Biden’s Solution for Gas Prices–Buy Electric Cars
As gas prices continue to rise, putting unnecessary strain on American families, the Biden administration seems reluctant to help. Based on their own words, this seems to be a larger push toward renewable energy at the expense of the American taxpayer.
From Breitbart. Gas prices are “unsustainable,” but there is no “quick fix,” Biden’s Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm said this week.
“I mean, I think the prices are unsustainable for many people right now. I mean everyday citizens who are on fixed incomes, paying huge amounts of money that they had not anticipated or budgeted for just to get to work,” Granholm said during an appearance on CBS Mornings.
“It is unsustainable for many and unfortunately, there’s not a quick fix. However, your point about also accelerating our progress toward clean energy is very, very important,” she added, suggesting that the current situation poses an opportunity to advance the Biden administration’s green initiatives.
On that same front, National Climate Adviser Gina McCarthy recently suggested that Big Tech should step in and censor individuals who oppose President Biden’s climate change agenda.
Granholm, however, also made waves this week after asserting that rising gas prices serve as a “very compelling case” to purchase an electric vehicle….
Granholm’s remarks come nearly a month after a contentious exchange with Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) during a hearing last month, where she continued to deny that the Biden administration had anything to do with rising gas prices, telling the Republican senator, “you can thank the activity of Vladimir Putin for invading Ukraine….”
From The Epoch Times. The Biden administration’s climate czar, John Kerry, proclaimed that despite record-high gas prices, the United States doesn’t need to drill for more oil or natural gas.
Speaking during a forum, Kerry said that Republicans and some analysts have suggested that “we need more drilling” and “we need to go back to coal.” He then argued: “No, we don’t. We absolutely don’t….”
Kerry’s comments come as data from auto club AAA shows that the average price for a gallon of gasoline remained steady at $5.01 nationwide. California is still leading the way with an average price of $6.43 per gallon. No other state has reached $6 gas so far.
Because of the elevated prices, Republicans and oil industry executives have suggested that the Biden administration’s policies are at least partially to blame. President Joe Biden issued a series of executive orders last year, including suspending the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline, suspending new drilling on federal land, and ending federal subsidies for fossil fuels, among other orders.
Democrats and Biden, meanwhile, have said the high gas prices are caused by the war in Ukraine, often blaming the spike on Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, gas prices and year-over-year inflation had been rising long before the invasion in February….
