As America celebrates its 250th anniversary, Evangelist Sharon Bolan believes God is calling the nation to something greater than a commemoration of its history. She believes the Lord is preparing another spiritual awakening, and an upcoming gathering at a historic revival site could help ignite it.

Bolan joined IFA Chief Program Officer Kris Kubal on Pray with America’s Leaders to discuss The Great ReAwakening, a gathering scheduled for October 23 that will bring intercessors together to worship, repent, and seek God’s intervention in America.

Bolan explained that the vision began with years of prayer for the nation. She pointed to the First Great Awakening, when evangelist George Whitefield preached throughout the American colonies during the 18th century, helping establish a spiritual foundation that preceded the nation’s founding.

According to Bolan, the Lord began directing her toward a particular field associated with Whitefield’s ministry. In early August, she felt God instructing her to organize a gathering there, despite having no established connections in the area and little time to prepare.

Bolan described how the arrangements unexpectedly fell into place. Although the location was reportedly booked for a year, a wedding cancellation opened an opportunity shortly before she contacted the venue.

For Bolan, the timing was evidence of God’s hand in the undertaking.

The evangelist emphasized that The Great ReAwakening is intended to be more than another Christian conference. Rather than centering the gathering around prominent speakers or personalities, she hopes to unite ordinary believers in a movement of repentance and spiritual renewal.

“We were once awakened, but we’ve fallen asleep,” she said, warning that much of the American church has lost the spiritual fervor that characterized previous generations.

Bolan stressed that revival must begin with individuals seeking a personal encounter with God. She encouraged intercessors not to depend on a single pastor or ministry leader to bring transformation, but to recognize their own responsibility to pray and speak God’s Word over the nation.

Kubal echoed that message, reflecting on America’s history of revival and the importance of seeking God during pivotal moments.

The two also discussed the significance of America’s 250th anniversary. Bolan believes the nation’s spiritual heritage should inspire believers to seek another move of God rather than simply celebrate what He has done in the past.
