I Prayed have prayed

Pastors who “speak softly” about the brutal murder of more than 60 million children should instead mimic Catholic leaders who boldly challenged racial segregation in the 1950s, said the Archbishop of San Francisco Salvatore J. Cordileone…

Cordileone condemned Catholic politicians who use their platforms…to bolster abortion and anti-life sentiments. Some of the highest-ranking American politicians…proclaim their Catholic “faith” while pushing for abortion laws that go against the church they claim to be a part of.

After the Supreme Court ruled to at least temporarily allow a Texas law that protects babies with a detectable heartbeat from abortion, self-described Catholic politicians openly opposed the ruling.

“I find it especially disturbing that so many of the politicians on the wrong side of the preeminent human rights issue of our time are self-professed Catholics. This is a perennial challenge for bishops in the United States:…we provoked an uproar by discussing whether public officials who support abortion should receive the sacrament of the Eucharist,” Cordileone said…

This summer, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops met to advance a document about “Eucharistic coherence,”…Many ignorant politicians accused the church of politicizing the Eucharist and using the document,,,to deny communion to public officials…who constantly oppose church teachings. The church did neither…

“Abortion kills a unique, irreplaceable human being growing in his or her mother’s womb. Everyone who advocates for abortion, in public or private life, who funds it or who presents it as a legitimate choice participates in a great moral evil,” he said.

When the “blood of 60 million innocent American children cries out for justice,” pastors cannot speak quietly, reducing the murder of babies to a “culture of choice,” Cordileone said. To do so would be going against the church and human dignity…

Do you agree with the Archbishop, that church and political leaders should use their platform to speak for life? Share your thoughts and a prayer in the comments below!

It has been unbelievable to me, over the years, how thousands of pastors have been SILENT, completely silent, about abortion!! They haven’t “spoken softly,” they haven’t spoken at all!! It is unconscionable, it is despicable!! Even some congregations, “don’t want to hurt feelings,” by mentioning abortion! Well, what about millions of babies that have been murdered, and, women’s lives, that have been shattered? What about their “feelings” and their lives??
If every church, every pastor, priest, rabbi, etc., would have spoken up, stood up, years ago, against abortion, abortion would have long been gone!! We HAVE to stop being silent about killing babies!! Look where abortion has brought this country! I firmly believe that is probably the number one reason we are being judged, right now, as a nation! Remember what our Lord said, if anyone does anything to harm one of the little ones, you might as well have a millstone hung around your neck and thrown into the sea and drowned!!
I love children, I always have! They’re special, they’re precious, they’re a gift from God, and I believe that abortion is intolerable and this nation has allowed this atrocity too long!! It is time to say ” NO MORE ABORTION!!”

I Cor. 11:26-29. The church teaches the importance of confession before taking communion, that we come to the table with clean hands and clean hearts. How can someone who believes in and is complicit in killing the unborn , whose hearts are hard toward innocent babies created by God have clean hearts and hands? The bishops and priest have a great responsibility toward the souls of their congregation to lead them, teach them Gods righteousness, not give into their ways just because of their political positions. God is not concerned with their positions but desires that they turn from their wicked ways and come to him.
May he have mercy on their souls.

..and- an child inside its mothers womb is an Image bearer of God,..the most sacred creation in all of Gods created glorious universe..and this crimes against are satancically grusome..I have prayed for many years against this crime,.and prayer and action are what we must do. I thank God in heaven for the Christians Like Elizabeth Johnston, and other Christian activists that are on the ground in the trenches fighting this horrendous and ungodly evil..what is just as bad are corrupted and weak Christians who co-sign this sin with non involved shrugging of their shoulders

I will continue to pray to Our Lord that complacency will be eradicated in Christian hearts and minds and this evil will be removed from our nation, and the world

I absolutely agree. People must be bold when standing up for God and especially when standing for life in the womb. And although the article states Biden and Pelosi are Catholics, it doesn’t matter. Because God will say, at this point, “depart from me – I never knew you”. They cannot even support & stand for the simplest and most basic thing that God gave each of us. The creation of life in the womb. So it’s pointless and doesn’t matter what argument Joe and Nancy try to use… they will be found ‘wanting’ if they continue on the path to death.
Churches and individuals must be bold when it comes to standing up for what God expects us to stand for.
