“A San Francisco district judge ruled Wednesday that the undercover journalists who exposed the aborted baby body parts practices of Planned Parenthood must pay the abortion giant over $1.5 million plus all of its attorney fees.
Judge William Orrick III of the U.S. District Court of the Northern District of California, an Obama appointee, also prohibited Center for Medical Progress (CMP) project lead David Daleiden and his associates from ever entering Planned Parenthood conferences in the future. (This permanent injunction is based on racketeering laws–RICO.)”

IFA had the opportunity to attend a conference in January about the law and pro-life issues. We learned about this case from David Daleiden’s attorneys. Because of what we learned there, this result is deeply, deeply distressing. It is imperative to pray for reversal on appeal. Here is a summary of what the attorneys explained:

- If this judgment stands, it will be devastating to prolife demonstrators of all kinds. It essentially places “a protective cloak” over abortion clinics.
- In the trial, it was established as FACT that babies were being born alive to harvest their tissue–they cut beating hearts out of the babies, and there was no effective consent signed for this. These things were demonstrated in Daleiden’s videos, which Planned Parenthood stipulated were accurate. Where is the outrage about this?
- Although Daleiden’s work is essentially undercover journalism, no news media supported him. If the result of this trial stands, it will be the end of undercover journalism.
- The trial team emphasized that they felt the prayers of people. Let’s keep praying that this unjust result be reversed on appeal and that Daleiden and his attorneys (Thomas More Society) will have the resources they need to keep fighting.
“The order follows a jury’s verdict in November that sided with Planned Parenthood.
The jury found the undercover journalists violated the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), causing significant harm to the abortion chain with its sting video series. It awarded punitive damages to Planned Parenthood of over $2.2 million.
Regarding CMP’s claim of its First Amendment right as journalists to uncover corruption, Orrick responded:
Defendants’ arguments go too far. Simply claiming the mantel of a journalist does not give someone a license to trespass, illegally record, or otherwise commit violations of generally applicable laws. The “evidence” defendants actually gathered and then published as a result of the conduct the jury found was illegal did not itself show any illegal conduct by Planned Parenthood or plaintiff affiliates.
Planned Parenthood and its media and political allies have continued the narrative that CMP’s videos of its staff engaged in haggling over the price of aborted baby body parts were “deceptively edited.”
However, in January 2019, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit affirmed the videos produced by CMP were not deceptively edited.
Judge Edith H. Jones, a Ronald Reagan nominee who wrote for a three-judge panel, rebuked the lower district court, asserting, “The district court stated, inaccurately, that the CMP video had not been authenticated and suggested that it may have been edited.”
The judge continued that the district court, which had ruled against the Texas Health and Human Services Commission’s Office of Inspector General (OIG):
… felt free to credit all of the trial testimony from [Planned Parenthood] — none of which had been offered during the state administrative procedures — [but] the court bound the IG solely to the administrative record and expressly refused to consider any support for termination “not included in the Final Notice and not part of the Inspector General’s termination decision.”
“Having thus narrowed the evidence, the court concluded that OIG ‘did not have prima facie … evidence, or even a scintilla of evidence, to conclude the bases of termination set forth in the Final Notice merited finding the Plaintiff Providers were not qualified,’” Jones wrote.”

l agree and thanks for your reply. My disappointment with planned parenthood is that these unborn don’t have a say towards their judgement which is against the right of every living being. They are suffering untold pain and many parents suffer regret afterwards which planned parenthood turns a deaf ear too.

We have followed this case from the start, a total travesty of justice, but one expects little from the California courts, State or Federal.
I would hope that Sandra and David would be considered Investigative Journalists, but since Kamila Harris started this case and handed it off when she was elected to the Senate and then ran for President it was laid out to give her the most exposure, and build her credentials.
Poor reasons, but very Liberal, and we must all continue to pray for them, and that this injustice makes it to the Supreme Court, they of course have great attorneys, but these cases are all very expensive to move through the courts. We donate when we can, and pray always that more Christians will do the same.
Please dear Lord help every Christian to help, pray for, and support our brothers and sisters that have the courage to go into battle to save the unborn.

Lord, I pray for David and Sandra, that their persecution would bring such glory to you as they never could have realized when they set out on this journey. I pray that you give them strength like iron and bless them that they are willing to be persecuted for your name’s sake.

I have been praying for Sandra and David for several years. These two brave people have done the right thing in trying to protect the rights of the unborn. Satan cannot have victory in this. Going to church on Sunday is not discipleship, why do you think God Almighty allows the so called cults; because the J.W. & Mormons are making disciples as HE GOD ALMIGHTY COMMANDED. Until the church quits aborting the won’t quit.

Gary, there is NEVER a good reason for an abortion. If a woman’s life is at risk, the baby can be delivered early, by C-section if needed, with the baby given every chance to live. For a woman to be raped, is a horrendous travesty, but this does not justify murdering an innocent baby. If mother doesn’t want to keep her baby, put baby up for adoption. I agree with you 100%. I was reffering to Rhoe vs Wade ruling by the Supreme Court. The news lead people to believe that in the case a woman was raped she would be allowed to have an abortion. Not this blanket insanity! My first wife aranged for my daughter to have an abortion and they did not tell me anything because my wife knew I would adopt the child. This was one of the reason why I left my first wife. Believe me if they would have told me who killed my grandcild, there may have been one less doctor!

I don’t believe the judges actions are as shallow as taking a bribe. The taking of & defending the taking of an innocent life is in direct violation of “you shall not (kill) murder” which means taking innocent blood.
Obviously abortion is the taking of “innocent blood.”
To do so, or to support the taking of innocent blood can only be the work of evil – Satan.
Please pray for this judge & any others of this mind set that their hearts will be softened to the point of hearing God’s still small voice until His voice becomes a loud shouted voice of His command “you shall Not take innocent blood!”

This has been going on for years and years. I am so saddened. Years of praying and sacrifice to stop this horror. Planned Parenthood does not shut their doors. Babies are losing their lives. Good people like David have to suffer loss?

Its an invasive decision by Planned Parenthood or any other medical team, including post mortem, to take ‘body parts’ for their own gain and not by consent. Isn’t that why the Secretary of State offices have a procedure for identifying medical removal of donated organs for science. The practices are contrary to the rights of any of us whom do not want our body parts donated. I pray that the Holy Spirit can divide the wishy washy thinking of the Attorneys. That the sword of the Spirit rightly divides the evil from good to bring wisdom to the conscience of these Judges and knowledge of the offense against our humanly rights.
