NBC News reports that Texas officials said the state’s primary power grid was “seconds or minutes” from catastrophic failure on Sunday night. The agency imposed rolling outages to prevent the collapse of the entire grid.

NBC News’ Gabe Gutierrez tweeted that officials with the Energy Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) just stated the Texas power grid was “seconds or minutes — not hours — away from catastrophic failure. The tweet states rolling blackouts were implement to stop the situation from becoming far worse that it would have otherwise been. . . .

On Thursday, ERCOT officials said they made “significant progress” in restoring power throughout the state. . . .

PowerOutage.us reports that just under 500,000 Texas customers remain without electricity. This is down from more than four million customers who were in the dark earlier this week.

ERCOT officials previously stated that had the power grid collapsed, it would take weeks or months to restore power statewide.

“At approximately 1:25 a.m. this morning [Feb 15] , ERCOT entered its third and highest level of emergency operations because electric demand is exceeding the available supply,” officials said at the time. “Controlled outages are occurring to protect the electric grid from uncontrolled, cascading outages.”

I am praying for all in Texas to have all their needs met. Praying all would have water, heat, food, lodging, and other necessities required for their safe keeping. I care!

Asking God to give wisdom and solutions to what created this catastrophe, and the means to correct the problem that it may never occur again.

May all involved in this tragedy pay greater attention to its solution, rather than pointing fingers at Ted Cruz, who has shown great courage within the halls of the government. He is a bright light, amidst great darkness. My prayers are for he and has family. I stand with him, thanking God for him!!

May testimonies of miracles come forth when this storm is behind them.
May we hear of the greatest miracle too, which is, many turning to Christ for salvation, while in their distress. What a glory to our Lord that would be!
“What the enemy meant for harm, that God would turn it for good.”
You are the faithful One Jesus, and Your love cannot be measured. Pour out that love, throughout Texas, through Your people.
Thank You!
In Christ’s Love,
Amen

We live in TX. We were fortunate not to lose electricity but I knew that there were many not far away that did lose power. There was such a heaviness in my heart knowing that people were struggling without it.
We have good leadership in this state. But of course there are a few politicians who are opposed to those good leaders who are now trying to take advantage of the situation. Instead of trying to work across the aisle, those political “hacks” are now trying to use a week long disastrous situation into political gain. Pray for those people because it is about the lowest form of attack on others when millions have already been through a lot of trouble and suffering. Pray that our present leadership would be given knowledge, wisdom and direction to help ensure this doesn’t happen again. Pray that new and creative ideas would come forth to help our state as well as other states.
Thank you everyone for your prayers.

“the Texas power grid was “seconds or minutes — not hours — away from catastrophic failure…” Thank you Father for your abundant mercy. I pray You will continue providing for all those affected by this storm. I KNOW nothing takes you by surprise and I am humbly asking for you to continue going ahead of all situations that could bring more tragedy. I am in eternal gratitude for this and all Your graciousness Father. Thank you Jesus for giving us access to the One God, our Abba Father and to the Holy Spirit Who remains to keep us active! Amen

Help those in charge to know what to do and to find reasons this happened and to correct. Keep evil men away who would take advantage of this crisis. Amen
