UPDATE: A U.S. official confirmed on Friday afternoon that Israel and Hezbollah had agreed to a ceasefire.
Efforts to launch formal peace negotiations between the United States and Iran have encountered an unexpected setback after Iranian officials reportedly delayed their participation in planned talks in Switzerland. The delay comes just days after reports of a memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the recent conflict and establishing a framework for a broader agreement.

While both sides had signaled interest in pursuing negotiations, developments in the Middle East appear to have complicated the diplomatic process.

AP reports the announcement followed a report from Al-Mayadeen, a Pan-Arab satellite channel that is politically allied with the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah, that Iran was delaying sending its delegation to Switzerland over Israel’s ongoing military campaign in Lebanon.
The memorandum of understanding (MOU) that President Donald Trump personally signed “lays out a broad plan to end the conflict and hash out a comprehensive deal within 60 days,” with the U.S. and Iran agreeing to immediately halt military operations while promising to withhold future attacks.
According to reports, Vice President JD Vance had been preparing to travel to Switzerland for the negotiations when word arrived that Iran would not immediately participate. American diplomatic teams, security personnel, and support staff had already traveled to the country in anticipation of the talks.
Iranian officials later indicated that ongoing military operations involving Israel and Hezbollah were a factor in the delay. Additional reports suggested that Tehran wants to see evidence that portions of the recently announced agreement are being implemented before committing to the next phase of negotiations.
The proposed agreement reportedly includes commitments from both nations to cease military operations, avoid future attacks, and work toward a comprehensive settlement within 60 days. It also addresses broader issues such as regional security, economic sanctions, commercial shipping routes, and Iran’s nuclear program.
The delay highlights the fragile nature of diplomacy in the Middle East, where developments in one conflict can quickly affect negotiations in another. Israel’s continuing efforts against Hezbollah in Lebanon remain closely tied to Iran, which has long supported the terrorist organization politically, financially, and militarily.
Despite the setback, neither side has indicated that negotiations have collapsed entirely. Officials continue to express hope that a new date can be established and that talks will resume once outstanding concerns are addressed.
These developments serve as a reminder that true peace is difficult to achieve through human efforts alone. While diplomacy and negotiations can play an important role, lasting peace ultimately depends on wisdom, justice, and hearts that are transformed by God.

If IFA were truly pro-life, it wouldn’t be so war addicted in the Middle East . IFA would be much more hungry for God, not bombs, to quell the evil regimes. The site would mention the thousands of civilians caught in the crossfire and being permanently displaced in places like Lebanon. It would do more to cover the mental health crisis among Israeli soldiers and the plight of Arab Christians and Persian Christians. It would pray for the salvation of Muslims even Muslim terrorists.
IFA would hold Israel to account for abandoning basic moral standards of warfare. It wouldn’t make Israel an idol to be weaponized under the banner of Christ.
Jesus came because God so loved the world (John 3:16) – not just one nation. And without Christ, neither Jew nor Gentile can count ourselves among the land of the living. Both are called to the same repentance. Jew and Gentile.

Dear Father in Jesus’ Name, We give glory and honor to You and trust You to intervene as we lift up our concerns about Israel and the Iran and US’ MOU. President Trump has changed since he met with President Ji. We do not know what transpired on that trip but You do because the President’s plans did not come to fruition as he had hoped. Did President Ji threaten to attack Taiwan if the situation in Iran is not resolved? We have prayed for godly advisors to be surrounding the President however, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner have extensive business dealings with Middle East nations and are these conflicts of interest? You also know the answer to that question. However, two wise Cabinet members, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, were warned by President Trump “If you continue to oppose the agreement with Iran, you will be fired from your positions” (MSN) Hezbollah’s attacks are an ongoing and direct violation of the ceasefire and of UN Security Council Resolution 1701. Instead of disarming and withdrawing from southern Lebanon, Hezbollah continues to attack Israel, Could it be that Iran has been demanding that Hezbollah keep attacking Israel, knowing they will respond, causing this rift between the US and Israel and hinder these negotiations and causing more and more delays? You know the answer. President Trump’s cursing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Vice President’s blasting Israel seem to be the result of Iran’s undermining the situation in Lebanon. It appears that is why they demanded Lebanon is included in the MOU even though Israel and Hezbollah are not a part of the MOU and were not included in any of these negotiations to date. You alone know the truth in all these issues and our concerns. We continue to pray for President Trump’s salvation, that he would humble himself before You, and hear Your voice and know Your will. Please silence the advisors who are not seeking You. Help the President remember the promises he made to the Iranian people who presently feel betrayed and hopeless since they are not included in the MOU. We fervently pray that the President returns to all his initial demands to Iran. Please bring healing and restoration and Your proper relationship between the President and the Prime Minister. Praying our leaders will not be deceived. They will seek God for His wisdom and discernment and listen and do as He directs.
The issue here is standing with Israel. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Ps 122:6. They shall prosper that love thee. Israel must defend itself for there to be any semblance of peace now in the earth. There will NEVER be a time between the devil and a true Christian in this dispensation where we can be passive against the enemy. Just as Israel must defend themselves- we as Christians must stand against the enemy who comes to steal kill and destroy. The spirit of anti- Christ is operating in this earth until Jesus returns to earth to set up His Kingdom here. When they say peace and safety then sudden destruction shall come. I Thess 5:3.
Pray for Pres Trump that his actions and words are standing with Israel and not compromising for a very short term “fake” peace- while the enemy is loading their arsenals. Everytime a President has come against Israel in the name of peace- sudden destruction has hit the U.S.

Father, I pray for President Trump, Pete Hegseth, and the entire Department of War that they be wise and not duped into thinking the Iranians really want to talk. According to Brigette Gabriel, newscaster from Iran and founder of act for america.org, every discussion without action is a feather in Iran’s cap, and an indication of weakness in America. I trust that You are drawing Trump closer to You, teaching him to hear Your voice.

I don’t think the real issue is being highlighted. Iran is not holding out because of superior haggling skills. The example of Persia outsmarting Greece is not the point. How did Persia’s haggling skills work with Alexander of Macedonia? The problem is that there is a superpower in the background propping Iran. That is why they obviously think they are negotiating from strength. We need to factor that into our prayers while not neglecting the points you have brought out.

Let’s thank God that the Navy, Military, and nuclear arsenal, is done. Lets thank God most of their missle sights are identified though they still have some missles to fire. Let’s thank God no boots on the ground. Lets give thanks that the straight is temporarily opened an international oil is flowing again. Lets thank God that President Trump at 80 did not have a stroke with all the pressure he has to sustain. He probably got 3 hrs sleep at best each nite. Yes he swore and it isn’t right. Pressure is an actual physical force. What we do know, is God has certain scriptures that must take place and he will bring each one to pass. Iran, the size of Alaska with all their underground/ under mountains facilities are still no match for the USA. Lets thank God Trump rebuilt the military in his first term and thank all those who were engaged in the air and on the sea to have this all happen. President has the whole cabinet officials and advisors to his side. They must help him to make decisions. He is not alone and we always pray to God for him. But the most important issue is the people of Israel. At this time there are dozens of Hezbollah attacks and repeated ceasefire violations.
The Trump administration may not know or don’t want to know that in numerous incidents throughout the Saturday, the Hezbollah terrorist organization launched more than 50 projectiles toward IDF soldiers operating in southern Lebanon. We need to pray for the Israeli people, they are on their own now, but God almighty will fight for them. Amen.
These attacks constitute repeated and ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement by the Hezbollah terrorist organization. In the end, The IDF will have to defend themselves, and will need to respond to any act of aggression directed against them. May the Lord protect them and bless Israel.

Are we really called to pray for peace as being suggested here? Its becoming clear that our fearless leader is attempting to change the rules as suggested in the imaginary CC fantasy and so a prayer for peace may not be the prayer God expects us to pray. We all need to get back to the roots of common sence which God gave to mankind, and yet we wont use it. Whose side are we on here?
Although we are praying for this peace talks to work out, we should know Iran s too evil not to be trusted. Is like saying satan can be trusted because he can change. The evil of these people is in their blood.

It’s easy to throw your opinion out there when you don’t see the whole picture. President Trump is not doing as you say. Most of his negotiations are multi-faceted and usually turn out differently than one thinks.

I pray that President Trump will stand with Israel and not ask PM Netanyahu to not defend themselves against Hezbollah. That President Tump will do what he said and finish the job in Iran. I think he’s concerned that China who supplies weapons and drones and gets their oil from Iran,
would get involved so he’s back tracking. As Christians we know from Ezekiel 38 that Israel will eventually not have any military help but from God of Israel!

If Iran really is in control of Hezbollah then they need to be told to stop attacking Israel. We trust God. There’s a lot going on behind the scenes so I continually ask God to give Devine wisdom to Trump, Rubio, Netanyahu and all who are dealing with this evil regime.
I approach this problem through the lens of the New Covenant. The new Covenant is made with Israel empowered through the blood of Jesus, the King of the Jews and the Head of the Church. Jeremiah 31, Hebrews 8.8-13. Therefore to be fully aligned with God’s Covenant, one must honor God’s intent to restore and ultimately save the Nation of Israel and the precious blood of Jesus by which we are redeemed and grafted in. The One New Man Is comprised of Jews who have been redeemed by the blood of Jesus and Christians who stand with God’s plan for Israel. As a man I pray that God would empower and help me to be faithful to His New Covenant. I pray the same thing for America. The number one key to American success is to align with, understand, and adhere to God’s Covenant. The IRGC on the other hand believes that they must destroy Israel and rule the World through Sharia Law. They are so committed to this mission that they are willing, even eager to die as Martyrs to accomplish this. Therefore they must be utterly defeated or converted to Christianity. God’s Holy Spirit is moving powerfully in Iran. It is the fasting growing Church in the World. The leaders however have been like Pharoah, hardening their hearts time and again. Trump has eased the pressure on them and now they have one last chance to repent and change. If they don’t I believe they will be overthrown and destroyed for attacking not just the people of Israel, America, and the ME but God’s Covenant. The bottom Line is that God Almighty rules and Reigns over this Planet according to His New Covenant ratified by the blood of His Beloved Son and King. His Will shall be done, that I can tell you.
