A newly released undercover video is raising questions about internal divisions within the Trump administration after a White House official was placed on administrative leave for making harsh remarks about President Donald Trump. The footage, captured during a sting operation by James O’Keefe’s team, has sparked renewed debate about loyalty, leadership, and the culture inside Washington.

Benjamin Ellisten, a senior budget analyst and funding manager for the White House, told James O’Keefe’s undercover journalist that Trump is a “madman” who is “f*cking it up for everybody.” Ellisten, who has worked at the White House since 2024, has since been placed on administrative leave, a White House official told the Daily Caller.

“He has no direct access to the President or Senior Staff, and does not work on the White House campus,” the official told the Caller. “Such views expressed by the individual are not reflective of patriots who admirably serve in the Administration.”

Ellisten was caught telling O’Keefe’s reporter that Trump is a “mess,” saying they “gotta get rid of him.”

The undercover footage also included comments from Maxim Lott, a White House domestic policy aide, who described the administration’s decision-making process as “chaotic” and suggested that lower-level officials sometimes act based on what they believe President Trump would want. Lott later defended his remarks, insisting that he remains fully committed to carrying out the administration’s agenda.

The incident has fueled broader conversations about unity and trust within the federal government. Supporters of President Trump argue that unelected bureaucrats and staffers who oppose the president’s agenda undermine the will of voters and contribute to instability within government institutions.
