The Miami-Dade school board in Florida recently unanimously approved the Nation Day of Prayer, encouraging students in the county to pray.
From Doral Family Journal. National Day of Prayer, to be celebrated on May 5th, was unanimously approved and recognized by Miami-Dade County School Board Wednesday night.
Established in 1952 when it was first honored by presidents, governors and legislators in the United States, this day has granted a space for people to come together and pray for the nation’s leaders. However, up until now it hadn’t been recognized in any school board.
“Prayer and religion has been taken out of our education system a long time ago,” Christi Fraga, School Board representative for District 5 and the person behind the proposal, explained.
But now with the approval of this agenda item, students are encouraged to organize and have a day to pray together as a community for its leaders….
“My belief is that this is one step in the right direction to restoring certain values in our education system that has been ripped away from our students,” Fraga adds, who also shared her gratitude towards the Christian Family Coalition Florida and all those who spoke at the School Board Agenda Meeting on social media. “This was a United Effort.”

This is a very positive step that confirms that the LORD is answering our many prayers over the decades. When I attended elementary public school in New York City in the late 50’s, we opened the day with the Pledge of Allegiance and a short innocuous prayer that only asked for Wisdom and protection for the teachers, students, and families represented.
Father, we continue to plead for a Great Awakening in our wayward nation. Remove the curse of abortion from our land; protect our children and families from the drug and sex trafficking scourge that is amplified by the open southern border; and reveal and end the corruption that pervades our government at all levels, our education system, the medical establishment, and our compromised media. Your Holy Will be done in our nation and the world community, in Jesus’ Name, AMEN!

It’s my understanding there is no place in the constitution that’s states anything about separation of church and state ??
I am certainly very encouraged to hear that prayer is allowed in the schools again. It means that our prayers are being answered. However, here where I live, the schools seem to be more interested in instilling in the students everything other than what the Bible says. For instance (transgenger students being allowed to room with students who are biologically opposite to the biological gender of the transgender student; allowing literature that entices sexual exploration beginning in the elementary school level, etc.). These things actually dismiss (without them actually saying so) all godly training that the Christian children have had throughout the years in their homes. We need to pray that the schools begin to align with the Kingdom of God. However, I also believe that parents need to find ways to protect their children from the underground indoctrination that is going on. I firmly believe, they need to remove their children from these schools if they intend to protect their minds from this onslaught. This is what we had to do years ago for our own children and we do not regret it at all.

As a Floridian, I grew up believing in the power of prayer! Now, living in Hawaii I am praying that prayer will again be recognized in our schools for the safety and protection of our children.

I vividly remember being five years old ..in 1959-, when prayer was taken out of schools.
It was announced by the teacher that morning-,that. the morning news had announced it. This was in Florida. I am 68 years old.
Interesting that it came out of the South.
Lord God thank you so much, as we know that the slightest crack in the armor of the enemy.. will allow a powerful ray of light to get in- and a root of Truth as well.
And, no matter the length of the battle.. or the duress of the challenge, we ..must stay focused.
I must remember-, that at any moment the holy spirit’s force of goodness could burst through the enemy’s stronghold. Thank you Lord and praise you for this great advance. In Jesus mighty name, amen
It isn’t that it came out of the South. It’s that many Northern liberals move to Florida when they retire and some before that and they brought their liberal ideologies with them. Unfortunately, a large part of those people were/are Jews. Many of them to this day resent Christianity because they’ve been lead to believe it was us who persecuted them & agreed w/ Hitler. They are slowly being turned around & learning from other Jews & from Christians that WE are not their enemy, just the devil, who does his dirty work through unbelievers.
This is AWESOME! The glory of the Lord will cover the earth as the water covers the seas!

Praise the Lord! May this sweep out country. I am in my 80s, and I remember giving devotionals in schools and having prayer and pledging allegiance to our flag. Observe how we have deteriorated since. Out went God…in walks satan. Lord, please have mercy on us……
I think it would be so wonderful to bring back Prayer within schools. It would start the day for students out right and adding the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. It would show so much inspiration back in the schools To God and Jesus Christ and teach students so much nd evilness took out of schools. This is the way I was taught many years ago.
I teach at a local Highschool. Many of the students r disrespectful during the AM silent time (prayer for some). They play their phobes and carry on. Many also won’t stand in respect for the flag salute. I pray that God takes the scales from their eyes and they see truth.

Praise God, PraiseGod.- Jesus listens I am thankful that God uses our Prayers not only Change circumstances but to change us. Psalms 62:8 urges us to Trust God at all times and pour out our hearts to him. Jeremiah -29:12:13 The prophetic Jeremiah assures us: “ You will call to Me and find Me when you search for me with all of your heart” Let’s us fulfill these Words and make it a dedicated practice to search Gods heart and bring back one-off the greatest Tools given to us which is specific prayer. Prayer back in schools, prayer back in work places, prayer back in homes, churches. I remember in the 80,s my daughter had a prayer room in the school she attended for others to join her. Let us bring that back. We have the miraculous help of The Holy Spirit. Let’s make this a priority essential So other schools will catch the Fire 🔥 and our dreams of what God can do will come to pass. Thank you Miami Dade school board. Trust that God will lite the Fire if we act. God says children will lead in the last days. I pray for all States and schools will start standing for prayer and petition back in schools, school boards, God will bless those who Bless Him. Let us take back the schools with prayer. You do not need to pray long prayers, just praise Him and thank Jesus for just listening to your thanks then He will give you words to say. Praying for Miracles . God is so good

Growing up in a school that had prayer and the pledge of allegiance every morning gave me such peace as a child. Standing up next to my desk with my hand over my heart —gave me such purpose and peace.

Wonderful, positive news – someone has to have the courage to be first, now hopefully other school boards will take note, take heart and also be bold enough to allow the freedom of prayer in public schools. My wife and I were public high school teachers in Berwyn & Cicero, Illinois (Cook County). We advised student Bible clubs, many events, all under Illinois School Code/Laws. Dot the I’s and Cross the T’s. We had resistance to be sure, So what? Sometimes vehement, usually from isolated staff or parents. Great time to teach kids how to press into God, Love, Forgive, and Pray. After all Stephen was stoned and so was the man at the coatcheck, Saul! (If course things changed after Annanias and the street called ‘Straight, right Paul?)
Prayer is nothing less than Intamacy and Dependancy on Jesus at all costs. We prayed all the time and listened for that still small voice, still do. The problem with Public Schools they are Secular in their activity, a magnet for every ideology opposed to Christ! Nothing new for the devout follower of Christ.
My wife, myself and several othe Believers lived out our Christian walk and were most Beloved by our students. Living testimonies as it were, not trying to prove anything, It’s Jesus Christ who came to seek the lost! We’re just foot soldiers in the Kingdom. Actively clandestine. Faceless.
So, did we have other weird clubs and ongoing stuff? Sure! America is not the Church or The Body of Christ! We both have many stories concerning power encounters with darkness. All to take us deeper in Christlikeness.
We prayed all day, every day, and no school board can deny us that, our human spirit did not belong to them, it belongs to Christ. We were never abandoned or alone. Discipleship begins in the home. As teachers we knew which parents were working overtime, our students reflected home.
In all this? PRAY!
Ask, and keep on asking,
Seek, and keep on seeking,
Knock, and keep on knocking!
We’re followers of Jesus afterall.

I remember when prayer from the White House represented the foundation of our established government / the God of our Bible whose first commandments are to have no other gods before Him. Yet from the White House Rose Garden , Muslims, Hindus along with Christian prayer was offered during Trump’s presidency. We are a Christian Nation with Judeo- Christianity roots. I don’t think our God was pleased with those prayers. What say you?
