Several counties in Oregon on May 18 voted to consider joining the state of Idaho, which is part of a long-shot movement to break away from the state that has long been dominated by politicians in Portland.

Voters in Malheur, Sherman, Grant, Baker, and Lake counties approved various measures that require county officials to take steps to look into moving the Idaho border west to incorporate the counties.

The grassroots group Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho is aiming to have the eastern counties—which are mostly rural—join Idaho because they believe they would be better off with Idaho’s more conservative political leadership. . . .

McCarter told the Oregonian last year that the bid to join Idaho is more of a “lifestyle/values judgment” that separates rural and urban residents.

Oregon’s Jefferson and Union counties already approved measures last year to promote a move to Idaho. Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho petitioners also want to absorb some counties in Northern California, which are also mostly rural.

Idaho Gov. Brad Little, a Republican, told Fox News last year that some Oregonians are “looking at Idaho fondly because of our regulatory atmosphere” and “our values.”

The bid, however, appears to be a long shot as it would require a formal vote in the Democratic-controlled Oregon legislature.  . . .

Voters in Oregon’s Harney and Douglas counties will hold a vote on similar measures in upcoming elections.

McCarter told media outlets that Idaho state Reps. Barbara Ehardt and Judy Boyle, both Republicans, are planning to introduce a bill about a possible relocation of the Idaho–Oregon border in January 2022. . . .

I pray this would happen!
I would love to live in
Idaho. Lord we need You! Holy Spirit speak to the people all across the USA that they need You Lord God! I pray we as a nation would repent, turn from our sins and humbly seek Your face. Wake up Your church to live for You and seek Your kingdom and share the Good News with the lost, that Jesus died for our sins, was buried and rose again the third day and now is in Heaven preparing a place for those who have believed, ( trusted, accepted) on the LORD JESUS CHRIST. In Jesus’ precious name I pray, Amen

I pray the people in Oregon are successful in joining the state of Idaho. Lord, open the door for these people to be set free from Oregon and these Democratic “values.”

I hope it succeeds. You have a governor and legislators controlled by democrats who absolutely reject what the MAJORITY of the people of the state ask for or want – law and order!! The governor is totally anti prolife and is out of touch with the actual needs of the people of the state. She and many other so called leaders were and continue to be useless in quelling the problems in cities like Portland. I used to love visiting the area but I refuse to vacation there until they make changes in leadership. I encourage others to not give tourist dollars to the Portland or other liberal sinkholes.
Continue to pray that the terrible leadership in certain areas of OR are removed for the sake of the decent common sense people of OR.

Hey OR counties – great move. I pray and hope you are successful in leaving liberal leftist controlled OR. Sadly, 10% of the states liberal leftist goodies control 90% of the OR population. That is so wrong!
