The 2021 legislative sessions have had a record-breaking number of bills to protect children from transgender laws and executive orders. 82 bills have been introduced in states across the nation. Many of them are banning transgender girls and women from participating in female sports as biological males while other sixteen states have introduced bills that seek to ban the use of puberty blockers and gender-surgery on minors.

The Mississippi Fairness Act passed in March. This bill would ban transgender girls and women from competing on female sports teams. Tennessee, North Dakota, and Montana also have similar legislation in progress. “I never imagined dealing with this, but POTUS left us no choice. One of his first acts was to sign an EO encouraging transgenderism in children. So today, I proudly signed the Mississippi Fairness Act to ensure young girls are not forced to compete against biological males,” stated Governor Tate Reeves of Mississippi.
The record number of state bills comes as the Biden administration has focused on advancing LGBTQ rights. A week ago, the state of Alaska introduced a bill that would require schools to assign athletic teams as male, female, or co-ed. The student’s participation would be based on the sex assigned at birth. Arkansas recently signed into law the “Fairness in Women’s Sports Act.” Governor Asa Hutchinson stated, “This law simply says that female athletes should not have to compete in a sport against a student of the male sex when the sport is designed for women’s competition. As I have stated previously, I agree with the intention of this law. This will help promote and maintain fairness in women’s sporting events.”
Texas Senate Bill 1311, which overwhelming passed the Texas Senate on Tuesday, is now waiting for the House Speaker to release it and bring it to a vote. This measure would protect children and ban gender-surgery, hormone therapy specifically for gender change in minors and remove the medical license of health care providers and physicians who perform these procedures on minors. Please pray for Dade Phelan, Texas Speaker of the House. You can contact him before May 25th to voice your support for this bill to be voted on “without delay.” email@example.com (512) 463-1000
The Family Research Council has authored a research analysis on this issue. You can find that document here. The analysis better addresses the psychological and medical issues involved in transgenderism.
