I Prayed have prayed
God, thank You for all that Mayor Johnson has done for Dallas. Make every American city safer, and give us leaders who honor You.
Reading Time: 2 minutes

The following article, written by Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson who last week switched from the Democratic to Republican party, provides an interesting assessment of the state of cities across the nation.

From The Wall Street Journal. I have been mayor of Dallas for more than four years. During that time, my priority has been to make the city safer, stronger and more vibrant. …

Have you taken your place on the wall?

That approach is working. Alone among America’s 10 most populous cities, Dallas has brought violent crime down in every major category, including murder, year-over-year for the past two years. … We have also reduced our property tax rate every year since I took office, signaling to investors that Dallas intends to remain the nation’s most pro-business city. …

After these wins for the people of Dallas — and after securing 98.7% of the vote in my re-election campaign this year — I have no intention of changing my approach to my job. But today I am changing my party affiliation. Next spring, I will be voting in the Republican primary. …

I have always tried to be honest and say what I think is right for my city. The future of America’s great urban centers depends on the willingness of the nation’s mayors to champion law and order and practice fiscal conservatism. Our cities desperately need the genuine commitment to these principles (as opposed to the inconsistent, poll-driven commitment of many Democrats) that has long been a defining characteristic of the GOP.

In other words, American cities need Republicans — and Republicans need American cities. When my political hero Theodore Roosevelt was born, only 20% of Americans lived in urban areas. … Today, it stands at 80%. As America’s cities go, so goes America. …

Too often, local tax dollars are spent on policies that exacerbate homelessness, coddle criminals and make it harder for ordinary people to make a living. And too many local Democrats insist on virtue signaling — proposing half-baked government programs that aim to solve every single societal ill — and on finding new ways to thumb their noses at Republicans at the state or federal level. Enough. This makes for good headlines, but not for safer, stronger, more vibrant cities. …

[With] my change in party affiliation, I recognize that the number of Republican mayors leading the nation’s 10 largest cities has increased from zero to one. … [The] overwhelming majority of Americans who call our cities home deserve to have real choices — not “progressive” echo chambers — at city hall.

Lord please let the Republican of Dallas lead as a prime example for all cities to follow for so many American cities, who need a strong example to follow! Help this country get our morals and values straightened out by casting our eyes on you Father!

It’s good to praise the Lord for answered prayer. Thank you for the bold courage of Dallas Mayor Johnson to turn from the Democratic party who seem set on destroying all that is good and just in America. Lord, hear our cry for hearts of mayors, and governors, legislators and senators, boardroom executives, corporate media outlets, and pastors to see the devastation the demo-socialists have produced ,and open their eyes to the failures of these men and women who chose to serve themselves and some evil world organization that serves themselves and not the freedom loving people of the United States of America. Break their hearts over murdering babies in the womb, over productive cities turned to trash heaps, over unpunished crime leaving us with lawlessness…..(especially at the highest levels of government). Cause them to repent and change direction, back to a strong Constitutional, God ordained governing. Only You, Lord God can change a heart to desire to please you and turn from evil.

Psalm 7:9 Put an end to the evil of the wicked, but establish the righteous, O righteous God who searches hearts and minds.

Psalm 37:23 The steps of a man are ordered by the LORD who takes delight in his journey.

Haggai 1:14 The LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel,…the spirit of the high priest Joshua…, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people. They began work on the house of Yahweh of Hosts, their God,

“Mayor Johnson lives in Dallas with his wife, Nikki, their three children, William, George, and Lela, and their dog, Penny. He is a member of the Mountain View Church of Christ.”

Dear Heavenly Father, Lord and God, You are the Author of Life. Everything that has breath or existence does so at Your good pleasure. Eric Johnson worships You and I believe You have searched his heart and mind. I believe because of his love for You, his steps are being ordered. I pray You will stir the spirits of other leaders to begin the work of restoration we so desperately need in America. Erics’ church made this statement on their belief page:

“We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ and that every other body is foreign to the will of God through the New Testament scriptures. We believe the church to be not a physical building but the universal body of baptized believers living in relationship and harmony under the direction of the head, Jesus Christ.”

Lord, I believe this too. Please continue to have Your way with Eric and may Your stirring commence in the unlikely hearts of many of our leaders. Thank You Father. Thank You Jesus. Thank You Holy Spirt. Amen

Thank you for this Governor who is making Dallas a better city! May every mayor, Democrat or Republican, have this goal in mind: to make their city better, law-abiding and friendly to business. It is an honor to God to have order in our cities.

Secondly, it is the Republicans that use tax money and recognizing that it is the “blood money” that it is and thus use public funding wisely and judiciously.

Any more, it is the Republicans that advocate for liberty and justice for all

So in other words a true RINO! We do not need more of those! We need true conservatives! There’s no more republicans or democrats, it’s good vs evil now! A dem switching parties will just be another RINO voting for abortion and open borders etc etc! We see enough of that in the people’s house! Enough party affiliation! You’re either conservative Christian or not! Help us God Please🙏
