Pray with America's Leaders is streaming live
I Prayed have prayed
Father, we thank You for raising up strong and faithful Native Americans who will glorify you. As the sleeping giant continues to wake, God, we pray that You would continue to strengthen it.
Reading Time: 3 minutes

Years ago they were called a sleeping giant. Now, Native American believers are starting to greatly impact the kingdom as giants for the Lord. We believe this is one of the healing works of God mentioned in Prophetic Word: God Is Restoring the Wellsprings of Our Nation.

From Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. They came from Texas and Saskatchewan, South Carolina and Wyoming, Alberta and Kentucky. They carried the names of their tribes with honor: Lumbee, Chippewa, Navajo, Apache, Sioux, Hopi and more….

Let the IFA community know how to pray for you!

As Will Graham addressed the assembly, he recounted a similar gathering that took place in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 18, 1975. During that meeting, Will Graham’s grandfather Billy Graham said, “You as evangelical Indians are a sleeping giant. You are now awakening….”

“I believe this is our opportunity—a God-given moment in time,” said Will Graham, pointing back to his grandfather’s words. “God is waking the Sleeping Giant, and I believe God will use you to bring the last great revival. This is a moment in history that can change our country forever….”

A Reason to Hope Despite Generational Struggles and Spiritual Darkness

“Evangelism has been among our Native American people for 246 years. That’s when the people came to our country and instead of showing the love of God—even though they said, ‘Oh, let’s evangelize’—their policy was ‘Kill the Indian, save the man.’ Or ‘The only good Indian is a dead Indian,’” acknowledged Reynard Faber, an Apache pastor who serves as Native American Ministry coordinator for Samaritan’s Purse.

As he spoke, Faber shared his own struggle of growing up on the reservation, addicted to alcohol and suicidal, before finding a new life in Jesus Christ.

Stories like Faber’s—finding redemption in a void of spiritual darkness—show what can happen when the truth of Jesus Christ is proclaimed….

Change Is Possible With a Sovereign God

One thing was clear at the Native Peoples Christian Leaders Conference: It’s time to be bold in carrying the hope of Jesus to Indigenous people.

“Evangelism is so important. It’s not just doing church. It’s not. We have broken people from boarding school like me and a whole bunch of others who need somebody to come alongside them or reach out to them,” said Faber. “How can we be more intentional about evangelism and reaching out to people in our communities?”

He challenged Native people in the audience to reach their families and spheres of influence. “Evangelism has to come from the Native heart to reach Native Americans. We identify with each other. … We speak their language, we speak their culture, we speak what they’re familiar with. It’s up to us. God has put a big opportunity in front of us….”

“Is it possible after years of hardness to the Gospel, that there could be a divine sovereign move of God that could never, ever be planned in some corporate board room of some ministry organization?” asked Smith. “This is too big of an issue. It’s too challenging. Human thought cannot comprehend and figure out a way to solve this. A divine sovereign move of God is needed.”

Waking the Sleeping Giant

The Sleeping Giant, originally mentioned by Billy Graham in 1975, is an inspiration that has loomed large for Native Christians going back nearly 50 years. They have clung to it like a life raft on a turbulent sea.

“If you’ve been in Native ministry as long as we have … there have been many times that Dr. Graham’s statement has encouraged us to never stop, never quit, and just continue to be faithful,” said Smith. “His words were not only powerful, but rooted firmly in the timeless truths of God’s Word.”

If Billy Graham believed the Sleeping Giant was stirring in 1975, the giant seemed wide-awake—and hungry—in Rapid City….

Please help especially the Lakota Sioux tribes to turn away from their sin
and to confess that the original land owners are not them and that many of the tribes (their relatives) , in the country, and on SD, have taken land from eachother, stolen, etc, … that the liberalization and progressivation of their tribes, lobbies, and “activists” lead them farther away from the truth and to the father of lies including about Christopher Columbus, the Pilgrims, America, etc.

Please lead them away from the cartel type groups that mislead them into anarchy and activism that God did not send to them to follow.

when prayers for them help them to turn around from their ancestor’s sin and their sin, and forgiveness … then our country, governments, families, and children and own elder generations will also begin to heal and turn around.

I had been sending donations, for a while, with a few Lakota prominent activists, and it later turned out, that a couple of them were following the work of the Black Lives Matter, Antifa-anarchy types, Mexican gang and cartel type associations, etc, and were unfortunately, grifting Americans and eachother.

When a group of people or person starts to follow the liberal and progressive side, everything starts to deteriotate and sin starts to enter.

They need prayers to leave the liberalization of their tribes and back
to God, not the trickster (the equivalent of the father of lies).

The timing of this article being released is so striking since we are just about to begin a New Mexico Prayer Summit, involving many Native brothers and sisters in Christ from the Navajo and other tribes of our state which has the highest proportion of Natives in all 50 states. We will be praying for His revival and transformation for our state and nation, Friday and Saturday. Please pray with us for the atomic blast of revival that some prayer leaders have already been seeing in the Spirit and which we believe will very much involve the Native peoples of New Mexico and our entire nation.

As the child of an Air Force officer, I lived in Albuquerque and in Tucson. I have LOVED the Native American People with deep love and respect all of my life. They are of all people so very precious.

The Native American children I attended school with in Tucson were my dear friends. I used to beg my father and mother to give me to the Indians.

Heavenly Father, raise up those even this minute who YOU choose to bring salvation, healing and deliverance to these YOUR SPECIAL PEOPLE—YOUR PRECIOUS TREASURE—Father, YOU know how I have prayed for them during my entire lifetime of now 76 years.

Father, I know they have Special Gifts that YOU have given EXCLUSIVELY to them. Move Father, by YOUR MIGHTY RIGHT HAND OF POWER AS ONLY YOUR CAN DO. In the Special and Precious name of JESUS CHRIST, my Savior and my LORD. Amen

Lord, let the road before our Indian brothers be smooth. As the spirit of the Lord moves they will move.
God has seen how they have been treated – I cry out to the Lord that the spirit of the Lord will fall on
our brothers. They will go forth with the strength of God’s mighty angels. God bless, Sylvia Stumpff

I am from South Dakota and we have many Reservations in this State. We have done much ministry on the Reservations here through our local church. We have a profound burden for a move of God here in S.D. on the Reservations and throughout the USA. There have been prophecies in reference to the Pine Ridge Reservation in SD., and we believe the revival will begin in one of the hardest, most destitute reservations in our country in Pine Ridge. We have been praying for years and meeting with the Pastors on the Reservation many, many times for a breakthrough for God. It will happen, we continue to persevere and believe. To God be the Glory

I’m praying for a reconciliation between the Indian nations and all who came and settled America and pushed the Indians into reservations. We need a Christian effort with representatives for both sides to come in humility and confession of wrongs and asking forgiveness and receiving of forgiveness. Pray for God to put this act of reconciliation on the hearts of His chosen instruments.

I’m so excited: for when I was a child: I had prayed for revival in the true American dreamer: the native Americans. May the wind of revival by the HOLY SPIRIT KADOSH envelope all of them with tongues of fire brandishing revival in all areas of this nation and her people.

The Native Americans are one key to the healing of our planet, and the healing of our social order. The generational wisdom, which they have preserved under difficulty and assault from those of European origin, who conquered them, embodies respect and nurture for our planet and all its denizens, and for respect and kindness towards each other, most importantly, self governing in small units (tribes) which often (not yet perfectly) cooperate with each other and respect each other. We would do well to develop the humility to recognize that. They are the antithesis to the one world order that seems to be trying to emerge.
God of us all, please bless the Native Americans, inspire them to be active to heal us all; guide them and give them power.

Are there any Christ-centered ministries offering works of compassion on the reservations as well as preaching the Gospel?
I am thinking of something which would be similar to The Orphans Hands in Moldova.

I have long had a heart for the American Indian who have so much to offer and yet have been suppressed for so long. Only God can use these people who have been downtrodden to lead the way. Praying for the American Indian and God’s plan for them to shine!

Praise God for reaching out to our precious American Indians. I have many brothers and sisters in the Lord that are Navajos. If anyone has a complaint coming its the American Indians. God bless them one and all.
