I Prayed have prayed
Lord, our nation is in crisis. Our borders are overrun, agents are exhausted, and people are exploited. The Enemy has been infiltrating us at our borders. Please intervene.
Reading Time: 5 minutes

There is so much happening in this nation right now. Often, as an influx of new information comes in, some information can end up discarded as yesterday’s news. But our borders remain in crisis mode. We continue to see record-breaking numbers of apprehensions and getaways. There is still so much we do not hear reported on local media, and there is so much to pray about. Will you continue to pray with us?

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Todd Lamphere, chief of staff for Paula White Ministries and vice president of government relations at CityServe International, was a recent IFA Policy & Prayer guest speaker. He shared insights about the border and about how we can continue to intercede effectively for it.

“Everyone has a lens to view the border through,” he said. “With some, it’s through compassion, and [with] others it’s political, but everyone has a lens.”

Here are some statistics and four “lenses” that every believer can consider and use for prayer.

The lens of security

We are on course to exceed 2 million apprehensions as the springtime sees skyrocketing numbers of border crossings. In 2021, there were 405 Chinese nationals apprehended at our borders. In just two years, we have seen that number rise drastically — to 4,100 Chinese nationals.

During the Obama and Trump administrations, only about five people on the FBI Most-Watched List for terrorists were trying to cross our borders. This year, at least 70 people on that list have infiltrated our borders. As the numbers of related getaways increase, our security risks rise correspondingly.

Pray that those who enter our country with nefarious purposes and who compromise our security will be apprehended and dealt with.

“ … no weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord” (Isaiah 54:17).

The lens of safety

Between 60% and 80% of the females who cross the borders have been sexually assaulted, including those who are underage. Adults and minors have to go through debt assessment to come to the U.S. The criminal cartels and coyotes have to be paid before they will let anyone cross over. This is where human trafficking comes into play, as they have learned that human smuggling and trafficking is more profitable than drugs. Some 75 % of unaccompanied minors fail to report for the U.S. court dates that would place them in the system for social services.

The way it works: At level 1, a minor would be released to a parent living in the U.S.; at level 2, the minor would be released to a family member here; level 3 means the minor would be released to a vetted friend; but with level 4, the minor has no one here, which places these minors at high risk for trafficking. Instead of being protected, they end up in bondage to the criminal cartels and placed in “stash houses” in the cities, from which they are trafficked. The only ones profiting from unaccompanied minors are the criminal cartels.

Pray for those being exploited and trafficked — that they would be rescued from the stash houses and brought into safe havens.

“Because the poor are plundered, because the needy groan, I will now arise,” says the Lord; “I will place him in the safety for which he longs” (Psalm 12:5).

The lens of sanity

Our border agents often spend months away from their own families while trying to keep our borders safe. They are having their rights stripped away. They are being taken off the field and put behind desks or in detention centers. Today, there are fewer than 20,000 border agents. Think about that — fewer than 20,000 agents even as we are on course to exceed 2 million apprehensions this year. The emotional and mental health of these agents is horrendously strained. This past year alone, 22 service members committed suicide. Imagine how hard all of this is for them and for their families.

Pray for these border agents: They are understaffed, underappreciated, overworked, and overwhelmed. Pray that they would encounter the presence and peace of the living God in their personal lives, and that He would restore them.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28–30 NIV).

The lens of the Spirit

The only way we will see any change is if the policies change. And for the policies to change, we must fervently pray. Pray into the policies that affect our borders. Pray for our legislators, that their decisions would proceed from sane thinking that benefits the nation.

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people — for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:1–4 NIV).

We all know the Great Commission as cited in Matthew 28:19, where Christ says: “Go and make disciples of all nations.” This is His calling for every believer. Some will embrace this call and literally go to the nations, but given our present border crisis, it seems the nations are also coming here to us. Todd calls this the inverted gospel.

The inverted gospel is presenting an opportunity to every believer to be the hands and feet of Jesus. What will you do? Will you view these people through a political lens, or through the lens of the Spirit?

Pray that those crossing our borders would learn that Christ died for them. Pray that they might experience the love of Jesus.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another” (John 13:34–35).

He defends the cause of the fatherless and the widow, and loves the foreigner residing among you, giving them food and clothing (Deuteronomy 10:18 NIV).

Let’s pray together now:

Father, we come with a heavy heart concerning our borders. The needs are so great, but You are even greater, so we appeal to You. Lord, we pray over the border workers and their families, that they might meet You. Give rest to their weary souls.

Deliver the orphans and everyone who is being victimized at the evil hands of the cartels. Bring waves of healing to the people who have been sexually assaulted in this vile activity.  Judge the guilty, Lord.

But we pray as the nations keep coming to us that You would help us set aside our politics and just be the Church.

Deliver us from those who are bent on doing evil. Foil every plan of the Enemy that his wicked ones are plotting on our soil. Bring their plans to nothing, and cause division in the Enemy camp.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Father God, I lift up the border situation to you: the border patrol, the illegal aliens, the drugs, the US farmers who are having their property devasted by the situation at the border. Refresh the patrol, close the border door, protect the women and children who are victims of harmful activity, protect the farmers and help them look to you. You can make the situation right, reversing the awful things that are happening. May we as citizens look to you and repent of our unrighteousness before you. We thank you that you are dealing with the situation and that you care deeply about what is happening. Thank you that you are leading us to pray so this can be solved.

Father, we thank You for what You are doing in our nation and the nations of the earth. You will win! We thank You for the role You have given America in this season of time. We are humbled and honored, and see our role as one of “serving” You and the nations of the world. We know full well that it is not to lord over them or arrogantly assume we are the most important. It is a holy and humbling calling. We will never allow it to be stolen.
We know You work on earth through Your people. One of those ways is prayer. So we ask You to finish what You started in judging Baal and delivering us from our shameful alliance with him. Many prayers of repentance and divorcement have now been prayed regarding this. Many prayers re-covenanting ourselves to You have also been prayed. And we are confident…this still works!
Make this evil spirit spit out everything he has swallowed! Punish him! And do as You have promised: Save America! In Christ’s name we pray, Amen.
Our decree: Baal’s hold on America is broken! We are re-covenanted to God.

WE need to look in the mirror. Each of us needs to look in the mirror. WE need GOD to show us the error of OUR ways. We blame illegal immigrants, but WE put this government in power. WE failed to pray. WE failed to attend church regularly. WE haven’t brought our children up in the fear and admonition of THE LORD. OUR neglect of GOD’s ways and GOD’s Word have brought us to this unhappy state. And worse, WE are so self-righteous. Search ME O GOD, and know MY heart. Try ME and know MY ways and see if there be any wicked way in ME. That I may take the plank out of MY own eye and help to remove the mote in the eyes of my enemy.

For about a year now I have been praying what Yehovah God dropped into my heart, binding and casting out demons of sexual perversions and demons of mental illnesses.
Satan has spiritually blinded the masses, I pray for all the blinders to come off, for Holy Spirit to open spiritual eyes and ears so that people can see and hear the TRUTH…that all lies be replaced by The Truth of Yehovah God.
In Yeshua’s Holy Name,
Yes and Amen!

“To An Unknown God” https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Acts+17%3A22-34&version=HCSB
v26 From one man He has made every nationality to live over the whole earth and has determined their appointed times and the boundaries of where they live.
V30-31…God now commands all people everywhere to repent. He has set a day when He is going to judge the world in righteousness by the Man He has appointed. He has provided proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead.”

Psalm 110:1 The LORD said to my Lord: “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”

Hebrews 10:12-13,39 But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God. Since that time, He waits for His enemies to be made a footstool for His feet…we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

I recently prayed a prayer I have never prayed, that America would become a sanctuary (refuge) for persecuted Christians. Yesterday, as I walked a favorite route and as I passed others enjoying the day, I continually heard conversations in other languages. I felt compelled to pray this prayer again. And as I prayed along with Gloria’s beautiful appeal, I add:

Dear Heavenly Father, I believe You are The God who made Heaven and earth. I believe Heaven is Your throne and earth Your footstool. I believe Jesus Christ is at Your right hand. where He waits to place the enemy under His feet. My prayer this morning is for the misery at our border. I pray those who need refuge will receive it here and they are bringing a vigorous faith. You HAVE set boundaries but I ask they be placed on our hearts. I pray repentance flows more steadily than the Rio Grande. And for the enemy who thinks he has control there….You need NO direction from me. Have Your way Lord. I pray in the Names of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit. Amen

Lord through Artaxerxes You sent Nehemiah and others back to Jerusalem to repair the walls and close the breaches and You made a way for the building costs to be covered. I am asking that You will make a way for this to be accomplished at our borders that America will once more be secure.

I pray for the border control agents for their physical strength and their peace of mind that they would not despair at the enormous task that they have been facing during these last two years. Strengthen the governors to stand against the dictates of this administration to see that the walls are built and built in such a way that they cannot be scaled by illegal immigrants.

We know there are genuine asylum seekers and I ask for Your way forward for them to come into the country legally. There is a right way and a wrong way to do this. We appeal to You the God of justice.

Almighty God, please help us and these poor people who are lost, confused, trafficked and abused. Bring Your love, healing and grace to them. Lead them to You. Bring grace and salvation to their nations and help them to rise in faith to be blessed and be a blessing to their families, neighbors, nations and lands. May you send laborers into the harvest. Protect those who are under threat. Stop the illegal trafficking of people and drugs. Thank you God for our border patrol agents, our coast guard and others who work to protect our borders and land. Strengthen them and add to their numbers. Be with the governors and governments of the border states. Give them creative ideas and solutions to pass legislation and to enact solutions for the benefit of Your kingdom purposes. We need Your wisdom. Forgive us for not standing up for righteousness, justice, truth and the needy. Help us to learn from You so that we don’t keep missing the mark. May Your will be done. Please hear our cry and set captives free. May those involved in illegal trafficking be exposed and brought to justice. Oh God, without You we can do nothing, but by Your hand we are saved. Bring revival, an awaking to Your love, life, word and way. In Jesus mighty name. Amen 🙏
