I’m sure that you have not missed the news that a trucker convoy is heading from California to DC in solidarity with the trucker protests in Canada. Just like the Canadian truckers added force to their voices by shutting down the busiest border crossing between the U.S. and Canada, the convoy that is expecting to arrive in DC later this week is planning to shut down the Washington Beltway.
The trucker protests have become a movement in defense of freedom of speech, freedom of religion, and against vaccine mandates and restrictions. According to Lifesite News, it has garnered support from all walks of life: “The truckers and blue-collar workers of the United States will be joined by freedom-loving supporters from all walks of life – front-line doctors, lawyers, first responders, former military servicemen and women, students, retirees, mothers, fathers and children.”
Why, and how, should the community of intercessors in the United States and Canada pray about it? In and of themselves, these protest movements are laudable exercises of free speech in a democratic society that make the voice of large groups of people heard. But they have some, perhaps unintended, effects that can have long term impact on the political, legal, and spiritual climate of our country.
In Canada, the protests led to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau invoking emergency powers, and requiring the Ottawa police to aggressively quell the protests. The Ottawa police then went a step further and announced they would actively look to identify protest participants and follow up with financial sanctions and criminal charges. That led to a significant social media backlash accusing the police of tyranny.
This escalation has led to two troubling issues:
1. Should a democratic government invoke emergency powers to quell protests it deems a threat to itself and set aside constitutional rights of its citizens?
- Should law enforcement agencies be used to squash protests, overstep wise boundaries in the process, and erode the public’s trust in their everyday duty to “protect and serve” the community?
In particular the latter can have a domino effect of deepening and increasing the anti-police sentiment that already exists, which in turn can lead to further restrictions on their power, which can then lead to empowering criminals.
Especially here in the US. Several major cities have seen a dramatic increase in violent crime due to, among others, police cutbacks and retirements, which are in turn the result of anti-police movements that have a demoralizing effect and have increased violence against police officers.
I remember Jesus’ warning in Matthew 24:12 that in the last days lawlessness will increase as love grows cold. The demoralization in many of our nation’s 12,000+ law enforcement agencies, and the subsequent flood of retirements, along with difficulty recruiting new personnel, are removing the restraint on crime, and allowing lawlessness to increase. Trust and support for police and the maintenance of law and order must be restored.
Which brings me back to the truckers arriving in D.C. with plans to shut down the Capital Beltway. It has the potential to result in more confrontations with police, some of which could turn ugly. That, in turn, has the potential of eroding the trust of many in law enforcement even further. I suspect that Satan will seek to exploit the situation in order to plunge the U.S. into further chaos and division and weaken the nation from the inside out.
As intercessors, we are watchmen on the wall. We see the spiritual battle between good and evil behind what unfolds here on earth. Therefore, we must stand in the gap to thwart Satan’s intentions and pray for peace, order, and the presence of God at the protests.
Keep in mind that he will fight hard, because national capitals often attract a strong demonic presence since that is where the powerbase of a country lies, where laws and policies that regulate life emanate.
Also keep in mind that we are seated with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), from where we pray in dependence on His guidance, and out of His authority above all living things, and in the victory already won by Him on the cross (Colossians 2:15).
Here are some suggestions for prayer:
- Pray for peace among the truckers and the crowds they attract.
- Pray that God will bind any spirit of chaos, violence, ill-will, aggression, and division.
- Pray for the message of the protesters to be clear and truthful, spoken in love.
- Pray for protection from any groups wanting to use the protests to stir up violence and aggression.
- Pray for a spirit of agreeable cooperation between the organizers and the police.
- Pray for wisdom for Chief Robert Contee III and his command staff in handling the protests tactfully, diverting traffic effectively, and protecting the good of the community.
- Pray for the Holy Spirit to be poured out on the people assembled and incline their hearts to the Lord in repentance and prayer for our government rather than anger.
- Pray against the schemes of the evil one, that these protests and the involvement of the police will result in a restoration of trust in law enforcement, rather than further erosion.

Before there were automobiles, man used horses. Today, trucks take the place of horses, thus we hear the term ‘ horsepower’ when referring to the power an auto/truck exerts. In the Bible, horses are used in battle.
In Job 39:19-35. Hast thou given the horse strength? …He goes out to meet the weapons, he laughs at fear, and is not dismayed; he does not turn back from the sword. In Proverbs 21:31, the horse is made ready for the battle. And in Judges 5:22, Then loud heat the horses’ hoofs. And we all look forward to Jesus sitting on a white horse at the end of time (Rev. 19:11-16).
So Father God, give your horseman strength and protection through this battleground, and provide them wisdom. There is no fear here, as You have already equipped them to dismantle the plans of the enemy. May the hoofs of the horses be heard throughout this nation and wake up Your Body to profess your Name throughout the land. Let us declare the Victory in advance (look no further than Canada where Trudeau pronounced yesterday that the mandates were rescinded)!!! In Jeus Name, Amen.

Faith is the substance of things not seen… though now we are begining to see. MUCH is being exposed. It must be exposed before it can be removed.
I am praying they will see sense and NOT be part of a false-flag even. This is what happened in Canada. Thousands of unsuspecting truckers & others thought their protest would achieve something positive, but instead, now Canada is openly a dictatorship! LEARN from their example! LEARN from what happened on Jan 6 at the Capitol. All the govt needs now is for these American truckers to “play their part” and the GOVT will seize power just like what happened in Canada! I PRAY THEY WILL SEE THE TRAP before it’s too late!

God sends angels with special orders to protect you wherever you go, defending you from al harm. If you walk into a TRAP, they’ll be there for you and keep you from stumbling. As a Canadian green card holder this topic is dear to my heart for what Father God is speaking to believers.
My family lives in WA state and has been very intent on keeping up with our Canadian family and the truckers. I’m so thankful the honkers have inspired to eagles to rise up for freedom. We pray this leads to a hunger for the freedom only Jesus can give.
I’m thankful for GH15 and Dutch Sheets for the prayer we had today around the world over the Freedom convoy 2022, law enforcement and for peaceful non violent assembly!
Thank you Jennifer and Remco Brommit for your efforts in organizing Intercessors. Here in Grass Range Montana we are into. the Bible study with Rick Barton and its influence on the Constitution. I would like to point out that we have a Republic form of govt if we can keep it and it should not be referred to as a democracy which is a simple majority rule. Kris Anne Hall in her “Genealogy of the Constitution” explains the evolution of our constitution and declaration of independence. Glory to God
ABBA Father thank you for Your Son Jesus Christ who ever intercedes for us as we pray. And we have confidence in You that if we ask anything according to Your will You hear us. And if we know that You hear us whatever we ask we know we have the petitions we have asked if Him. Guide all people participating to have a heart that is humble yet firm in the knowledge of our rights as stated in the constitution. Where the Lord is there is liberty. Send your angels to contend with any unlawful shenanigans. Remove anyone who isn’t united in keeping peace. Use educated people to be speakers and give the ones who will ultimately make the final call over this a heart to protect our nation and do what is right according to biblical and constitutional laws. May Your grace and mercy be over every aspect of this convoy.
Father we come to you in Jesus name and pray for wisdom and peace. Let your Name be glorified above all else. Your will be done. Your mercy shine. Your redemption on display. Dispatch your angels to protect and minister. Minimize the media and their negative coverage. Let the truth that these folk are for peace and freedom and for the good of our Nation. Amen and amen.

May this peaceful protest have ifs’ desired effect in our country and even around the world. May true freedom be restored and government overreach be stopped.
World Prayer Network (WPN Prayer Call 108) includes WONDERFUL prayers for the truckers which we can echo. I especially like Betty Lee Harris’ prayer (at 1:51:40 or so along the timeline) pointing out that caravans have played a big part in the history of the world, like “the caravan that moved Joseph from Jerusalem [Canaan?] to Egypt and he saved the world, the caravan that moved the Ethiopian who brought the treasures of the world from Queen Candace–and You sent Philip and You changed the whole country of Ethiopia through that caravan.”
I can think of others: the caravan which brought the Magi from the East (probably descended, at least academically, from Daniel and his school of astronomers, astrologers and philosophers, who had kept the worship of the one true God and the expectation of the Messiah alive for generations). Even the caravan which carried 12-year old Jesus and His parents and relatives from Nazareth to Jerusalem and almost went back to Nazareth without Him!
And now the unlikely caravans of Canadian and American truckers to their nation’s capitols! Who knows what God will do through them that will reverberate His grace throughout the entire planet!
God bless, protect and cover each trucker and their supporters with his precious blood as they stand for justice in their cause. “no evil shall befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling, for he has given his angels charge over you to keep you in all of your ways.” Psalm 91: 10-11 Go peacefully dear truckers, we have your back in prayer!
Pray that our U.S. truckers’ convoy will be carried out with all the conviction, courtesy, peaceful intentions and positive effect on our country as the Canadian “Freedom Convoy”– positive effects like:
–unity among people of all races, ages, faiths, vaxxed and unvaxxed (in their case in temperatures down to -14 F.!)
–outpouring of solidarity and gratitude and joy from people lining overpasses all across the county, waving national flags, cheering, and even dancing
–unusually low crime and clean cities, as truckers help guard public safety and clean up or repair anything along their procession that needs attention.
— generosity of truckers and citizens toward each other. One woman prepared sandwiches for all the truckers due through her town, only to find out the trucks would not be stopping in that town, so she drove for 2 hours, following the convoy to where they were scheduled to stop–and then fed them. Citizens are donating extra winter clothing and free meals to the truckers and they in turn are not letting citizens pay at check-outs in grocery stores and restaurants.
–National revival fueled by this unity.

Let’s welcome our truckers and celebrate their courageous, humble leadership in our own protest against government tyranny in this country. Pray that the government will not need to step in to prevent violence, that the truckers themselves will provide safety and protection for all those involved. PRAY FOR NATIONAL UNITY, PEACE AND REVIVAL.

Lord I ask for your angels to protect the US Trucker convoy. Let this convoy accomplish your will, for your glory in a manner ruled by your Holy Spirit, according to Your laws. I pray freedom from unjust and unlawful proclamations from earthly authorities. I pray divine provision of finances, food, fuel, and all physical needs. I pray for Holy Spirit guidance, wisdom, patience, diligence, for the the entire convoy, especially the leadership team of the convoy. Bring to the forefront men and women after your heart to lead by example, leading them to a destination you choose. Encamp this convoy as you did the Israelites with clouds of protection and fire. I bind the strongman over Washington DC and over the entire Beltway transportation system. I bind all satanic minions in areas or territory through which the convoy travels, breaking the plans of the enemy for the entire time the convoy is together. I call null and void any plan or work of satan to invoke martial law. I silence words, mutterings, or any communication of violence, looting, rioting, or discord in the convoy’s community. Lord God, let Your fruit be evidenced in this gathering. I call to remembrance 2 Chronicles 20:14-19, The Battle belongs to God.

The world is in a very turbulent state with every country facing their own challenges. The Covid pandemic which is over two years old has affected everything everywhere. And it isn’t just the illness and in some cases death that has affected people…it’s also the ultimate “agenda” to socialism behind it. It really woke me up when our country shut down in less than two days. I feel prayer and faith that God will intervene in each of these challenges is the ultimate answer. He is in control and will have things fall into place according to His plan. I commend our truckers and fully agree with their stand for taking this approach for a peaceful resolution. People should have the freedom of choice…not these mandates that say we must get the jabs, wear masks, etc. GOD bless the men and women who will stand up for freedom. We must all stand together elbow to elbow with them and be heard. I thank and praise GOD that we have this freedom and pray for everyone’s safety.

I have read your call to prayer for the trucker convey. I am a Canadian pastor and it seems ironic to me that while women and girls are being denied education in Afghanistan and many are starving because of an autocratic government, people are running for their lives in Ukraine, Myanmar and other parts of the world, we are demonstrating for freedom from wearing a mask and taking a vaccine that could save the lives of those who are immune deficient. Christ calls us to a higher freedom– a freedom from self-centeredness, from politicization of our faith–to the centrality of love for God and all our neighbors.
With all due respect pastor, this is about medical freedom. If somebody wants to wear a mask or get the vaccine that’s their choice, it shouldn’t be forced on everyone. More people die in car wrecks every year should we ban driving cars? The recovery rate from covid is nearly 99% for most people. This has been a great deception and more about money, control and governmental power through the use of fear to create a mass psychosis in the world. May Jesus protect us from tyranny as the battle for our souls intensifies! May we stand boldly with the armor we have been given firmly in place giving us courage to see past the fear mongering and shine like the Lord has taught us to! Shalom for those in other countries facing great adversity as well. Pray for strength, peace, and protection.

May the goodness of God lead us all to repentance with humility, fervent and effectual prayer, love for You and seeking You with all our hearts, and turning from our own wicked ways, and experiencing Your forgiveness of our sins, and though scarlet, making them white as snow.
Let us all walk in the Spirit with Your word as the lamp at our feet and light upon our path.
As Jeremiah taught during the captivity of he and his people in the foreign land where they were dwelling, let us work for the welfare of our cities.

May the Lord grant all the requests as made in this article, may He go with the American Truckers and stand with those protesting in Canada, may He grant favor to all the truckers and their supporters on both sides of the border.Instead of being at odds let the protesters and police come together in unity. The Freedom convoy in Canada showed the true colors of both the Prime minister as well as of certain ones in Parliament as well some individuals behind the scenes. Their true intentions bode no good for Canadian citizens as a whole. We should pray that God would thwart their plan as only He can. While praying and standing let us remember to give God praise and thanks and glorify His name for who He is.
Our Lord and God will be with them. I pray for our people who are running this for people who are joining up, and for GOOD to win. I know my Lord loves us all and he is our guide and protector. Love to all! Keep praying, God has this!
Praying for Americans to look at the big picture. No country can stand if it is divided. Satan works through division. Let’s pray for unity of spirit in all Americans. As we continue down this road of satanic division we become vulnerable to world powers to take over our country. Living under a foreign power would be the demise of America. I think if the police and truckers do this organized like the walk for Life as the truckers coming in as other “public events“ , there should not be issues regarding the police. And we pray they do 🙏🙏🙏

Thank you for this enlightening article, Remco. I pray for this to be a peaceful protest by these truckers, one that will have much positive benefit Upon our society and government. I bind the attempts of Satan to steal, kill, and destroy. I loose the love of Holy Spirit over the entire situation. Please guide and direct all that these truckers do by the great guidance and direction of Holy Spirit.. I pray that their demonstrations will lead to our government to make positive, freedom-producing changes in their tyrannical policies. In Jesus’ holy name.
If there is a trucker convoy to any city in the USA, they should follow our laws and secure a parade permit and get insurance coverage in place before the event. I’m also concerned about the already heavy traffic in Washington, DC and our other cities on most days. I recommend just driving through with signs and not stopping to tie up traffic for business people, school buses, and tourists. What do you think?
The Constitution of the United States IS their parade permit. How could anyone predict the number of “entrants” in the “parade” or the duration of the event? Instead of worrying about the temporary inconvenience to those who live in the beltway, the American people should be concerned about all of the many, many issues this event is designed to protest. Let’s pray for the safety of all and the success of this protest. It’s always easier to do the “Monday morning quarterbacking” rather than the heavy lifting. Thank God for those who are willing to put their money where their mouth is!
We prayed this morning at our study time about the location of Washington, DC as the destination of the U.S. Truck Convoy. I agree with Penny’s post.
Father, we ask for wisdom and a perfect plan, YOUR plan, for the U.S. Convoy of where to travel and where to end up. We pray all involved in the convoy, those along the way and those assigned in authority to manage the convoy to stand firm but will honor You first and foremost. We know the enemy is working hard to create disinformation and interference. Rebuke and disable the enemy in the name of Jesus.
Father, I pray you will give the Truck Convoy a plan that does not lead them into the “teeth of the dragon’ rather we ask that You would destroy the dragon ridding our country of all oppression and mandates.
Father, we pray that you would pave the way to keep all safe and above all else, Lord Jesus that each will be drawn closer to You as You reveal to many that this is all about, you, LORD JESUS. The intention of this peaceful protest is not about clogging traffic or shutting down the beltway in Washington, DC. or causing any harm to anyone. We pray those who are leading the convoy are listening to You as You direct their way and their routes.
Father, protect them from evil and the evil one.

Praise to our God Almighty for raising up people with courage to peacefully voice objections to the attempts to get citizens used to hiving up their freedoms snd God given rights. May God have mercy on believers since the world seems to be under His judgment for the love of comfort and the rejection of His Lordship.
Praising God for every citizen who is stepping up in faith to fight for freedom. Praying for God’s hand of protection for these and their families. Praying for God’s children to WAKEUP to the evil takeover of humanity that went into full force at the beginning of 2020. Praying for the lost to see and run into the arms of Jesus. Yes, with the stolen election we are beginning to feel the full force of this evil takeover–but it began at 9/11. That is when God removed His hand of protection from our land that had kept us from foreign invasion and domestic war since the Civil War. 9/11 was a warning of judgment to come if we did not repent–and we did not. Lord of heaven and earth, Let Your Kingdom come and Your will be done in this protest and peaceful demonstration. Lord, open the eyes of those who are deceived to see that our freedoms are being stolen away. Let goodness, righteousness, peace and order attend this protest. Be with every trucker, every person who is heading to D.C. to demonstrate peacefully. We ask You to block anyone, including demons, who would infiltrate or instigate unrest. I ask that everyone would kindly obey the directions of the police to keep traffic flowing, to maintain the peace of the city. I declare and decree that You, Oh God, the God of peace would attend this demonstration along with Your Holy angels. Amen.
