Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts is abdicating his usual role of overseeing presidential impeachment trials, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said late Monday.

“The Constitution says the chief justice presides for a sitting president. So it was up to John Roberts whether he wanted to preside with a president who is no longer sitting, Trump, and he doesn’t want to do it,” Schumer said during an appearance on MSNBC.

“So traditionally what has happened is then the next in line is the Senate pro tem. That’s the most senior senator on the majority side, and that’s Sen. Leahy, who’s a very experienced man, and a very fair man.” . . .

Senate President Pro Tempore Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) announced earlier Monday that he would be presiding over Trump’s upcoming trial, even as he serves as a juror.

“When I preside over the impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, I will not waver from my constitutional and sworn obligations to administer the trial with fairness, in accordance with the Constitution and the laws,” Leahy said in a statement. . . .

According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court’s chief justice shall preside when the president of the United States is tried in an impeachment trial. An impeachment trial of a former president has never taken place in U.S. history. The Constitution does not directly address whether Congress may impeach and try a former president for actions taken while in office, according to the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service.

While former Secretary of War William Belknap was impeached in 1876 after he resigned—he was later acquitted—in more recent history, both the House of Representatives and the Senate have opted not to proceed with impeaching an official who has resigned or left office. . . .

Father God, I know you are a head of all this sham in the White House now. Donald J Trump is your anointed that you have given to us and the SWAMP has stolen it from your people and those that want America to prosper; your patriots.
We know you have a plan to bring PRESIDENT Trump back into office in your timing only after you have exposed the illegitimate person that is posing to be our PRESIDENT.
We pray for the SWAMP to repent before it is too late. They still have to pay for their crimes on humanity but you would forgive them and they would have a clean heart and spent eternity with you.
We pray justice will be done to anyone that tries to hurt those that are fighting against the corruption in Washington D.C. Put your protection around them and cover them with your mighty angels.
When anyone attracts your anointed, may it backfire on them and let us see all over the world that you are still in charge and only you will determine who the rightful PRESIDENT will be and not the lying media or the SWAMP.
In Jesus Precious name, AMEN

“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.” Matthew 7:1-5

“Therefore you have no excuse, O man, every one of you who judges. For in passing judgment on another you condemn yourself, because you, the judge, practice the very same things.” Romans 2:1

Father, I pray these scriptures over all those involved (to include Chief Justice John Roberts who will not be presiding, but You know this man’s heart) in the impeachment trial set to commence February 8, 2021 for I sense this to be a rush to judgement for “incitement of insurrection” charge without any investigations. This also is seemingly passing judgment without proof first.

Father I pray for those that are flip-flopping, that their eyes will be opened to see truth and their hearts receptive to Your word. So they will no longer be double-minded but to stand strong together and be single-minded.
“If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.  But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind.  That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.  Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
James 1:5-8

Father, I pray and decree Isaiah 7:7 into and over this illegitimate or unconstitutional trial “…….thus says the Lord GOD: “It shall not stand, Nor shall it come to pass.” And decree “For justice will prevail, and all the morally upright will be vindicated.” Psalm 94:15 NET

Father, this impeachment trial is in Your hand for You are a just God and Your justice shall prevail
according to Your word in Job 34:12 “Surely, God will not act wickedly, and the Almighty will not pervert justice.”

and
“Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne; steadfast love and faithfulness go before you. Psalm 89:14

Abba Father, thank You for Your Justice, for You are just. It is part of Your character, therefore You are always just. You cannot be unjust, and You define and set the standard for justice.
Father Your word has been sent to accomplish what You please according to Isaiah 55:11. “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”

Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
In Jesus’s name. Amen.

The world hated Jesus and will hate Christians. The media and politicians have shown this in the past and show it now. Jesus said they “hated Him without cause”. Trump certainly wasn’t Jesus but they have hated him for four years and he did support many Christian principles.

Ohhh but our God! He surely already has the end decreed from the very beginning. Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne and steadfast love and faithfulness go before Him. We must keep our focus on Him and all that He is and trust His plan. A map is a luxury if you trust the Driver! Let’s fill our hearts with praise! He surely has a plan!

Point blank… Leahy has never been a supporter of President Trump. His allegiance, like Schumer, is first to the Dem party, then agenda, then serving the hatred they have and somewhere very low on the list comes what the actual Constitution says. Leahy “fair & impartial” – those are mere words and they have no integrity behind them. Tragically, the vast majority of today’s Dem party could care less about our Constitution unless it protects them in wrongdoing. We have watched repeatedly as they have altered the Constitution with added phrases, out of context meaning and purposeful avoidance of Constitutional law that would “hurt their personal / political agendas”.
**Let us continue to pray for President Trump who did absolutely nothing wrong in relation to this farce impeachment. Let us pray for those defending him. Pray that more legislators would ride up against impeachment. I continue to ask God to even change the hearts and minds of a few democrats and oppose impeachment. I pray that those who are filled with vengeance and hate would fail badly in their quest to damage and hurt President Trump who gave a 150% for Americans and this nation.
God help our nation. Get through the stubborn minds and prideful hearts of those who want to impeach that their actions only serve to further divide our nation. We ask that your Holy Spirit would pursue them with conviction until they listen and respond to your prompting. Amen.

Thank you Cole. Standing in agreement and praying for God’s justice.

My question is how can you impeach a former President? That doesn’t make legal sense.
And how can a Democrat be judge and juror? Ridiculous

Lord confuse those who are trying to impeach our former president. May they have a spirit of confusion and infighting. May their comments and attacks be nonsensical. May they seem foolish in the eyes of all who watch. May righteousness prevail.
