Even in a Hurricane, Pastors Are Standing Strong
One Orlando pastor is standing strong in the middle of a hurricane and offering encouragement. Let’s pray with him for peace in the storm.
From CBN News. The city of Orlando may not be on the Florida coast, but it was directly in the path of Hurricane Ian, enduring flooding and powerful winds. As the city begins to clean up from the storm, a local pastor is encouraging those who are facing life’s storms. …

CBN News had a chance to speak with a local pastor, the leader of Nation’s Church Orlando. …
Pastor Russell Benson … still plans to hold Sunday service for the people here in Orlando, saying Florida is going to get through this together and by the grace of God.
“As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ – and the church of Jesus Christ – we have this amazing peace that gives us the strength during and after the storm,” Pastor Benson said.
“Even as I’m talking to you now, I want to encourage you that God is with you even in the middle of the storm. No matter what your trial – it may be a physical hurricane or it may be something spiritual in your life that you’re going through.”
The devastation is far-reaching and we will see more over the next few hours and days as Operation Blessing begins to help those most affected by the storm.
Are you encouraged by Pastor Benson’s words? If so, share this article with your friends and family to encourage them as well!

I confessed to Almighty God that I didn’t know how to pray for the victims of Florida’s hurricane. The usual strength, perseverance and faith seemed such a cliche that I couldn’t bring myself to utter the words in face of the magnitude of loss, displacement and disconnectedness. Since Our Lord knows their individual needs before the people can focus on what comes first, I have been asking Him how and what should I pray for them. I feel some shame for not knowing instinctively what I should pray so I ask Him to reveal His love with special manifestations customized for each person, as only He can do. That by His special infusion of determination, grit, resolve and even a measure of peace, shattered lives will mend quickly by His Mighty Power. THEN, that very supernatural healing will be a testament to His awesomeness at all times in each one’s journey. God deserves some radical testimonials when folks are able to put events into perspective and share just what was accomplished in Jesus Name <3<3<3
I just got through reading Mario Murillo’s newest blog, ‘Are We Cancelling?”. He and Lance Walnau have scheduled a 2-day event this month called Fire and Glory in Estero Fl, right where the hurricane hit hardest. They’re not cancelling! They see this as God’s perfect timing for a great awakening in that area, as well as a fulfillment of prophecy. (Read his blog at mariomurillo.com) Multitudes of people are in great distress and will be open to the gospel.
Heavenly Father, in the mighty name of Jesus we ask for a great outpouring of Your Holy Spirit and power on the Fire and Glory event. Draw Multitudes to Yourself for salvation and healing. Awaken all of Florida, and make them a mighty army for You in these last days.
For the glory of Your Son and Your Kingdom, Amen!
Pastor Benson is doing exactly what Christ commissioned us to do. We are followers of Jesus and do not act or react the way the world does. Be strong and of good courage. We are praying for the people of Florida, the volunteers, the medical teams, rescue teams, utility teams, ministry teams, etc. as they deal with the aftermath of this storm. May God bring beauty from the devastation and glory to His name. Hallelujah!!
Praise God for Pastor Benson and the willingness on his part to step out in faith to reach the residents of Orlando. I pray that You raise up many Christian pastors and leaders to respond to the End Time events that will accelerate as time continues on. Each catastrophe is Holy Spirit’s opportunity to prepare us for what will happen next. Lord, please help us, as Your remnant , to seize the opportunities that You give us to be your hands and feet to a dying world around us. In Jesus’ name.
