I Prayed have prayed
God, we pray that You would stop New York City from controlling our meat consumption! Prevent other states and cities from adopting similar policies, Father!

New York City plans to control and limit meat consumption in public institutions.

From Children’s Health Defense. New York City will begin tracking the carbon footprint of household food consumption and putting caps on how much red meat can be served in public institutions as part of a sweeping initiative to achieve a 33% reduction in carbon emissions from food by 2030.

Mayor Eric AdamsĀ and representatives from the Mayorā€™s Office of Food Policy and Mayorā€™s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice announced the new programs last month at a Brooklyn culinary center run byĀ NYC Health + Hospitals, the cityā€™s public healthcare system, just before Earth Day.

At the event, the Mayorā€™s Office of Climate & Environmental Justice shared a new chart to be included in the cityā€™s annualĀ greenhouse gas inventoryĀ that publicly tracks the carbon footprint created byĀ household food consumption, the Gothamist reported.

The city already produced emissions data from energy use, transportation and waste as part of the annual inventory. But the addition of household food consumption data is part of a partnership that London and New York launched withĀ American Express, C40 CitiesĀ and EcoData lab, CommissionerĀ Rohit Aggarwala from the NYC Department of Environmental Protection announced at the event. ā€¦

ā€œFood is the third-biggest source of citiesā€™ emissions right after buildings and transportation,ā€ Adams said. ā€œBut all food is not created equal. The vast majority of food that is contributing to our emission crises lies in meat and dairy products.ā€ ā€¦

Adams ā€” a vegan who, according to a whistleblower, also eats fish, credits his ā€œplant-based dietā€ for his recovery from diabetes. ā€¦

Adams claims that changing New Yorkersā€™ eating habits will have both climate and health benefits. He said:

ā€œWe already know that a plant-powered diet is better for your physical and mental health, and I am living proof of that. But the reality is that thanks to this new inventory, weā€™re finding out it is better for the planet.ā€

But agricultural economists and regenerative farmers say that calculation isnā€™t actually that simple.

ā€œDifferent meats have different kinds of greenhouse gas footprintsā€ because of differences in the production systems and ā€œall land is not created equalā€Ā Melissa McKendree, Ph.D., an agricultural economist at Michigan State University, toldĀ The Defender. ā€¦

Alternative grazing systems, like theĀ regenerative agricultural systemsĀ that McKendree researches, make it possible for pasture-raised beef ā€œto sequester carbon, and to become a carbon sinkā€ ā€” actually reducing theĀ greenhouse gas footprint of food production rather than adding to it. ā€¦

Will ā€˜meat capsā€™ really lower emissions and improve health?

Mayor Adamsā€™ announcement about the C40 Good Food Cities declaration suggests the city will be serving less meat in the future to meet its 2030 goals. Officials from his administration did not specify the targets or the standards that would be used, but did indicate there would be ā€œcaps on meat.ā€

Kate MacKenzie, executive director of theĀ Mayorā€™s Office of Food Policy, explained that the standards they are developing ā€œset maximums for the number of times that red meat can be served each week and really introduces the plant-based proteins and a floor for that.ā€

ā€œSo itā€™s really the caps on meat,ā€ she said, adding that the city has been moving in this direction already. ā€¦

New Yorkā€™s initiative is part of a broader move by global policymakers toward targeting the food system ā€” andĀ meat in particularĀ ā€” as a source of emissions. Proposals have ranged from anĀ outright banĀ on meat consumption to various types of incentives to minimize meat consumption, encourageĀ lab-grown or alternative meatĀ production to putting extra taxes on meat or forcing animal farmers to stop producing, as in the case of theĀ Dutch farmers.

Meat bans, McKendree said, are ā€œthe most extreme policy [for addressing environmental impacts of meat production]. Think about what we ban. We ban toxic chemicals like Agent Orange and things that we know have those environmental impacts.ā€

She continued:

ā€œBut when we think about making policies, we have to ask, whatā€™s the issue of concern? And we want to try to target that exact issue. So if our concern is reducing greenhouse gas emissions, then put policies in place that directly reduce carbon or greenhouse gas emissions.

ā€œBut banning beef doesnā€™t have a direct carbon or greenhouse gas emissions effect, it creates a reduction in meat consumption.ā€

Instead, she said, policymakers could consider a wide range of other policies ā€” from creating certified products, to subsidies, to taxes, to education through cooperative extension at universities like hers ā€” that would support farmers to produce meat using regenerative practices.

ā€œI think thereā€™s other options and opportunities besides banning or capping meant products,ā€ she said. ā€¦

It’s just another excuse to control something else!! If was a way to control breathing, since it “pollutes” the environment, they would probably want to control that!!
This all has a spiritual root and we need to be praying against that first and foremost!!

This is not lunacy as we see it. It is the first moves toward the global famine that will strike the earth once the redeemed believers are removed and by default the Restrainer.
Can we ask for more time? You bet.
IF God never changes, then we can approach Him as Abraham did.
IF God never changes, then He can cause hardened hearts to prophecy declaring He is who He says He is.
Letā€™s ask Him to spare our nation for 10 righteous people and to give us one more chance to export His Word.

NYC is becoming almost insane. If they want to control carbon emissions, get rid of the corrupt politicians. Lord have mercy. Rather than meat intake, put a cap on the amount of beans consumed.

First straws, then size of Big Gulps, and now meat caps. Lord, please save New York from this governmental power overreach. The United States is the Land of the Free. Through Your great mercy may we stay as such.
