Former Nebraska Senator Ben Sassee is stepping down from his position as University of Florida president to care for his wife.
From Fox News. Former Republican Sen. Ben Sasse said on Thursday that he is stepping down as president of the University of Florida due to his wife’s epilepsy and memory issues.

In a lengthy letter addressed to “Gator Nation and cherished friends,” the former Nebraska lawmaker said: “Gator Nation needs a president who can keep charging hard, Melissa deserves a husband who can pull his weight, and my kids need a dad who can be home many more nights. After extensive prayer and lots of family tears, I today asked UF Chair Mori Hosseini and our Board of Trustees to initiate a search for a new president of the university.”
Sasse explained that his wife, Melissa, suffered an aneurysm and a series of strokes in 2007 and has been diagnosed with epilepsy and is dealing with memory issues. …
“I’m going to remain involved in serving our UF students — past, present, and future — but I need to walk arm-in-arm with my dearest friend more hours of every week,” he continued. …

Dear brother Sasse,
The Lord is able to deliver her. I have dealt with it for years, and have literally felt that demonic spirit move through my body down to my legs, I have never mentioned that when it happened until I went to a Doug Staton service ,he was delivered of epilepsy and felt a spirit move through his body down to his legs. He is delivered of it. He is an evangelist.
Mr Sasse’s wife needs deliverance.
Father, thank you for this man’s commitment to his covenant partner. We ask that you would bring healing to her body, she is healed by the stripes of Jesus. May their family time be sweet and filled with the joy of the Lord and His shalom. Thank you for his example and being a godly husband.Amen
