Longest-Serving Woman in Congress Says She Feels Increasingly Alienated in Democratic Party
The longest-serving woman in Congress, Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio), told The Hill in a recent interview that she struggles with a growing sense of alienation within the Democratic Party as she fights for the interests of her largely working-class Midwest constituents while the Democrat Party is increasingly dominated by representatives from wealthy, often coastal districts.
“They just can’t understand,” Kaptur told the outlet, referring to the difficulty some of her Democrat colleagues have in relating to the concerns of blue-collar constituents like hers.
“They can’t understand a family that sticks together because that’s what they have. Their loved ones are what they have, their little town, their home, as humble as it is—that’s what they have.” . . .
“It’s been very hard for regions like mine, which have had great economic attrition, to get fair standing, in my opinion,” Kaptur said, adding that, as a Democrat who represents a working-class district, she feels like a minority within her party. . . .
“Several of my colleagues who are in the top ranks have said to me, ‘You know, we don’t understand your part of the country.’ And they’re very genuine,” Kaptur said. “You can’t understand what you haven’t been a part of.” . . .
In his first remarks following the November election, in which the GOP defied expectations and made gains in the House, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said, “This election cycle has made one thing clear: The Republican Party is now the party of the American worker.”
The 2020 election results, in general, reinforced the view that the Republican Party is poised to become a multiethnic coalition of working-class voters. In the presidential race, for instance, former President Donald Trump won the largest share of nonwhite voters, a traditionally Democrat demographic, of any Republican since 1960.
Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) commented on the fact that Trump won Zapata County, in Texas, by a margin of 52–47 percent in 2020, while he lost that same county to Hilary Clinton in 2016 by a margin of 65–32 percent. . . .

I am praying for the righteous to leave the Democratic party. I pray for protection for whistleblowers and that there are many of them. I believe even the Supreme Court has become corrupt in denying due process. There is no stopping God’s judgment and it will come! It will take an act of God to deal with what these power-hungry, evil communists are doing. No proof of corruption is a lie. Pelosi and her puppets think they are gods. There is no repentance in their hearts. As long as Dominion is used for calculating votes, our Republic (democracy) is dead. The earth and this country belong to the God who created them. Now Bidden has declared all ex-military and police terrorists. God Save our country and Your people! Lord send Your lightning and reign.

It is surprising to hear there are Democrats who are not filled with hate and violence. I didn’t know there were any. It is good to know.
Too much hate and vengeance has and is being shown by leaders like Pelosi and Schumer and others who want to obliterate Trump. They haven’t done anything to help our country or the people.

I’m oblivious to the sad story anyone may tell about “not understanding” the voice of the democrats. Anyone who voted with them is a party to the evil perpetrated. What’s not to understand about the way they fought the President of the people. Present Trump and won. So dark. Foreboding and if not for the Lord and His army we’d all be swallowed up. By the political parties as is evidenced in the wishy washy way the republicans have also done. I’m from Illinois and my republican rep said there was no election fraud. He’s lost my vote if it’s even counted fairly. My prayer is pull the rug out from under the evil this administration is calling for and let it fall flat without any chance to raise its ugly head again. If I were in politics I would be on my knees asking for boldness and wisdom to do what’s right before a very merciful God. Our children’s lives and futures are at stake. It’s ugly. The Democrat Party is the Socialist/Marxist/Communist Party now. They have been for some time! It took President Trump to completely pull the veil off their agenda. I am VERY opposed to those 7 Republicans who seem to always vote Democratic!!! But because of this woman, Marcy Kaptur, I would say, please stay in Congress and continue to represent your constituents, because there is no guarantee that the Republicans will represent them more than you. You must be in touch with your voters to be in office this long. Opposing opinions continue everywhere, but opposing someone doesn’t mean I am right or that they are right. We just need to get to a better opinion together.
I’m not sure if her constituents care about anything the party doesn’t care about. Her vote may show a different story.
Rep. Marcy Kaptur, I would gladly say “Come join the party that has traditional values, values that reach out to the interests and betterment of ALL areas of America.”
You seem to value and align with the era of the original Democratic party, versus the what the party has become; I commend you for seeing it and for wanting to represent your district that desires to be heard and seen. Yes, the party has gone extreme and has left behind what it’s voters and supporters truly desire for their community, families, jobs; so sad!

The democratic party was always like that – they just weren’t so obvious and somewhat toned down. Started the KKK. Fought against President Lincoln to free the slaves because they didn’t want them to vote – then when they could vote, they started their campaign against them to convince the blacks that they, the democrats, would support them, then, from there they talked the dads into leaving the home and the women and kids would get financial aid from the government. No, they always hated the black population. They fought for abortion for years. The democrats have always been against the black population, still are. Their elite discriminate against Christian Catholics, (morales) Blacks, and the family. Sound like communists.

It’s shocking all the damage to this country the Democrat Party has done. I just finished reading the article reference above at the Daily Caller, “WRIGHT: I’m A Democrat, But It’s Time To Leave The Party” and the facts laid out in that article are beyond shocking, especially the vitriol expounded by Rep. Ilhan Omar and her “Squad” members (read: Gang of Four) and the extreme violence she incited against police officers in Minneapolis and elsewhere, telling “a crowd of supporters that the Minneapolis Police Department was a “cancer” that had to be “amputated” from the community…”

Thank you for the on point article concerning today’s Dem party. Many have said for years that the old Dem party is dead and gone… they are absolutely correct. Anyone that tells you different is either brainwashed, completely unaware or just too stubborn to admit it.
On what I call a “long shot prayer”, I continue to (1) pray for any present Dem legislators (senate, house, etc.) to switch / leave their party while in office. I pray for that because it could / would upset and change the balance of power in government (2) there are a few Dem office holders who absolutely do not agree with the course of their new leftist party (3) it would be a miracle from God if/when that happens. After all, God is STILL in the miracle business. If we don’t ask for the impossible, then we won’t receive the impossible.

I was basically trying to state that they cared about the common working person, cared more so for the unborn and cared about working across party lines for the overall good of our nation. Amen, I also vote values. Not All democrats are bad, corrupt people. Actually there is corruption in not only the Democratic party but it exists some in the Republican party also. We need to do our research and homework about candidates and not by what their personality is like or whether we like them or not. I vote values. I quit voting parties many years ago. Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-Ohio) sounds like a great candidate. She has a great bio. I wouldn’t have even looked at her. She walks the line of Roe vs Wade. Yes, she wants some restrictions but I have not voted for a proponent of abortion for many years. I love many democrats. I have them in my family. I used to be one. It is dangerous to vote parties anymore. It has led us to where we are. The blood of our country’s children is calling out from the ground we walk on to a God, whose Word condemns the murder of the vulnerable, and He has heard. Something to consider. And who knows – maybe one of those children had the formula to put this virus to rest.

Dear Heavenly Father, a great line seems to have been drawn and clearly defined over the last year. Many complain that it is getting harder to tell right from wrong, but I would argue that over the last year, those who would’ve see the truth have been able to more clearly than ever. The time has come for people to decide on which side of the line they stand. As it says in Luke 12:51-53

It sounds as though Representative Kaptur may have begun to realize she and her constituents are at odds with her party’s dark agenda. May You bless them and give them the moral courage to come over to Your side at this crucial time. Just as we see the Rino Republicans for who they really are, so too should we welcome these alienated democrats to our side if they will cross the line. While the democrats continue to claim to push unity, they really seem to want full domination of all under their wicked rule. I think one of the reason why people stay with the Democratic party is when they live in a small community of Democrats. Where they hear nothing but negative rhetoric about the other political party and are afraid to leave the Democratic party for fear of harassment.
Another reason is that being a Democrat is a generational thing for a lot of people. They stay with the party because their families have always been Democrats. This makes it hard for them to leave the party. And because of this they don’t want to know what the party is really about. They shut out all the negative things being said about the party. So when you are mentally bound by this generational “thing” that you have to remain a Democrat, it is hard to escape, until you make yourself do some research about the Democratic party. I, for one fit into this category, but have been able to leave because of the research and saw the truth. The democratic party was not always what it is today. Somewhere down the years the door was partially opened for the demonic, evil to have access to our country to bring destructions and chaos.
In recent years the door has been widely open for full access and that’s where our country is at now. Lawlessness, corruptions of all kinds, legal abuse of the judicial system, abuse of power for own benefits, crime against humanity, and it goes on and on and on. It is all about the love for power, for money and for control.

I am a registered republican, but had voted for Kennedy and Johnson in the past. For several years now, I have noticed the Democrats accusing republicans of things that THEY were actually doing. Even Biden said that if you tell a lie often enough, people will believe it. And, they have been lying for tears, now.

I have a question for Marcy, if you realize the ways of the democrats is not what it should be then how could you have voted guilty for the impeachment of President Donald J Trump?
