My heart leapt as I read the headline: Mayor Proclaims Day of Fasting and Prayer. Excitement bubbled up in me as I remembered the prophetic word from Hank Kunneman; he shared earlier this year that God declared this time to be a decade of difference for the people of God.
Is God fulfilling this word?
We read in Exodus 9 and 10 where God made a difference concerning His people. Plague after plague ravished Pharaoh, but they did not touch God’s people in Goshen.
Yet, I still wondered, why are some cities like Fort Worth and Dallas, Texas, seeing different responses to the climate in the earth right now? And there are other cities making prayer their line of defense against the virus and the violence. What’s the key?
Karen Hardin and I launched the City-by-City.org strategy three weeks ago after we prayed and asked the Lord how we can take back our nation.
As I look over those who have registered to pray for their cities, I have seen that people are signing up in droves in Texas to pray. Is that the difference?
2 Chronicles 7:14 states, If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.
We, the praying people, have a part to play in this decade of difference.
It’s not enough to just hear a prophetic word. We cannot allow it to end there. We must pray into that word if we are ever to see it come to pass. We must take that word and war with it.
Paul instructs Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:18-19, “So Timothy, my son, I am entrusting you with this responsibility, in keeping with the very first prophecies that were spoken over your life, and are now in the process of fulfillment in this great work of ministry, in keeping with the prophecies spoken over you. With this encouragement use your prophecies as weapons as you wage spiritual warfare by faith and with a clean conscience. For there are many who reject these virtues and are now destitute of the true faith.”
We are to receive these prophecies from seasoned, accurate prophets and consequently, war with them, just as the Bible says.
Fervent and consistent prayer is the beginning of the change we desire to see in our cities and our nation.
It’s not going to just fall in our lap and happen. No! We have a part to play.
In this season of a decade of difference, the difference will begin one place. In prayer. It’s time to seek the face of God like never before. It’s time to take back our nation, one prayer at a time.

We are in a spiritual war…are we putting on the armor of God every day (Eph. 6:10-18). We have power from God (Eph. 1:19), do we know how to use it? God gives us jurisdictions to claim His will over (Jurisdiction…the territory over which we have legal authority over (family, home, work,town, state, country). And Jesus said in John 14:12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father.” And in John 20:21 “Jesus therefore said to them again, ‘Peace be with you; as the Father has sent Me, I also send you.'” How are we doing Church?
Several weeks ago our Governor over Louisiana publicly asked for 3 days of fasting and prayer for this virus and our state. He is a Democrat but a devout Catholic. I believe God will pour out his blessings as this happens more and more.
It is appropriate that we are aware of the climatic spiritual battles that we are engaged in for the Kingdom, as the nation approaches the 2020 election. However, I feel that I keep hearing from the Lord: “Prepare to advance My Kingdom following the aftermath of the election. There is a future for My Body in America. Seek Me for your individual and corporate roles.”
For me, I am filling up on God’s Word and reading good literature on the power of the Spirit, the roles of prayer, and regional transformation. Also, like with City-by-City, we need to connect into wineskins that the Spirit is moving through.
Heavenly Father, we honor Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, we renew our mind with Your eternal Word, we let Your peace rule our heart today. Deliver us from evil, from the principalities and rulers of darkness who war against us. We proclaim that greater are You who is in us than he that is in the world. We ask that You forgive our trespasses as we forgive those who have trespassed against us. We are all in need of cleansing and to be filled with the knowledge of You in all wisdom and understanding. To You be the glory today in our lives and forever.

I am concerned about this mayor’s call to prayer. Who exactly is he praying to? As I clicked on the link and scrolled down to another article about the matter, he also called for a virgin sacrice to appease the gods? Is that true or is that D Magazine’s opinion of his call to prayer? Lord Jesus, give us wisdom and discernment to seek only you.
I think it smacks of the magazine’s opinion of his call to prayer.
I have just been introduced to this site and am still looking around to find things.
So this may not be the correct place to ask my question ?
But also watching the morning news and seeing people being beat up in downtown Portland. A man did not resist and he was knocked unconscious ! I want to ask “where is the church in Portland?”
I realize safety is an issue but I’m just wondering if like 100 saints would congregate there and start singing a gospel hymn what might happen ?
Get down to that area and stand and sing and pray right there. Engage in dialogue with these protesters. Share the gospel message with them .

Not sure if you’ve read about Sean Feucht holding worship rallys right where the protests have been. Antifa has apparently tried to stop them but have been unable to sway God’s people. I don’t know about continual activity by the church though.

I did see an article or it might have been a news clip about a young man who was holding a revival meeting and baptizing people in Portland . I guess that was Sean and praise God for his heart to share the gospel
But this was, I believe, a one time event during the day. My hope & prayer would be that courageous pastors and their people would “consistently “ go there at night.”John 1:5 “And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overpower it”.
It would be awesome if they could pray there for the city, pray for the protestors, pray for the police…. to end the senseless violence .
I know the LORD can do it but we, as believers have to be His hands and feet . I would encourage anyone who lives in Portland or Seattle where this violence is happening to talk with your pastor and get churches involved and let your light shine to end the violence.
Maybe take some baskets of food down there.
Your job isn’t to feed the 5,000 but to provide the loaves and fishes.😊
The LORD in a dream instructed me to create a big sign in front of our home: the verse 2 chronicles 7:14 (This was before President Donald J Trump and vice President Mike Pence had run for office: HE also had me take a christmas sled fix it with plants but in the center was a wooden cross: with a 3 messages : on the cross a tablet says where there is love there is life; a board with John 3:16 and last that JESUS is the reason for all seasons using ecclesiastic. How many have stopped to read and have left inspired to seek the LORD JESUS YESHUA.

God is the God of “details” I believe we should ask and pray for specifics – trusting and imploring that His perfect will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Amen!
