It’s over, and we are thankful.
It was a 50-50 procedural vote along party lines, but H.R. 1/S.1, the supposed “For the People Act” has been blocked by Senate Republicans. Sixty votes were needed in order to open debate on this legislation before entering into a vote on the actual bill. Because the Republicans were able to successfully filibuster, that 60 vote threshold was not met. The legislation is now dead on the Senate floor.
Any way you slice it, if H.R. 1/S.1 had passed, it would have been a wholesale takeover of elections by Federal fiat. Democrats and the Left have been alarmed at the election integrity measures that state legislatures have moved to implement in the aftermath of the 2020 Election, and H.R. 1/S.1 was their effort to kill these measures.
My colleague Shipwreckcrew rightly called it the “Permanent Democrat Rule Act”:
HR1 is a collection of election law “reforms” meant to dictate to states the manner by which all states shall conduct their elections in the future, mandating certain voting practices be followed while making other voting practices illegal.
You can fit the classifications into two categories: 1) changes in voting processes and procedures that are designed to increase the gross total of votes cast in each election; and 2) changes in voting practices and procedures designed to eliminate any effort to improve or protect ballot integrity. Here is a general summary of the key provisions with regard to voting procedures mandated and prohibited:
Mandated:
“No excuse” mail-in voting for all voters in all states.
15 days of early voting for any election including federal offices.
Automatic voter registration — unless the individual opts out — upon the submission of personal information (name, address) to any state agency for any purpose.
Online voter registration up to and including on election day.
Automatic restoration of voting rights to felons.
Allowing “ballot harvesting” by third parties.
Counting of illegal aliens among state populations fo purpose of determining number of congressional districts in each state.
Public financing by creating “$6 to $1” match of federal funds against small-donor campaign contributions of $200 or less.
Prohibited:
No voter ID requirements.
No purging of voter rolls.
No signature matching for mail-in ballots.
No redistricting by legislative bodies in the States — only by non-partisan commissions.
No disqualification of ballots for “out of precinct” voting.
Or even shorter, “We can cheat with impunity, and there’s nothing you can do about it.” . . .
In an evenly divided Senate, this defeat would not have been possible without the filibuster, and the Democrats knew this. The removal of the filibuster was a scorching topic of debate preceding this Senate vote. Democrat Sens. Kyrsten Sinema (AZ Badass) and Joe Manchin (WV Shifty) held the line against nuking the filibuster, although Manchin made noises about it needing to be reformed. While both Senators voted with their party on the procedural vote, we owe them a debt for Republicans being able to maintain and use the filibuster.

It is not wise to put out a headline stating that H1/S1 is dead. It is not. There is already another bill that is every bit as bad, so if H1/S1 failed, the Democratic Socialist Party was ready with another one to push forth. The devil is relentless. Sen Manchin has already stated that he would vote in favor of that bill.
This headline is dangerous because it leads people to believe the fight is over.
It is NOT. Our nation has had the cancer of socialism/marxism for decades growing within her. We are now into stage 4. Fight by educating your family members, church members, neighbors even your local legislature. We must fight just as our Founding Fathers and Americans did during the American Revolution.
Lord, help us, Your people. Forgive us Lord, because we have left Your ways. The minds of men today are as in the days of Noah. Please forgive us and heal our land. In Jesus name. Amen

Praise God Almighty that this Democratic power grab was finally stopped dead in its tracks. However, beware of fractional aspects of H.R. 1/S. 1 to be taken up by our state legislatures. It’s not the time to relax, or tick off an accomplishment box; we must remain wary & vigilant & ever attentive to Holy Spirit’s guidance. Godspeed & His peace & grace be with us all.

I prayed fervently for Senators Manchin and Sinema. I also called and thanked them. I don’t really know their motives but I hope it includes a realization that the Left and Right actually need one another and any true seismic shift in power by one side or the other can be catastrophic.
The Left is not evil. Its current iteration has swung too far and has essentially become a totalitarian mindset. At its best the Left is the side that provides for everyone despite their worth to society. The Right is the side that maintains the meritocracy that keeps our society from having a relative nobility of class and gives everyone a chance to play the game. This balance keeps America the bright shining beacon that God intended it to be.
Praise God for representatives, Senators who are paying attention and using wisdom of vote, even filibuster, to keep dangerous bills like HR1 from becoming law. HR1, proves obvious unlawful and disrespectful motives of the Dems toward American citizens who desire honesty and integrity in our voting laws. May God continue to protect our Constitution and the people ruled by it, from Communism in any form. With authority of the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we declare the enemies of the United States of America and it’s foundations of peace and order, will be exposed and removed from any position of power. May God raise up men and women of integrity and moral strength to stand firm in their fight for truth and God’s blessing over those who love and cherish the freedoms He has given us. Amen

Also what’s was left out of this article is the tax dollars would be used to FUND the incumbent campaign at $6 to $1 raised. Next, PAC and other organizations would have to disclose all amounts that private donors contributed too. Both were rarely talked about but are extremely troubling.
Next, it will be the Lewis voting Act bill that will try another way to federalize the election but use the CORRUPT DOJ as the enforcement.
Plus if you didn’t notice both Abrams and Warrinck back pedeled about Voter ID once they realized 80% polled want voter I’d.
Continue to pray that all evil agendas will be hindered.
Is not the bill a violation of the Tenth Amendment? Yes!!! Even conservative or Christian radio has rarely-rarely mentioned this on their talk shows.
Thank you Lord for this victory! We have only you to thank and trust. Please preserve the filibuster, let it not be removed. And please continue to work in the hearts of Joe Manchin and Krysten Sinema to make the right decisions, and move also in the hearts of other Democrats. Wake them up and give them courage to do what’s right. Cleanse that party and our government of the evil that has taken them over. In Jesus’ name we pray.
Praise God. This is a major victory for sanity and integrity in our elections. Please, Lord Jesus, may this voting down of radical legislation attempts happen frequently. Our nation cannot afford to have our system of elections, or any other aspect of government to be hijacked by the radicals.Please, Lord, let sanity and wisdom prevail. In Jesus’ name .

It may have been temporarily blocked, but it is NOT DEAD !!! Anyone who thinks the Dems will now just give up and go away is beyond hope.
Which is why we must remain alert regarding the Democrats’ future moves, learning from their past movements. I don’t think we intercessors are going off to sleep. We need to remain as watchers on the wall.
Let’s just pause with this latest news and celebrate what God has done.
Heavenly Father, thank you for hearing and acting on our prayers. You have handed us victory over this latest, most serious, battle. We bring You our humble thanks for Your protective hand over our nation. We offer up praise for You, Holy One, and exalt You as our Sovereign Lord. We are thankful for Your love. Please touch the hearts of our elected officials and voters alike that they may turn from wicked practices and sin against You. May our nation undergo revival and return to be a God-fearing people.
