Dr. Paul Ai was born into a strong Buddhist family in Vietnam and was sent, at a young age, to study to become a Buddhist monk. He quickly realized there was no hope and no power in the doctrines of Buddhism, so he studied black magic and became a witchdoctor. He served 3,366 gods but became disappointed in the devil’s power when a Christian crusade came to his town. Paul was determined to stop the Christian meetings with the power of his gods, but they were no match for the God of the missionaries, and Paul surrendered his life to Jesus!

Dr. Paul and Rev. Ruth Ai are the founders and president of Paul Ai Ministries (VOI). They first started reaching out to the Vietnamese community from their home base in the U.S. back in 2000. As Dr. Paul learned that the Vietnamese government started to send out many government officials and contract workers to overseas for work in 2003, many of them are exploited and abused. VOI then moved forward in our Vision to reach out into other nations in South-East Asia, the Middle-East, with the focus of helping the Vietnamese workers overseas to find peace, joy, and the fulfillment of life in knowing our Creator, as well as connecting them with the local communities who can help them grow. Over time, the local communities were blessed with VOI’s presence, as the local churches and ministries want to partner with VOI in helping their communities with outreach events, as well as training discipleship, leaders, pastors, and church planters. VOI partnerships have expanded in many countries throughout the world.

We will also pray with Rev. Lisa Wink Schultz, the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Senate Chaplain. 

The chaplain is an elected officer of the U.S. Senate. Our current chaplain, Rear Admiral Barry C. Black (Ret.) was elected the 62nd Chaplain of the United States Senate, and our special guest, Rev. Lisa Wink Schultz directs all of Chaplain Black’s programs and outreach to Senators, their families, and hundreds of Senate staff.
