President Donald Trump created quite a media stir when he stood at the National Prayer Breakfast podium and, in response to keynote speaker Arthur Brooks‘ call to love thy enemies and leave behind thy contempt, said he saw things a bit differently — that it was rather difficult to swallow the bitter bites of fabricated impeachment pushes with a simple shrug and “oh well” hug.

Well, Trump is right. Love does not mean tolerance of evil.

Neither does it mean acceptance of evil.

“I’m a follower of Jesus — the Jesus who taught each of us to love God and who taught us to love each other,” said Brooks, a Harvard University professor, ex-American Enterprise Institute president and author, at the breakfast. He went on, adding that “the biggest crisis facing our nation” is “the crisis of contempt and polarization that’s tearing our societies apart.”

He called for love enemies and prayer for those who persecute. And on that, he’s quite right — that is indeed a biblical command for believers; that is indeed a call from Jesus for those of the faith.

But love and tolerance and acceptance of evil are not the same. And this is where the left not only goes astray, but also exploits.

“I don’t like people who use their faith as justification for doing what they know is wrong,” Trump said, taking the podium after Brooks. “Nor do I like people who say, ‘I pray for you,’ when they know that that’s not [what they do].”

Umm, Nancy Pelosi, anyone?

Quite right.

Jesus hated hypocrisy.

Jesus hates lies and deceptions.

And showing distaste and intolerance for hypocrisy and lies and deceptions is not unbiblical.

Jesus — the same Jesus the left likes to teach as the standard-bearer of love and tolerance and acceptance of all — also turned over the tables of all “who were buying and selling” in the temple, and drove them from the scene, as Matthew recountsJesus — the same Jesus the left likes to trot out as being the face of non-stop, unquestioning forgiveness — also spoke harshly of the arrogant, elitist scribes and Pharisees who “say things and do not do them,” who “like to walk around in long robes, and like respectful greetings” and “chief seats” and “places of honor,” but who behind the scenes, “devour widows’ houses,” as Matthew and Mark recount.

In other words: It’s one thing to love all, pray for all, fervently desire for all to make it to Heaven. It’s another thing entirely to turn blind eyes toward evil and pretend “all’s good in the hood,” while the wicked have their way.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Reps. Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler, Sen. Chuck Schumer and more of the Democratic Party — these were all key players in bringing forth the false, falsified, fabricated and utterly partisan charges of impeachment against Trump. They lied; they deceived; they received media watchdog Pinocchio noses and Pants-on-Fire ratings for their deceptions in the process — a process that really began in the beginning stages of Trump’s White House tenure.

What Would Jesus Do?

Brooks called for love and less contempt. So would Jesus. So would Democrats. But one of these things is not like the other. Democrats, far too frequently, use biblical principles for their own political designs, to advance their own wicked ways.

Love and less contempt doesn’t mean excusing the evil that drove the impeachment process. It doesn’t mean letting the Democrats skate accountability for their lies and deceptions. It doesn’t mean standing sheepishly by as Democrats join in the call for love and less contempt — and then go back to their political offices to plot and strategize and plan their next partisan hatchet attack against the president, absent true cause.

Let’s not confuse love with accountability.

Jesus is love. But Jesus is also truth. Trying to blot out the second as if it’s a show of the first is wicked. And as Trump himself noted, that’s not very biblical at all.

  1. This article makes a good point. This is indeed a spiritual war. There has always a tension between Grace and Truth. Forgiving our enemies is for our own sake, not theirs. If we do not forgive, they will control our minds and our decisions will be tainted. My prayer for our President is that he will see his real enemy is Satan who desires to destroy all of God’s creation. American Christians have come complacent and not paid attention to the warfare, but I believe, the Church is awakening to the reality of the fact, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12 (NIV)
We must win the battle first on our knees and then with our votes.

    Amen! 1
  3. Beloved Watchmen, I’m sure they do pray and sacrifice to (as is and will continue to grow in exposure)and speak… their god and father’s native language… just as Our Lord said, for their god and father is a liar and the father of lies! Now is the time of Judgement… for His Judgements are altogether righteous and merciful… which is their ONLY hope of eternity… that they be exposed and held accountable to the full extent of the Law for their lawlessness. We Agree in Decree So It Shall Be on Earth as in Heaven Father… Your Will Be Done In Jesus Name! ~Selah Praise Yah! ( : )

    Amen! 7
  4. Father we praise Your Holy name and we thank You for giving this great nation a birth. Lord we need You, our marriages, our families, our communities, our government and every aspect of our society. Father we repent of being left astray and we pray for those in the pulpit that lack a right relationship with You. We have voices of religion continuing to be used by the evil one to stir up division in this nation, whether by denomination, color, creed, party affiliation, whatever it is being used to divide. Father we want to be One Nation Under God. We need You to raise up those You will use to accomplish Your will and we pray for spiritual eyes for those that have contempt for this chosen leader of our nation at this time. We pray You draw near and protect him, his family, cabinet and protectors, including patriots working to expose the treasonous work of Your enemies. May You be glorified, may this nation fall to their knees in worship of You, the One True God, and may the nations that serve You stand for Your righteousness, stand against evil of the nations where You are not honored, adored or worshiped. Woe to the nation that mocks our Lord Jesus. May You protect us from evil, and deliver us from temptation and sin through repentance and faith in Christ alone. Amen

    Amen! 39
    1. Father protect us from the evil that is within our nation; deliver us from these blasphemers and reprobates. We know it is not our place to take vengeance, but vengeance belongs to you. Thank you Lord for the victory. Amen.

      Amen! 1
  5. A really good book for all you Christian warrior’s to read is You Are CHOSEN! by Martin Mawyer. He is the president of Christian Action Network. Great organization! You can order it on the website . I just read a chapter that confirms what Ana says about what liberals do to advance their agenda. Folks, this is not new. This was a strategy that the British used against the Patriots fighting for their independence. They didn’t only use violent means. It’s very similar to how the Democrats try to destroy us. Wow! Get the book.

    Amen! 11
  6. Lord, I ask of you to teach us your ways of thinking. Help us to understand your love for all mankind, and yet face the evil that has so taken over our country. Dear God, help us to find that quiet place with You where we can see with your eyes, and feel with your heart and hear what the Spirit is saying to us. May we come to the place of no judgement for others, but see deceived hearts, broken people, and the forces of darkness that so manipulates the lost. Give us the knowledge of Your will, so we may pray accordingly. Lord pour out your Spirit on all of us believers. We need you supernatural power now more than ever. I pray an unleashing of your Holy Spirit. Fill us up, teach us to move in the gifts of the Spirit, all of them. We need Your power to come against this enemy that has pervaded almost every aspect of our society. Raise up more of Your body, call them to this battle. Equip us with the heavenly tools to respond to the enemy in action and in prayer. Help us to walk in Your Spirit and not in our own strength. Use the sufferings in our lives for your glory, to teach us and humble us. We praise and honor you dear God,and our Savior.

    Amen! 22
  7. Father rebuke Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Reps. Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Maxine Waters, the squad, Sen. Chuck Schumer, and all the evil leaders from the Democratic Party, the liberal news media, Hollywood promoters of evil, George Soros and other oligarchs, who scheme, plan, and finance evil. Yes, Lord, rebuke all of the key players who bring forth false, falsified, fabricated charges against President Trump and who stir up hatred and division, and abuse our laws. Hold them all accountable. Bring them all to judgment and continue to defend our President, his family, our righteousness leaders, and have mercy on this nation. Granting that all evil is exposed and our nation repent for the evil we’ve allowed. Help us to surrender to Your will and honor You, defend and protect the sanctity of life, uphold the integrity of marriage, and help us to honor Your image by the holy expression of our genders through righteous and holy laws. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

    Amen! 39
    1. The left practices the policy of personal destruction for anyone who stands for what is right. If the truth of their corruption is exposed they start pulling out scripture to deceive the church. May we wise and united against evil. Don’t let the left push the church into “institutionizing wimpiness”.

      Amen! 22
  8. Amen. Praise the Lord. It’s about time. It looks like, prayerfully, hopefully, finally, the sleeping giant, the Church, the Body of Christ…is waking.

The demonicrats are saying, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve”

Stay the course. Hold fast. “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them…

    ‘Awake, you who sleep,
    Arise from the dead,
And Christ will give you light.’”

    (Ephesians 5:11, 14)

    Amen! 33
  9. Amen and amen! The liberals only want to use the Bible to defend their actions. But, they are not using love in their own daily lives. American citizens have been forced to endure the narrative that it is alright for liberals to do anything to advance their agenda. 1) Maxine Waters called for liberals to make Conservatives lives unbearable. She (and other Democrats) persuaded people to harass Republicans, heckle conservatives in public, spit in their food, run Conservatives out of restaurants and malls, chase down their cars, vandalize their personal property, harass their children at school, and go to the personal homes of Conservatives to yell at them. None of that seems loving to do. Yet, Maxine announced that God would be on the side of all Democrats who publicly harm Republicans. Nancy Pelosi did nothing to stop the Democrats wave of terror, vandalism, and threats. 2) The Democrats thrive off of making money and will do anything to keep their power positions. It Is not loving to try to make Republicans the scape goat for the very sins that the Democrats are committing- Nancy’s son profited well from Ukraine as did Biden’s. Similarly, Al Gore profited off his climate change platform while he was flying around in private jets and tearing down trees to accommodate parking for his friend’s private planes as well. None of their actions suggest that they love the environment. Likewise, none of their actions suggest that they love people more than they love money and power.

    Amen! 28
