Chicago is now working on paying its black residents reparations, establishing a “reparations task force.” What do you think of this?
From The Hill. Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson signed an executive order Monday to create a task force focused on reparations for the city’s Black residents.

As part of the executive order, the task force will conduct a study and examination of policies that impacted Black Chicago residents from the slavery era to present day, the mayor’s office said in a statement shared with The Hill. The task force will then issue a series of recommendations and remedies, the office added.
“Today’s Executive Order is not just a public declaration; it is a pledge to shape the future of our city by confronting the legacy of inequity that has plagued Chicago for far too long,” Johnson said Monday. …

Johnson’s executive order came after he designated $500,000 in the city’s fiscal 2024 budget toward the issue, his office noted.

Huh, I didn’t know Chicago had slaves!
We can all repent of our past mistakes and in the process not sell the farm with overdone self-pity. I have seen articles here on IFA celebrating the whole concept of you know repenting for our ancestors ..and while that is biblical.. as I understand it- if you run with it- and take it to the extreme.. it becomes self-pity -egregious self-pity, self-aggrandizement.. which some of the other commenters here have touched on ..and this is still- until the globalists ruin it -the home of the brave, and the land of the free- and everyone has an equal opportunity.
it’s just getting harder and harder to reach it, so let us not wallow our selves in self pity. I know nobody’s helping me out of my mess.
Lord I pray for a Resurgence of emotional healing and as the Revival gains ground..and your Harvest comes in..let us return to a sane state of thinking.. and let us return to the process of maturing through taking account of ourselves-, and not expecting handouts. If this law, plan or otherwise go into affect, we need to consider the same thing for native Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans. They all have suffered. They all have had a good and bad times settling here in the United States.
If the Black people in Chicago are entitled to reparations then all races are, as all have been involved in slavery at some point in time. Reparations only encourages a victim mentality. I believe it is time for this manipulation to stop entirely along with BLM, Wok-ism and CRT. What is needed is for the fathers to rise up and raise their children, stay in their homes and for the wives to reject their dependency on welfare. The 1619 Project has spread big lies and made this worse.

I personally have never lived in or around a black community, but I do believe that in this great country we live in the blacks and and the gays already have the same rights to everything we whites have. When one group of people think they deserve more than start demanding it, then division starts and a house divided will not stand. These are Jesus’s own words. So we need to pray against division. Father I know there is assuredly some believers in Chicago’s government. I stand with them and pray that the Holy Spirit would reveal truth and the justice of Jesus Christ. May there be a glorious revival spread throughout the churches of Chicago.
