I Prayed have prayed
Lord, help us use the gifts we have to bring the lost to Jesus.

Some time ago l, I was sitting at my table with my Bible opened, praying. I was seeking a word from God. I felt very discouraged, heavy, frustrated, and even anxious. I knew what I was feeling was not of God. If you have been feeling this way, you are not alone. Recently I have talked with other intercessors and they have felt worn out as well.

In my daily Bible time, I am now studying the book of Exodus. The Lord spoke from his Word, giving me an exhortation that reflects where we are now.

God heard their groaning, and he remembered his covenant promise to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He looked down on the people of Israel and knew it was time to act. (Ex 2:24-25)

In a time of prayer the Lord revealed that He is “hearing the cries of his people.” There is a cry rising up before the throne of God. It is the sound of those who are crying out for justice. There are cries of those who cry out day and night for the shedding of innocent blood (abortion), global cries from our brothers and sisters in nations where persecution is growing worse. There are cries from believers who are  hungry and desperate for a move of a God. We are in confusing and dark times right now, but this means we have an opportunity to be light in the darkness and messengers of hope in the midst of chaos. This is a time to act.

In Exodus, God heard the groaning. He looked down and he knew it was time to act. God could have dealt with Pharoah immediately; however, when God decided to act, he pursued Moses in the wilderness and called him to be a deliverer of his people. Moses tried time after time to get out of it, but God wouldn’t have it.

While reading this, I sensed the Lord speaking through this and He asked me a question: “What’s in your hand?” I immediately recognized this as a Scripture, so I kept reading and found the exact verse: Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?” “A staff,” he replied. (Ex 4:2)

I believe right now the Lord is asking his Body, “What’s that in your hand? What do you have that can bring Jesus to people?” Romans 12:6 tells us God has given us different gifts for doing certain things well. If he’s giving you the ability to prophesy, speak. If it’s serving, serve. If it’s teaching, teach. In other words, use what you have in your hands. I’m going to go a step further. If you are an intercessor, intercede. If you are creative, create. If you are a blogger, blog. If you are a writer, write. If you are a podcaster, make podcasts. If you have a large social media presence, use your influence for the Gospel. It may not seem like it, but people are listening and looking.

During times of darkness, people are most receptive to the Gospel, because they are looking for “good news.” Just look what happened after 9/11. The churches were full, salvation was abundant.

God further lays out some important points for us in his dialogue with Moses. In Exodus 4:10-14, we see that Moses pleaded with the Lord, “O Lord I’m not very good with words.” But a few verses later the Lord said, “Go. I will be with you.” He sent Moses’ brother Aaron along with him because Aaron was an eloquent speaker.

Some things God spoke through this are:
1) God doesn’t want excuses right now. Now is not the time to hide and make excuses. Now is the time to arise and shine because the Lord is with you.
2) God will align you with the right people to accomplish His will. Maybe some people from the last season aren’t with you now, and that is okay. They were for a past season. Just as God brought Aaron alongside Moses, God will put the people you need alongside you to partner with you and go the extra mile.
3) Your age is NOT a factor. Moses was 80 years old when God called him. Do not let your age be the excuse to run from your assignment. Jeremiah tried to tell God he was too young, but it didn’t change God’s mind.
4) Don’t argue with God. Moses didn’t argue with Pharoah when God sent him. He simply did what he was told. You will face opposition. Don’t argue. It can be a fruitless distraction. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant arguments; you know that they breed quarrels. (2 Tm 2:23)

I’m not exactly sure why, but many in the church have been silenced. Maybe it’s fear of persecution, maybe it’s a fear of being “cancelled.” Let me remind you, we may live in “cancel culture,” but the Word of the Lord can never be cancelled. The Enemy can try (and is trying) to silence believers, but we have a promise that the word of the Lord endures forever. (Is 40:8). We have another promise that the word of the Lord will never return void (empty). (Is 55:11)

The word of God is like a seed, it produces fruit whether you are aware or not.

So intercessors, brothers and sisters, I leave you with the words of God to Moses, and also to you.

“What’s that in your hand?”

When you discern the answer, rise up and do what He tells you to do.  Now Go! I will be with you as you speak, I will instruct you in what to say. (Ex 4:12)

Yes, Thank you. People are looking for “good news”. I almost forgot. The influx of bad news can make us forget that there are multiple times more people out there who want to hear that God is on the move in spite of what we see with our eyes. I notice where ever I go, doctor or store, people respond to those words, “God is doing something great. Watch and see.” They even respond to, “God bless you.” When someone sneezes now, I go overboard with “God bless you with wisdom and good health, and all those great things.” It puts a smile on their face and they usually say thank you. It almost always leads to questions and a chance to witness. I’m 74 and now too old to care what people think of me.Should have learned that when I was young. We may have to wear masks, but that can’t stifle our voices. Thank you Gloria and IFA for this fresh reminder to stay tuned in to good news and spread words of life. All Praise and Glory to our Father who is on the move!

I have read the replies. They are just great. Thank you Lord for the encouragement they give me. I too get weary, and sometimes hopelessness tries to creep in. It is all so “BIG”.

God has showed me through the Word when I am faithful to feeding on it, and I have to admit I have failed to do that many times. Forgive me, Lord. Anyway, when I feed He shows me that when my arm gets tired as Moses’arm did holding the staff, God will let me rest awhile and provide another’s words or presence to keep a’goin.

Two weeks ago, I was feeling discouraged about all the evil within our borders and God gave me the Christmas Hymn, Joy to the World. I thought that was odd, since it is June… but none the less, I focused on those verses from the Hymn and was SO ENCOURAGED!

My favorite verse that stood out was, “No more let sin or sorrows grow, nor thorns infest the ground, He comes to make His blessing flow, far as the curse is found!”
So no matter how bad the curse is, our Father Longs to make His blessing flow over it!!!!

The other verses encouraged me as well….
Joy to the World the Lord is come, let Earth receive her king. Let every heart prepare Him room and Heaven and nature sing!

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns, let men their songs employ, While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains, repeat the sounding joy!!
Let’s join with all creation and sing His JOY!

Lastly,
He rules the world with truth and grace and makes the nations prove, the glories of His righteousness and wonders of His love!
The nations are proving His righteousness… may we display His wondrous love to those in our midst!
God is at work and He is coming again, Hallelujah!!

Battle fatigue! As an Intercessor I encounter this many times. Great Word for us from Gloria. And remember “ they that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.” Isa. 40:31.
Strengthened by our unity!

Thank you Gloria for this timely reminder and encouraging words. It’s also very comforting and strengthening to read the thoughts and prayers of fellow believers here. Thanks to IFA for offering this platform where we can experience oneness in Christ knowing that we are not alone, and be encouraged and empowered to continue to focus on our victorious Lord Jesus and engage in the war wherever God has strategically placed us. Lord Jesus, help us to be faithful to Your calling, draw us each day to come to You first to receive the ammunition we need for our daily battle so by the end of the day we can stand firm and be victorious in Christ. In Your precious name Jesus I pray, amen 🙏

I am an intercessor and am alone here in Austin,Texas. I’ve been unable to find an authentic Spirit-filled church body. I am starving for godly connections.
I listen to Dr. Charles Stanley everyday and read and study the Scriptures in his writings.
If anyone could help I would appreciate it.
I depend on special bus to get around.
Thank you for this powerful ministry.

I’m praying for you MaryAnn. There have been times I have been out of fellowship as well, it can be difficult and yes lonely too. Keep praying and I believe Holy Spirit will lead you. I am drawing a blank right now, but i do know of a few spirit filled churches in ATX. One is Cathedral of Praise, one starts with Grace, and I can’t remember the third. I’m very sorry. But I really do hope you find somewhere to connect. Even if it’s not in a church for now, maybe godly friendships as well.
I’m glad this encouraged you. God Bless.

I was really moved by her article in the last IFA new letter and have shared it with many people. Was about climbing a mountain with great difficulty and when she finally reached the destination she found herself in the presence of God Almighty. He was calling her to intimacy. I carry that article in my bible. This article again got my attention. I know my gift is to encourage and I call myself a connector. so may we use our gift to its full capacity. He will often remind me of Ezekiel and how he was to share what God gave him. If he shared he was not responsible with what the person did with it but just to share it. If he did not share it he was responsible for disobeying and he would be held accountable. May we not grow weary and faint hearted in well doing. That was a good word for all of us.

This is t a day you do not bow, tho the fire rages high. Run to the battle and speak My Word. Carry his flag] NO COMPROMISE]. God has not changed His mind.. Take your lesson from the boys in the fire..Keep your eyes on the Most High God.. He’ll see you do not burn! The Lord has given this to me for such a time as this.

Great article, and much needed. I felt at 66 that maybe it’s time for me to wrap up the missions work I do for my church, as I have never had many who were interested in working alongside anyway, and one just dropped out. As a Body they are very supportive but it does get to be a lot when you feel you are on your own a lot. This was just what I needed to read, as we prepare for a Missions SUnday and to energize those we support. Thanks so much!

I AM NOT GOOD WITH ELOQUENT WORDS LIKE OTHERS I KNOW, BUT BETTER AT EXPRESSING MYSELF THROUGH WRITING. IN RECENT MONTHS I HAVE HAD THE URGE TO SPEAK UP AGAINST THE EVILS WE SEE AROUND US. GOD IS PRODDING ME AND THANKFULLY I AM REACTING. WHERE DO WE GO AS A GROUP OF CHRISTIANS TO SAY WE DON’T WANT THE STATUES TAKEN DOWN, IF YOU TAKE A STATUE DOWN REPLACE IT WITH A STATUE OF CHRIST. SADLY OUR COUNTRY DOESN’T ALLOW IT IN PUBLIC PLACES, WE ALL AS CHRISTIANS NEED TO DO AS WRITTEN ABOVE ‘RISE UP AND DO WHAT HE TELLS US TO DO.’ I FEEL PRIVILEDGED WHEN GOD CALLS ON ME ON BEHALF OF HIM. THERE IS MORE GOOD IN THE WORLD THAN BAD….AND MORE GOOD IS COMING.

Several weeks ago I had a fun dream. I was walking on water, following Jesus. He was in the distance but He left His footprints in the wake! I was like a child, laughing as I walked- hopped, putting my feet into His footprints, like when it snows and you step in someone else’s prints. I know I was laughing and as long as I looked ahead and saw Him in the forefront and my feet in His footprints I never sank. I sensed that He was smiling as I was hopping from one footprint to the other. It speaks to me of where I and maybe others need to be. We will sink if we are not looking ahead at Jesus and walk where He leads. I know He will always catch us like He did with Peter and it’s so easy to get pulled under. We are not meant to know every detail of every worldly event 24/7. The world is a swirling sea of misinformation, false information and nonsense, but as we seek God, Praise, worship, commune, and Thank Him I believe He will lead us to walk on water with Joy! It goes against every natural and earthly inclination and as we go I believe others will want to know, how, why, etc! I wanted to share because it was joyful, fun, and Filled with laughter not fear.

A month or so back, I had a rush of weakness, stomach dropping, dizziness whirling around me, loss of balance, out of nowhere. At first I thought it was food poisoning, had that before. Yet my spirit was not agreeing with that thought.

Then I had the thought “curses of iniquity”, then the experience got worse. Moments earlier I had been repenting of the iniquities of my family, the church, the nation. Then the Lord revealed, “this is witchcraft”.

Afterwards, this was a daily occurrence, I was in a zone through my prayers. Soon, a friend shared about Liluce and Fire departments being cursed openly by witches throughout the land.

Running to the secret place, “a curse cannot land”. I appreciated the assault as it helped to fine-tune my intercession, though it is weary at times.

We must birth a new church through our warfare intercession, in our war room where we receive our orders, leave the results up to God.

I am dealing with issues of control & manipulation that work in me through fear, intimidation, misplaced hope, etc., anything that can open the door…to every evil thing.

    June 23, 2020

I absolutely agree that we need to birth a ‘new church’ through warfare and intercession, in the war room and yes, where we will receive our orders. Yes and yes we leave the results up to God.

The church needs to wake up and take her stand. We need to recognize that church as we have known it is dead and newness of church needs to come to life.

Forget the programs. Forget the set service patterns. We need to be quiet and LISTEN to what Holy Spirit is speaking to the people are His and the ACT upon His instructions.

There is a song by Michael Card, Will You Not Listen which I tried to paste the link but couldn’t. If you can, find it and listen to it.

Also, Jesus tells us to be careful how you listen, he who has ears to hear, do not harden your heart, Woe to you, etc.

We must know we deserve nothing in this life, it’s all about the blood!

We studied Romans for 3 years as a church, now in Luke since the 1st of the year (only Ch.8), shoring up our foundations in discipleship these past 47 years as a church, preparing to be poured out as a drink offering upon the Harvest which is before us.

It has been a difficult season watching one crisis after another unleashed on our country. I feel strongly that every one of these is but a distraction. I say this because the reaction to the initial problem is much greater than the problem itself. The Russia collusion hoax, the Ukraine incident and subsequent impeachment nonsense, then the corona virus reaction to shut down the entire country. And now the riots and complete hysteria with the death of Mr. Floyd. The media uses all of this to create chaos and division. It is clear to me the over reaction is a coordinated effort by the enemy. What is the purpose? I believe it is 2020 election. It matters who is leading our country and who is making laws, and who interprets the law. The enemy is desperate for power and will do anything to get it. It wants control. So the enemy does what it can only do, and that is deception. The father of lies is like a magician, using distraction to keep people from finding the truth.
Well, enemy, you are now being exposed, and the truth is being revealed. As the light shines on your misdeeds, you become more extreme to cause more chaos, hoping the people will stay in the deception. You have unleashed, fear, hate, and greed on our nation in a desperate attempt to try and convince that evil is good and good is evil. Yes there is much more going on, I am sure. But if we as a unified group of Christians can walk in the Spirit, we can defeat this enemy, remove it influence, and enter into a season of rebuilding our nation to bring back law and order.
Dear Father, thank You for this encouraging word in this article that gives us direction to become effective In our fight against this enemy who wants control over our nation. Lord teach us how to put the full armor on every day and how to war in the Spirit to accomplish the defeat of this enemy. Lord when we make mistakes, gently point us back in the right direction and may we learn from experience and become wiser in our actions. Help us to stay focused on You when times get tough and may You fill us with hope and faith and most importantly love for others. Lord, I sense it’s going to get crazier as we head toward November, but I have confidence that You will be with us, guiding us daily. I pray peace, comfort and rest for all believers responding to the call from a God to be a warrior in this frey.
