A notorious hacker group recently targeted the federal government, revealing the personal information of hundreds of federal employees.

Who is praying on the wall?

From the Daily Wire:

In a suspected cyberattack, a shadowy hacking collective has reportedly published the personal information of hundreds of U.S. federal employees, including agents from Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Department of Justice (DOJ), and the FBI.

The leak, first reported by 404 Media, allegedly includes sensitive personal data such as full names, office addresses, and in some cases, home addresses. More than 680 DHS officials, 190 DOJ staff, and 170 FBI employees were affected. Some of the data was shared via encrypted messaging apps like Telegram, where hackers openly mocked their targets and even referenced bounties allegedly offered by Mexican cartels for information on federal agents.

“Mexican Cartels hmu we dropping all the doxes,” one hacker posted, appearing to demand “1m” dollars in exchange for the data. Another post provocatively asked, “U guys want IRS next?” suggesting further leaks may be forthcoming.

The Daily Wire notes that these hackers are believed to be part of a larger, loosely affiliated cybercrime community called “The Com.” The Com is also home to members of groups like Scattered Spider, Oktapus, and LAPSUS$, all of whom have been behind major ransomware and data theft campaigns in recent years.

According to experts, this recent cyberattack marks a shift from financially motivated hacks to blatant political attacks on government personnel. The Daily Wire notes this doxxing incident could lead to real-world harm against federal employees, especially when employees like ICE agents are already facing threats and danger across the country.

Let’s pray for the safety of all federal employees, for these cybercriminals to be brought to justice, and for the protection of our networks and sensitive data!

Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 4:16, Proverbs 5:21-23

Dear LORD and Almighty God, Your Word says trusting is being confident of what we hope for and convinced about things we do not see. It says for us to confidently approach the Throne from which You give Grace, so that we may receive Mercy and find Grace in our time of need. I am doing so today. The cyber crime community is based in wickedness but You are watching, You see all. In Proverbs, I read a wicked person’s own crimes will be a trap as they are held by the ropes of sin. I read that because they have no discipline, their spirits die and their bodies will soon follow… because they are immensely foolish, they wander lost and confused. LORD, our federal agents are tasked with the hardest work, please do not allow the foolishness of the wicked to undermine their good work, their safety and their families’ safety as well. As I approach Your Throne of mercy and grace, I am confident that You can protect each man or woman in harm’s way. I am also confident in You ability to discipline the foolish, untangle them from their ropes of sin and awaken their hearts and minds to Your Way, before it is too late. I ask this and so much more in the Name of Jesus Christ, the ONE these cyber criminals have yet to meet. Amen
