God, we pray for an end to dangerous sanctuary policies that harm communities, especially in Virginia. We pray for greater cooperation between ICE and state officials.

Virginia’s sanctuary-style policies are once again under scrutiny after ICE arrested a previously convicted criminal illegal alien in possession of fentanyl, cocaine, and other narcotics. The case is renewing concerns about public safety, border enforcement, and the consequences of limiting cooperation between local authorities and federal immigration officials.

From The Federalist:

“Virginia is a hotbed for criminal illegal alien crime,” Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said in a statement. “Criminals flock to sanctuary Virginia because they know Governor Spanberger and her fellow sanctuary politicians will protect them.”

According to DHS, ICE arrested Eduardo Perez-Legra on May 4 in Newport News, Virginia. When law enforcement searched Perez-Legra after arresting him, they “seized 19.5 grams of cocaine, 101 oxycodone pills, 5 fentanyl pills, and 27 individually packaged suboxone sublingual films.”

Perez-Legra was previously convicted of drug trafficking four times. He also has two prior felony convictions for cocaine possession, according to the agency. The illegal alien from Cuba reportedly obtained a green card in 2004. He was “eligible for removal” after being convicted as a felon in 2011, but instead the Obama administration released him in “despite a Department of Justice Immigration Judge issuing him a final order of removal” in May 2012, the DHS said in a press release.

The arrest has intensified debate over Virginia’s immigration policies under Governor Abigail Spanberger. Critics argue that restricting cooperation between state law enforcement and ICE creates an environment where dangerous offenders can remain in communities instead of being detained or deported. The Spanberger administration may think it’s protecting its constituents’ freedoms, but refusing to work with ICE only puts Virginia’s communities at risk.

DHS also highlighted several additional cases involving illegal aliens accused or convicted of violent crimes in Virginia, including crimes against minors, sexual assault, and murder. These incidents have fueled growing concerns among many Virginians about the impact of sanctuary-style policies on public safety. The repeated involvement of fentanyl and narcotics in these arrests is especially alarming as communities across the nation continue battling the deadly opioid epidemic.

Our nation desperately needs wisdom, justice, and righteous leadership. Scripture reminds us that government authorities are called to protect the innocent and punish evil. This moment should move us to pray for law enforcement officers, for leaders making critical policy decisions, and for the safety of families across Virginia and the nation.

Let’s imagine that there was no police action (ICE or otherwise). Crime would be rampant and our country’s people would become poorer and poorer. We should do all we can to explore WHY the Left is SO intent upon negating ICE (and other law enforcement).

Heavenly Father, You have given each of Your creations a will and the opportunity to use that will for good. Evil should not be determined by a few, nor led by leadership. Where wicked abounds, cause even the most complacent to “no longer” look the other way. Let those whom choose to subvert justice and righteousness come to the end of their false ideologies. Give a voice in every community to sound the call for wisdom, justice and safety. We call upon the name of JESUS to inhabit EVERY community. By Your word, make us new. Direct us back to Your Holy presence and bring clarity in every situation. Contend for us in the spiritual realm and here on earth. Your banner is Victory not defeat, therefore, we press in to Your truth and receive it. Thank You that You still transform us to become more like You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Almighty, Holy, triune God, please grant our lawmakers and enforcers wisdom and discernment as well as the courage to do what is right in your eyes. Show them the best way to eliminate dangerous drugs from getting into the wrong hands, to keep them from being trafficked in our prisons, in school yards, or anywhere else. I pray for a healing of minds, parents who are willing to be parents, to be a guiding light for their children, to keep the lines of communication open, to teach them how to accept disappointments, to trust in our almighty God, who is a giant slayer, a promise keeper, slow to anger, and quick to forgive. I pray for an end to the evils that are being taught in our schools. I pray for leaders who are courageous and determined to do what is right in God’s eyes. Our children are being exposed to and corrupted by the violence, depravity, hate, prejudice, and godless behaviors on television shows, movies, social media, and even in their own homes. When will people realize that we need God? He wants to bless us, but we continue to disrespect Him and ignore His commandments. We are suffering the consequences of disobedience and disloyalty to the one who created us. I pray for struggling churches. I pray that church leaders will stop trying to appease their congregations with seeker-friendly lies. God help us.

It’s disheartening to see criminals go to court only to be turned back onto the streets to continue their criminal activities. It seems only the criminals know how to “work” the system. Meanwhile, innocents who are wrongfully arrested due to having the same name or being wrongfully identified must sit in jail for a month or more and possibly lose their jobs before being cleared. It’s so frustrating to know that not only are you out the property stolen from you, but those same criminals can come back again. I cannot understand why drug dealers, especially, can just walk. They destroy lives by getting our children hooked and turning them into criminals or causing them to overdose. When it comes to illegal aliens who have deportation orders, it’s even worse. No one is safe any longer.

Lord Jesus, I pray that Your will might be done in regards to these “sanctuaries” for illegal aliens who engage in ANY type of criminal behavior, and O pray for wisdom, justice, and safety in every aspect of life in each and every American city. Law and order MUST be maintained. There is no place in our society for unlawful, harmful, or dangerous behavior to be tolerated. Thank You Jesus.
