James Goll recently shared about the rise of intercession across the nation and how the role of watchman is of critical importance in this season.
God seems to be strategically calling His people to prayer watches as never before. A little more than a decade ago there were only a handful of Houses of Prayer in North America. Today, there are more than 10,000 Houses of Prayer that combine worship and distinct prayer themes in their diverse watches.
In the United States, numerous statewide solemn assemblies of prayer and fasting come under the umbrellas of: The Response, Awakening America Alliance, OneCry, National Day of Prayer, Intercessors for America, The Jericho Center directed by Dick Eastman and many other ministries.
Then add the diversity of ministries such as TheCall with Lou Engle, Reformation Prayer Network with Cindy Jacobs, Heartland Apostolic Prayer Network with John Benefield, the International House of Prayer—Kansas City with pioneer Mike Bickle, and our very own Prayer Storm with Jon & Jolene Hamill, where every prayer matters. In the Nashville, Tennessee area we have a regional prayer network called Worship City Prayer. In addition to the few I have mentioned, there are also hundreds and possibly thousands of local churches in the nation with prayer calls and prayer rallies.
This is Good News for prayer warriors! There are new recruits constantly being trained. It is a new day with renewed momentum in the global worship and prayer movement!
I grew up hearing different versions of this statement: “When God is about to do a mighty new thing, He always sets His people praying.” If this is true, then the growing numbers of watchmen on the walls today are leading us to the brink of another Great Awakening.
God is choosing and appointing watchmen to make history before the throne of Almighty God. I don’t plan to miss that appointment! I encourage you not to miss your opportunity either.
Surrender to the Lord to be a valiant prayer warrior, seizing your appointment. Decide today that you will enlist—or possibly reenlist—as a spiritual watchman for the purposes of God in your generation. What a destiny and high calling: A Watchman on the Walls!

What a blessing to live during these times. The closer we get to God, the harder Satan has to work. That is totally evident in this country and around the world. Trials always lead us to God for He alone provides the perfect answer. Thank you Jesus!
It is good to see all of these responses in God’s people to pray!! I have not seen it expressed through the churches we have attended in the recent times. We are searching for a church in the area we moved to about 3 years ago whose only heart is worship and prayer. Beginning to feel like that just was not possible, but in what I have just read-there is that spirit out there!! My husband and I pray for these things daily so we will of course continue but it is so much better when there is a “group” (church) of believers seeking repentance and revival for our nation! So much division, ungodly actions-SIN! However where sin abounds, grace abounds much more!!! Thank you for the encouragement!
God has placed such a heaviness on my heart for our nation. As I read these above comments I can see God placing His hand on each one of us for this purpose. Oh, Prayer Warriors, put on the
full armor of God so we can stand and fight this battle that is upon us for the hearts of our people. God will answer our prayers as we faithfully bow before Him in humble obedience to pray for our nation, our government, and the stubborn minds that have not seen the power of God’s love as yet.
I join with you all in intercession for our great nation. God has truly blessed America for years because we have blessed and supported Israel. He is not through with America and her greatest days are ahead as the Glory of God falls.
Big time revival is coming. As Bible prayers did, we need to be confessing our nations sins.
May my God ARISE and His enemies be scattered!!! May my prayers of intercession be instrumental in His Call!
Right now all I can say is wow, Jesus is calling me back to my place as an intercessor. I have and am now walking in a place of healing. In the 90’s there were waves of God’s spirit flowing here in our town. I am so keenly aware of that time as I have read the articles and responses. I believe God is getting ready to do a new thing as well. I believe it is going to be big. At the beginning of this year in my spirit I felt that this year was going to be awesome. I was given one word for the year; diligent. I am reminded of this word almost on a daily basis. So I am focused on this word and what God’s meaning for me is. I am praying now for all prayer warriors to come out from where they have been hiding because we need to praise God and stand tall and strong in his word. It is such a time as this and his promises for us are true. Thank you Jesus. And thank you for this post. Amen

I’ve worked with the people of Manchester KY, when their city and county were transformed and representatives who witnessed the Divine changes there came to my town, and since then, I’ve been praying for a Wave of Transformation to come all across America just like it did there! I believe the miracles of Manchester, which was the first documented transformation of a city in the United States, the was just a glimpse of what God is going to do all across our nation, and eventually the world! May God bless each of you with His wisdom as you pray!

How can we not pray when we find our nation weighed and wanting in the balance?
My heart is burning as I read through the above words . I agree with you 100% on what you have said here . Oh ! how I long to see an Awakening in America !!! In fact i have been called to join God’s heart in this longing since 1990 and have been joining with those who heard the same call to pray more intensively especially lately . Moreover , I have encouraged those around me to join me in this high calling . This is what i do now daily !!! since our nation is in ” “such a time as this !! ” . ( and all nations as well)
I will forward your message to others and hope their hearts would burn like mine ! until we see the fire of God to fall . Oh , may the spirit of Elijah come upon us soon !! ( 1 Kings 18 ).
Oh , may all the altars of prayer meetings in every church be repaired and ready for the fire of God to fall upon the Body of Christ ! Amen .
