I Prayed have prayed
Lord we pray for America--for young and old alike. For our children and their children that we will learn not only to do battle but to occupy.

The 2011 organizers of the Occupy Wall Street movement understood the importance of occupying—they just didn’t know how to effectively do it. Unfortunately, many of us may not understand  the importance of occupying, as in the Lord’s command to “occupy until I come” (Lk 19:13).

The Israelites had to learn this lesson as well, so the Lord led them into a season of training.

These are the nations the Lord left to test all those Israelites who had not experienced any of the wars in Canaan. He did this only to teach warfare to the descendants of the Israelites who had not had previous battle experience (Jgs 3:1-2).

Those of us who are over forty and grew up in America knew a very different place than what our children now experience. Our parents battled to put a roof over our heads and we, in turn, have battled as well. Although my generation has not experienced war on American soil (other than the 9/11 terrorist attack against us), many of us know the struggle of battle whether that was in school, in our communities, or in the workplace. And while younger generations have faced their own challenges, how they have engaged them is not the same. That must change.

I grew up watching miracles. Did you? We prayed and saw blind eyes see, deaf ears open, legs grow out to the same length. Our children? Not so much. Sadly, that is on our generation. As prosperity in America grew, the need to “battle” grew more distant and so did the strength and wisdom that comes from such seasons.  We shielded our children from the very things that developed our spiritual muscles.

But America is now engaged in battle to maintain the foundation liberty on which we were established—the right to worship God and follow His ways–and it requires all of us working together.

My husband and I led a prayer team of thirty in Washington, D.C. this past week. One of the locations we walked and prayed was Lafayette Square. It has been a much-contested site and represents the conflict in our nation.

If you are not familiar with what has transpired in Lafayette Square, here is a brief history:

The park is strategically located just across the street from the White House. The same group which attempted to disrupt New York with the Occupy Wall Street campaign announced they would take Washington by siege using Lafayette Square as their holding ground, from September 17 through the election. Intercessors across America and beyond began to pray that their ungodly agenda would fail. Prior to the announcement of “White House Siege,” an intercessor, prompted by the Holy Spirit, had already secured a permit for the park for the same 50 days! 50 days of Blessings. What the devil intended as an attack is now a place of prayer—praise and intercession 24 hours a day until the election.

The Washington Siege was never able to launch because WE occupy the land.

When our team arrived at the square to pray, it was peaceful. In the center, a woman led worship on an electric keyboard. Many in our team joined, lifting their voices in praise. Others sat on the nearby benches to pray under the boughs of the expansive trees. In the spirit, all was peaceful even serene.

After several minutes I grabbed one of my team members, “Let’s go back and pray near the White House,” I told her. As we walked past the worshippers and down the sidewalk leading toward the President’s home, the atmosphere changed. It went from peaceful to unsettled, even contentious—not because anyone was saying or doing anything that could be seen, this was all something that could be felt.

We walked up to the fence facing the White House and began to pray. What I didn’t realize is within a few minutes, others from our team came to join us and lined the fence. Another prayer team came to the fence and began to blow their shofar. THAT rattled the demonic walking among us.

A protestor who has had a table and chair erected in the square for years sat in his small stronghold and began to curse. He hurled angry statements against us and against the President. A few BLMers that were present walked closer. We remained where we were, without engaging and continued to pray, decree, and call down demonic forces. Within a matter of minutes, peace came over that back area which had been unsettled and disruptive. Spiritually, in just those few minutes, we had taken the land and it was a tangible Presence.

Not long after, a BLMer walked over to us and asked if we wanted to purchase a Black Lives Matter ball cap. He smiled. He was pleasant. He might as well have asked if we wanted to buy a bottle of water. All combativeness was gone. The others who had inched toward us initially now all backed up and backed away. Mind you we had said nothing to them. We never engaged them in the natural or even made eye contact. We engaged in prayer in the supernatural.

The entire time we were there that spirit of peace remained. But, as I told the team, it’s not enough to take the land. We must learn how to occupy it—and that means not only us, but our children.

This is the importance of this time in history.

The battle in our nation is one in which our children must learn to war and occupy what is won in this season. Long ago, when the Israelites left Egypt, the Lord did not take them directly into the Promised Land because they had no means to take it and hold it. Instead He took them around so that their slavery mindset could be removed. They had to learn to war before they could successfully encounter conflict. Eventually, once they learned to trust Him, He led them where they would face their opposition. But that was only once they were ready.

Like the Israelites of that day, as we face this opposition, I pray we are ready.

Conflict is not fun. It is not something we seek. But in this world, it is inevitable. It is also what makes us strong. It is where we learn to do battle and use the Word as the two-edged sword to develop spiritual muscles.

Right now, we are fighting for our nation at two levels–in prayer and in government. It requires both. But our children must understand this battle. They must learn to war in the spirit in prayer. Some will also take their place to wage this war in governmental positions. Even as we fight to take back our nation in this moment, we, and our children, must know how to occupy.

Are your children engaged on the opposite side of this important battle? Fear not. Call them back. For we have a sure word in this hour which comes from Isaiah 60:3-5: Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. “Lift up your eyes and look about you: All assemble and come to you; your sons come from afar, and your daughters are carried on the hip. Then you will look and be radiant, your heart will throb and swell with joy;”

We are on the verge of revival if we will recognize the time and season of this hour.

This all must take place. This generation who has never experienced warfare must learn to engage and see His victory.  They must see His signs, wonders, and power.

Ultimately, we know this is not just about this election, but for America to return to God. That can only come as hearts are transformed and repentance takes place. But, when it comes, a mighty rain of revival will be poured out. And as my generation saw signs, wonders, and miracles, so now will our children. They will see. And they will learn how to trust, how to battle, and how to occupy.

As we face off for the future of America, it’s not enough that we gain victory and take the land, but that we occupy. If our children do not learn how to battle in this season, they will be unable to occupy after we are gone. This is a conflict not only of the present, but also of the future. Remember, God allowed the children of Israel to enter conflict only when He knew they were prepared. It was theirs to win or lose.

May we recognize that this is where we stand today as we head into this battle on November 3. This is ours to win or lose. It is time to unite, young and old alike, to take the land and occupy.

Father God:
You’re an awesome God.
Your perfect will be done on America. We want America back to You, God so that our children, grandchildren can live free to worship You. Please allow us to teach our children to always draw close to You so that while waiting for the rapture, America will walk according to Your guidance.

In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Thanking Daddy God for His Truth! According to His Word, “ Blessed He the LORD, my rock, Who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; My lovingkindness and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield and He in whom I take refuge…” (Psalms 144:1-2c)

Praising King Jesus Who won the victory! He is our Victorious Champion! Our Warrior God! In Him we move and have our being. By His authority and power, we will occupy. In Jesus Matchless Name. Amen

Father God, let us remember our ancestors who came to this land to freely worship you. These United States was a land dedicated to God by our first pilgrims. This is our heritage…to praise the living God and occupy this land which God has blessed.
Brothers and sisters let us join our hearts, our prayers, our praise and our spiritual weapons to fight for our land and our freedoms that God granted to this nation.
Onward Christian soldiers! Jesus our Savior has already won the battle…now we must defeat the enemy, reclaim what God has given us and occupy our land in Jesus name. Praise God!

All of Gods children need to be praying fervently for our country and the direction it is heading. Yes we need to take back the land. I want for us to again be one nation under God. This election is so important to take back our courts and Godly principles. I pray God will bless our country but we must turn to him. Abortion and same sex marriage is desecrating Gods principles for our lives. God help us if we don’t turn to him.

I always love Karen’s insights and her contributions.

Quick Study (a show on Christian TV and the internet hosted by Rod Hembree) had a quote in 2017- “Get ready. You are on a battleship, not a cruise ship.”

This is our greatest weakness, because the enemy Does teach their side to occupy. We must step up and teach our children.

In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I agree with the message in this word. But I am burdened with the “occupier” who has had a table and chair in this square for years. He needs to be removed and the portion he “occupies” needs to be anointed and reclaimed for God’s Kingdom. He is a plant of the enemy, a source of contention. In the name of Jesus I declare that His table and chair be vacant in Jesus’ Name, and removed from the square, and an anointing of supplication be released over that piece of territory in Jesus’ Name. Let your Kingdom come, Lord Jesus, let your Will be done, on this piece of earth as it is in Heaven, in Jesus’ Name.

Interesting. God is so faithful. I am a children’s pastor and I am in the midst of teaching about the Israelites and taking the promised land. The ‘battle’ is foreign to some kids but I believe when the hard times hit they will remember what God’s word says. We must continue praying for this next generation. Thank you for such wonderful confirming words!

Thank you, Karen Hardin, for writing this piece, for it’s extremely important. I wonder how many others have been looking so forward to this election being won by President Trump and the Republicans, because God is with us and for us. But, as you have written, this is only the first part. We must OCCUPY our land by continuing to trust our Lord and doing battle in prayer. This must happen or else we won’t be taking the land firmly nor will we be teaching our children now to occupy the land. We must fully do our part to the whole degree God has for us. It isn’t His will that the government do this without our help. Let’s keep on keeping on!

Lord God, You have awarded us the weapons of warfare! Help us Lord to gird ourselves up and to gird up our children. Instill in us Your Truth that we may fight our battles on own knees through prayer and the power of Your Word. Let Your Holy Spirit go before us in the houses within our neighborhoods and communities that Truth would be revealed and all corruption and deceit exposed and rejected! Lord, for the hearts of those You love, please give clarity. Bring chaos and confusion to those caught in the lies of the enemy! Lord, please reveal Your presence and expose the darkness to Your great light through Your Church! Jesus, help us to occupy and in doing so to love one another even those who hate us. Please Father, hear our cries and heal our hearts! Bring us to repentance and revival. Help us to return to You that America would be the beacon of Hope through the power of Jesus Christ! In His Name I Pray!

Thank You, Lord, for
leading those faithful believers to Lafayette Square. Thank You for a visible demonstration of salt and light, cities on a hill that cannot be hidden. Lord, let all Your children occupy. And yes, train our children to be mighty in You pulling down strongholds in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for this good report. Thank You, Lord! We praise You for Your power and goodness. Lead us in the way everlasting and teach us every day to walk in the power of Your Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, amen.

This reminds me in scripture where the man was delivered and the enemy came back with 7 more stronger then him to occupy the mans body….we can not do war and then leave the territory unprotected…As just like the man the devil will come to reclaim if JESUS isnt present there…we must in prayer and intercession keep the territory that has been taken ……

Wow, Amen. This article is so on time. Grateful to the Lord for His Word. The earth is the LORD’S and the fullness thereof. Teach us to do battle.

Lord help us to do Your will. Help us to have humble and repentant hearts. Help us to stand up to evil and be strong and courageous. Give us what we need to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Well said, Karen Hardin. Well said!
And to paraphrase Ronald Reagan, “Freedom is only one generation away from extinction.”
It is your article here that explains why!!

Yes Lord we must not just pray and walk on but pray, kneel before our precious Father and call on Him to change the hearts of our children. They are daily hearing the noise, anger, lies of our culture in school, on the social media, and the radio, Tv. Please Lord help us to give guidance to our children and grandchildren and to strengthen them in the Spirit each day. Protect them from the evils of our age.

this is such a powerful teaching and witness. I will be sharing with Tuesday AM prayer group and praying.

Greater is He that is with us than he that is in the world.

Dear Heavenly Father,

I agree with Trudle’s prayer! You are training us to occupy and stand with all our armour. Thank you for Karen’s Washington visit and the visible lesson of “occupy”. Bless each one as we follow you in battle and take and keep land.

In Jesus name and by His blood,

I agree whole heartedly with this teaching and agree even more about our children needing to learn how to war and occupy..
This truth and pray we all learn our lesson well and step out in faith trust and power of the Holy Spirit!
It is time!!! Our God is faithful and He desires to use us to bring HIS kingdom government upon our nation and the earth. May we fulfill HIS purpose and plan to the fullest measure and represent HIM well..
In Jesus name.
HIS kingdom come , HIS will be done on earth as it is in heaven!🙌🏼🙏🧎🏻‍♀️❤️

Our Heavenly Father, thank You for this revelation and teaching by Karen Hardin. Thank You for their prayers at Lafayette Park and the White House. Lord, we give You all the glory and the honour. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven and let Your Kingdom come in this earth. Thank You that like the Israelites we have to see and occupy the land and the spiritual space. Thank You for Ephesians 6 which teaches us to wear the whole armour of God and to STAND. Let us realise that we already stand on victory ground because of what Jesus has done. Send your Spirit of wisdom and revelation and open the eyes of our understanding so that we occupy our position, seated in Christ in heavenly places, far above all powers that are not of God Allmighty. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.

We have to occupy White House, Supreme Court, both Senate and House .

Just let’s look beyond what media so called stars, powerful men organizations say but look at Jesus, the architect and ElShaddai.Surely, fear not, all things are possible.
