Many have realized at this point that Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg’s private donations in 2020 played no smart part in putting Joe Biden in the White House. Despite this, the tech giant has no plans to donate in future elections. While this can be seen as a victory, we must continue to fight for a higher degree of election integrity.

The nonprofit that distributed most of the $350 million in donations from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg to election offices in 2020 said Monday that it won’t disburse similar donations this year after backlash from conservatives suspicious that the contributions tilted the outcome of the presidential race toward Joe Biden.
Instead, the Center for Technology and Civic Life is launching a different program. Dubbed the U.S. Alliance for Election Excellence, the $80-million, five-year effort is intended to create a network for the nation’s thousands of local election officials, who can apply for aid to improve their technology and processes.
“Unfortunately, years of underinvestment means many local election departments often have limited capacity and training. The U.S. Alliance for Election Excellence is bringing together world-class partners so that local election officials no longer have to go it alone,” said Tiana Epps-Johnson, CTCL’s executive director, who announced the new program at the TED2022 conference.
The 2020 effort by Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, amid the COVID-19 pandemic fueled conservative anger and distrust of the presidential election outcome. At least eight GOP-controlled states passed laws last year banning private donations to election offices in reaction to Zuckerberg’s donations….
A spokesperson for Zuckerberg and Chan confirmed that the couple is not funding election offices this year.
“As Mark and Priscilla made clear previously, their election infrastructure donation to help ensure that Americans could vote during the height of the pandemic was a one-time donation given the unprecedented nature of the crisis,” Ben LaBolt said. “They have no plans to repeat that donation.”
Epps-Johnson said the group saw in 2020 just how woefully underfunded many local election offices are. Elections in the U.S. are run at the local level, sometimes by a small staff of city or county workers and volunteers. One New England office, Epps-Johnson said, used its 2020 grant to replace century-old election tabulation equipment, and many struggled to maintain usable websites that could provide voters information on mobile devices.
The network will work with technology experts at Stanford University and elsewhere, Epps-Johnson said. Local election offices will be able to apply for assistance, but things will work differently than two years ago….

Watching elections and stopping the cheating is key to our prayers. Many were put in prison or fined in our county after we started to do this. And the cheating was curtailed or mitigated a lot. Lord help us to be wiser and more bold than the people doing election fraud. Please give us victory and more victory over this horrible sin and bondage in our communities.
Lord, raise up many people to assist local election offices with voter roll clean-up, equipment updating, etc. Father, this should not be left to “them.” Rise up, O Church of God.” Your country has need of you. Holy Spirit, urge God’s people to volunteer and get involved at the local level to be an influence for justice and righteousness. Amen.
Father, I pray you will give America wisdom to protect our election process in this new age. The love of money and power tempts our citizens and has threatened this wonderful democracy. Give our leaders good solutions to fight foreign money aimed to cause discord and tilt our elections at both the local, state and national levels. Thank you for exposing fraud and redirecting our attention to see the blessings of our government; help us to be able to actually correct procedures and laws justly without political agendas.
May America be the just country you intended and may evil be exposed & removed at every level. Please fill all 50 states and our Federal government with your faithful servants. We thank you for our form of government and the wisdom you gave our founders fathers; we desperately seek that now in 2022. Thank you, Father God. Amen
Until he becomes a Christ follower, I have zero trust in his word or the word of his spokesperson. So I continue to pray that Zuckerberg and billionaires like him will give their lives to Christ, and that they will use their platforms and the influence given to them to uphold the values of God Almighty.
