I Prayed have prayed
Father, we pray that your will would prevail in these gun control debates. Do not let our freedoms be taken from us, Lord, and put an end to the violence in this nation.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

We need an end to violence, but we can’t sacrifice our liberties to get it. We must pray for God’s will to be done here.

From The Center Square. The U.S. Senate voted late Tuesday to advance a gun control bill with 14 Republicans, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, joining Democrats to approve the measure.

The vote was reached after weeks of negotiating a bipartisan bill in response to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas…

“Today, we finalized bipartisan, commonsense legislation to protect America’s children, keep our schools safe, and reduce the threat of violence across our country,” the leaders of the negotiations, Sens. Chris Murphy, D-Conn.; John Cornyn, R-Texas; Kyrsten Sinema, D-Ariz., and Thom Tillis, R-N.C. said in a joint statement….

The vote was 64-34, and the Senate moved to send the bill to the House for concurrence.

The bill is expected to be fast tracked in order for the Senate to vote on it before they recess for the July 4th holiday….

The proposal would require an enhanced background check for gun buyers under age 21 and implement “a short pause to conduct the check. Young buyers can get the gun only after the enhanced check is completed,” Murphy explained when first announcing the agreement.

The “enhanced review process” would add a three-day review period during which buyers under age 21 would have any juvenile and mental health records reviewed prior to being able to purchase a firearm….

The joint announcement doesn’t mention “red flag laws.” Instead, it says their plan supports state crisis intervention orders. It “provides resources to states and tribes to create and administer laws that help ensure deadly weapons are kept out of the hands of individuals whom a court has determined to be a significant danger to themselves or others, consistent with state and federal due process and constitutional protections….”

The bill also proposes $750 million for mental health and school safety, and a national buildout of community mental health clinics….

I have to laugh at these proposed measures. Most gun violence is committed not by a juvenile but by an adult that most likely has had a criminal record and let out of jail too early or some should never be out of jail. Our justice system is run by bleeding hearts that think guns kill not people. Keep the criminals in jail, keep the illegals out of our country illegally. Do your back ground checks but lets face it, this is more of a moral problem. God not being revered in this country, not taught about in schools and taught a fantasy in college. Parents not only don’t go to church anymore but don’t consider taking their children either. My mom was crippled and my dad was an iceman in Baltimore city and his job demanded he work on Sunday. My parents both made sure we kids went to church…dad attended the evening service…yep there used to be evening services. Minister didn’t skip around parts of the Bible that made them uncomfortable, they taught it the right way. So I say do all the checks you want but until this country turns back to their creator for His glory…we don’t have a chance.

My heart is grieved over the whittling away of our freedoms. What appears to be an act to end violence is really an evil agenda to leave our nation as defenseless as socialist and communist nations. Lord bring the leaders we sent to the Congress to represent us to repentance. Open their eyes to who they are aligning with. Intervene on our behalf Father. In Jesus’s Name.

Okay there’s an obvious typo in my comment.. I did not say escaping the Second Amendment period. I said keeping the Second Amendment. There is evidence of who is in charge of the airwaves, and it’s not Jesus -,my Savior- My blessed savior.

It’s sad that I am only the second commenter here. If they are successful in continuing to take our firearms from us everyone will see how important they are to have. What we have forgotten it’s how we got here and why our Founders were so intent on escaping the Second Amendment,-of course that is hard to remember in our comfortable lives.. But all we have to do is look at the countries who have just fallen in the recent 50 years, Cuba -Venezuela- Australia look where italy is going.. and history is filled with free societies that were based on republics that did not have a constitution like us that were overrun by tyrant’s.. that would have benefited if they either have been able to have personal protection,-or have been able to hang on to the protection that they had. And this is a classic example of how politicians, legislators, and others who are supposed to be civil servants are really just Servants of the globalist satanic Masters.. the whole scare tactic of red flag laws is just a ploy to manipulate the gullible public

Lord, YOU gave us our freedoms and our laws. The enemy of our soul would leave us defenseless against evil attackers. Lord, please intervene+ DEFEND us!
