I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray for understanding and clarity in the hearts and minds of all people. We pray that you would silence the lies of the enemy about Ukraine. Burn away the dross of this misinformation, allowing only your truth to remain.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

In such a difficult time, fake stories are bound to crop up. As Christians, it is important that we look for the truth in all things, especially in the top news of the day.

From The National Pulse. A number of popular stories chronicling Ukraine’s resistance against Russia’s ongoing invasion – including those promoted by U.S. Congressmen, media outlets, and even conservatives online – have turned out to be false, despite garnering millions of shares and likes….

1. The Snake Island “Martyrs.”

Thirteen Ukrainian border guards stationed on the country’s Snake Island, located in the Black Sea, were quickly alleged to have been killed by Russian forces, at the onset of Russia’s invasion. Audio recordings of what was allegedly their final moment went viral on social media, with a Russian warship demanding: “I ask you to lay down your arms and surrender to avoid bloodshed and unnecessary deaths. Otherwise, you will be bombed….”

The 13 Ukrainians, the country’s president Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, died “heroically.” He later promised to recognize each solder with the title of Hero of Ukraine. Days later, however, the Ukraine Navy revealed that the guards had actually been “taken captive by Russian occupiers” and were all still alive.

2. The ‘Ghost of Kiev’.

A video of a Ukrainian fighter pilot dubbed the “Ghost of Kiev/Kyiv” showed a jet supposedly shooting down multiple Russian fighter jets, causing several casualties. Social media users were quick to champion the pilot as a “hero” despite the video actually tracing its origins to a video game. The video was created with the 2008 game “Digital Combat Simulator” and was first shared via YouTube, where the original poster acknowledged the footage was from a simulator.

3. The Fake Farewell.

A photo of two Ukrainian children sending off soldiers to fight Russians quickly went viral on social media, with posts on Twitter containing the image amassing tens of thousands of likes. Pro-war Representative Adam Kinzinger even shared the picture. In reality, the dramatic image actually traces its roots over half of a decade back to Ukraine in 2016 and has appeared in several news stories since then.

4. It’s An Airsoft Gun…

The story of former Miss Grand Ukraine Anastasiia Lenna joining Ukraine’s military to fight against Russia also turned out to be false despite amassing thousands of likes and shares across social media platforms. While the photo of Lenna is from one of her recent Instagram posts, where she expressed support for Ukraine against Russian forces, the gun in the popular picture is actually an airsoft rifle….

5. Straight From The Big Screen… Literally.

Clips of Ukrainian soldiers kissing their loved ones goodbye as they supposedly left to fight Russia also quickly went viral, except the footage, which has already garnered thousands of likes, comes from a 2017 film “The War of Chimeras….”

6. Anonymous Imposters.

A video supposedly created by the notorious hacker group “Anonymous” threatened to launch massive cyberattacks and empty the bank accounts of Russian citizens who refused to protest Putin in a minute-long video circulating across social media platforms….

Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation, however, admitted that the video wasn’t actually created by Anonymous….

If it were not for you, I would have no idea what is true regarding Russia or Ukrainian. I do know, that I am praying for God to send forth His host of Angels to tear down the powers in the principalities of darkness. For His protection.

Thank you so much for the research as to the truth of these stories. I appreciate this very much. Two of the stories I believed when I read them earlier. Thank you for “debunking” them. God bless you, IFA.

Wanted to call your attention to this video from Richard Railey from February 28 which has had many hundreds of thousands of views regarding the war in Ukraine.

Richard equates Putin as saving the world from the One World Order regime. Railey also equates Ukraine with corruption with the One World Order that required war to remediate. In essence that Putin is doing the world a favor by waging war in Ukraine, particularly for believers In Christ and for freedom. Railey essentially asked for believers to quit praying for Ukraine and that the war in Ukraine is not as bad as is being portrayed by the mass media.

I believe this is more fake news and propaganda that is trying to subvert the truth and move the attention and prayers of believers from the Ukrainian people and freedom to actually support the aggressor.

Another narrative making the rounds with believers in the USA is that NATO and the USA provoked Russia and Putin by making overtures to the Ukraine previously about joining NATO. Essentially NATO and the USA forced Putin’s hand into Ukraine. NATO being strictly a defensive treaty by definition should pose no threat to Russia.

A third narrative making the rounds is that it is a plot of Democrats to provoke the USA into some more direct military engagement with Russia as a distraction from the moves of tyranny happening in the USA.

I know you can’t address all the fake news, but such overtures are a distraction and can sidetrack many sincere believers. I pray that His truth will set us free and that discernment from the belt of truth would increase for the followers of Christ in our nation.

None of those things are mutually exclusive especially when we have Alinsky trained operatives in positions of “authority”…such people are blatantly opportunistic. So, whether they created the problem or not they are certainly manipulating the narrative to their nefarious purposes in a never ending effort to Wag the Dog. Yet they certainly to some degree created the problem. Hillary by providing Russia with yellow cake for nuclear weapons and Hunter Biden,Christopher Heinz ( John Kerry’s son), Paul Pelosi Jr., and more utilizing Ukraine as their perverse playground and piggy bank. None of these things are fake news, they are easily verifiable by any one willing to look. Seems our evil elite either intentionally or inadvertently has played both ends against the middle. God help us all.

Lord, let us ask for wisdom. You say to pray for it that you will give it to us. I ask that we all pray before we hear news that appeals to our emotions. Because we are not ruled by emotions but by you Spirit. Let us always seek the council of your Word. In Jesus’ name.
Amen.
