Tennessee Declares June 2026 ‘Nuclear Family Month’
Tennessee lawmakers are drawing national attention after officially declaring June 2026 “Nuclear Family Month,” a move supporters say celebrates biblical family values and the foundational role of traditional families in society. The resolution stands in sharp contrast to the cultural focus on LGBTQ Pride Month that has dominated June in recent years.

From CBN:
Tennessee passed a new measure to honor “God’s perfect design” for families, declaring June 2026 as “Nuclear Family Month.” Gov. Bill Lee signed Tennessee House Joint Resolution 182 after both the state House of Representatives and Senate overwhelmingly passed the measure.
The resolution replaces the celebration of LGBTQ “Pride Month” with the celebration of the nuclear family and rejects the harmful “ideologies of the World Health Organization, the United Nations, and like-minded organizations that fight for population control through the means of promoting sterilization and abortion practices.”
House Sponsor, Rep. Bud Hulsey, defines the nuclear family as “one husband, one wife, and any biological, adopted, or fostered children” and declares it “God’s design for familial structure.”
The resolution argues that strong families are essential to the health and stability of the nation. Tennessee lawmakers pointed to alarming statistics connected to fatherlessness, including increased rates of youth suicide, high school dropout rates, incarceration, and violent behavior. Supporters say these realities demonstrate the importance of promoting stable homes with involved mothers and fathers.
The move also reflects a broader national effort among conservatives and faith leaders to redirect the cultural emphasis of June toward life, family, and biological reality. In recent years, states and federal lawmakers have introduced initiatives such as “Title IX Month” and “Life Month” to emphasize protections for women, unborn children, and traditional family structures.
For intercessors, the Tennessee resolution represents more than a political statement — it is a public affirmation of biblical truth in a culture increasingly hostile to God’s design for marriage and family. As debates over gender, sexuality, and parental roles continue nationwide, believers are being encouraged to boldly uphold and strengthen families in their homes and communities.
Let’s pray for more states to follow Tennessee’s bold example!
