A coalition of conscience
Until the Ancient of Days came, and a judgment was made in favor of the saints of the Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess the kingdom. Daniel 7:22
On January 22, 1973, in the landmark case Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court ruled that women in the United States have a fundamental right to murder their unborn children. Since then, the lives of over 62 million babies have been aborted. Shortly after the Roe verdict, Derek Prince began to meet with a handful of leaders to organize a collective response to counter the Court’s assault on life. As a result, Intercessors for America (IFA) was formed. That same year, Prince also authored the book Shaping History Through Prayer and Fasting, which laid out the principles upon which IFA was founded. This was the book that provided the inspiration and vision of TheCall and the Bound4Life movement, now led by Matt Lockett in Washington, DC.
Several months before TheCall DC on September 2, 2000, where 400,000 gathered to pray and fast on the National Mall, I was privileged to meet with Derek Prince. I thanked him, as a son to a father, for giving me the vision of united prayer and fasting. I will never forget how he laid on the bed in his hotel room, surrounded by his team, and began weeping with great heaves. At that moment, I realized I received a father’s blessing and had taken up the father’s cause: 1973 – reverse Roe.
The day before TheCall, my friend Dutch Sheets challenged me concerning the busyness of the agenda that had taken shape for the gathering. I went back to my DC condo and wept in anguish before the Lord, asking for His agenda alone. Suddenly the Lord spoke to me, “Psalm 82” i.e. God judges the judges. The next day, as we prayed for the ending of abortion and for the Supreme Court, I believe a heavenly court case was inaugurated. Now, twenty-one years later, it is being driven to a conclusion. On December 1st, the U.S. Supreme Court will hear the Mississippi case, Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, that will directly challenge the foundation of Roe.
It has been nearly fifty years since that infamous decision. Close to fifty years of silent screams from the unborn rising before the court of heaven. Fifty years of prayers from the saints being heard and recorded in the books of the Supreme Judge. It may be that we have come to the moment, similar to that which was seen in Daniel 7:22, when the court is seated, the books are opened, and judgment is pronounced on behalf of the saints of the Most High.
Earlier this year, the Justice House of Prayer in DC spent several months praying for a Daniel 7:22 verdict to be released through Mississippi’s abortion case. We were stunned when the opening brief for the case was actually submitted to the Court on 7/22 and their argument had been refashioned to challenge the very root of Roe. This affirmed our belief that God is looking for the Church to respond at this moment, standing with Him in the court of heaven to release a decision in favor of His saints. The ekklesia on earth must agree with the Divine Council of heaven.
Several years ago, during Justice Gorsuch’s confirmation hearings, we received a dream in which we were told, “You’re believing for one judge, but you need to believe for five.” Now, with the recent nominations of President Trump, we have a core of five judges who could potentially rule against Roe. Yet, Bob Jones once told us that when justices are seated in these positions of authority, they come under a portal of intense spiritual warfare where demonic forces seek to influence them beyond their natural inclinations. He charged us with the need to shut these demonic portals and to bring the influence of the Holy Spirit through prayer.
The loud and boasting horns of the demonic voices of Daniel 7 seek to prevail over them, but the ekklesia must cut off the horns of the wicked and exalt the horns of the righteous. Psalm 149 gives a clear description of our warfare with which we can contend for these five judges: Let the high praises of God be in your mouth and a double-edged sword in your hand… bind their kings with fetters of iron; To execute on them the written judgment – This honor have all His saints.
Brothers and sisters, it is our privilege, as the saints in Daniel 7, to use our spiritual weapons of worship and declaration to bind kings and to execute the judgment God has written. By revelation, the Lord led us not to bind the principalities and powers in this case, but to bind these five conservative judges into a coalition of conscience from which they cannot get free.
So, we bind Justice Thomas, Justice Alito, Justice Gorsuch, Justice Kavanaugh, and Justice Barrett into this righteous coalition. We pray that they will not be seduced by demonic thought systems, but will be held to the very thoughts of the court of heaven concerning this case.
Also, in Matthew 5:25 we’ve been instructed to settle matters quickly with our adversary who is taking us to court. Our adversary has had a massive accusation against this nation with the blood of over 60 million babies crying out for justice and judgement. We agree with our adversary regarding this offense. However, the Lord has given us a 22-word prayer that settles this accusation with the blood of Jesus. Bound4Life has been mobilizing this prayer since 2005. For seventeen years, millions of pleas have been made before the heavenly court, praying:
Jesus we plead your blood over our sins and the sins of our nation. God, end abortion and send revival to America.
We believe the sound of heaven’s gavel can be heard in this hour. All rise! For the Judge has come into His chambers. Therefore, from November 22nd to December 1st, let us bring our case before the Judgement Seat. For these ten days, let thousands ascend to His throne pleading the blood of Jesus. Daily, in the power of His name, let us bind these five judges together in a coalition of conscience. Lastly, may we pronounce in faith our agreement with His favor that has been granted us through His blood, and may we execute the judgement that has been written against abortion until Roe v. Wade is no more.
_______________
Prayer: Father God and Ancient of Days, we exalt You as the ruling Judge over all mankind. Thank You for your loving kindness and abundant provision in the sacrifice of your Son which alone has rendered for us atonement for our personal and national sins. In Jesus name, we seek Your verdict of justice in favor of the saints regarding the overturning of legalized abortion in America. Would You grant now a restraining of all forces of darkness empowering this unjust bloodshed. To this end, we plead the precious body and blood of Jesus Christ and ask, in response to our accumulated pleas, petitions, and unceasing tears, for the annulment of every covenant with death and hell represented by the scourge of abortion. For the sake of Your glory and Your inheritance we pray. Amen.
