outside the parameters.

Nadler said he would schedule a meeting at the end of the hearing on Dec. 9 if Collins decides to subpoena any of the witnesses. Because Democrats control the House and have the majority in each committee, subpoena requests would likely be voted down.

Father God, I ask that You reveal the TRUTH in this event, including the evil the left has done. Show them up for what they really are, and let the Christians who are blinded to the truth open their eyes to YOU, and what You are doing. I’m appalled at how many “Christians” are against our President that You clearly put in place. They would rather vote for all the evil things the left believes in, even though it is against Your Word. Father, PLEASE open their spiritual eyes! Thank You in Jesus’ name!

Father GOD,
First, I thank You for the ways in which You draw us into deeper and deeper conversation with You when we know that our minds are being challenged to pray in ways that seem enigmatic to us. We rejoice that You have given us Holy Spirit and “unknown” tongues that are attuned to Your perfect will when we move beyond praying with “understanding” to praying with the Spirit. You are ever-ready to receive our offerings and continue to renew our minds as we ingest the Scriptures to aid in our understanding of how YOU, DADDY “do things.” We also rejoice that it is Your goodness as the BEST DADDY in (and beyond) the universe) that leads us to repentance. Father, You know that sometimes in fear and anger, we are tempted to pray in ways that do not align with Your character. Too often, in our fallible judgment, wanting what we call “justice,” we attempt to weigh punishment with related crimes; and in indignation, we forget Your primary characteristic of unimaginable forgiveness. We may want revenge or “example” to “encourage” others not to repeat wrongdoings. However, Father, You lead us to our knees in repentance – changing the way we think – to the way YOU think. Thank You, Father, for being so good to us. Father, it is our hearts’ desire to pray in a way over our governmental officials that brings great increase to Your Kingdom. We desire to follow Your example in wanting ALL men (of course, including women and children) to be saved – to know You in the fullness of Your majesty and might. Continue to help us gain the insight, understanding, discretion, humility, grace and mercy that would serve You well. Let our words be pleasing and our actions filled with Your fruit. May there be a grand harvest, of souls we might find questionable, so that we, with the angels, rejoice at the furtherance of surrender to Your gospel. Father, we CHOOSE to harbor no animosity toward those with minds which have not been regenerated. We choose to bring water to the thirsty and freedom to the captives. Thank You, Holy Spirit, for being the power now resident in us that brought JESUS out of the wilderness in power and victory. We choose to look at denying ourselves as a privilege, with each step, each choice bringing honor to You alone. As complex as all the scheming and secrecy seems, we thank You that nothing escapes Your attention and nothing is beyond Your ability to work all things together for good to those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (some of whom are still in process of receiving and walking in that revelation. The only goodness we seek is continued transformation into Your likeness. We defer to Your omniscience while we seek You first and set our minds on things above, as we press toward the mark for the prize for Your high calling on each of our lives. May You be abundantly blessed as we continue to love You with all our hearts, minds, souls and strength. Amen.

Father! Help us see Your hand even when we see evil in plain sight appearing as though it is winning! Help us to not be discouraged when we see the mockery of our government officials-the blatant evil. Oh God help us.
