In these days of turmoil for Christians worldwide, we need more than ever to understand the power God has provided to us to overcome and act boldly. The people of Afghanistan are heavy on the hearts and in the prayers of intercessors.  Recently, IFA has highlighted the public demonstrations of grace and extraordinary collaboration by many Christian humanitarian aid organizations and brave individuals who are delivering rescue and relief efforts for those fleeing the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Sports celebrity Tim Tebow recently joined Samaritans Purse (an IFA partner organization) to help aid the people evacuated from Afghanistan. “Samaritan’s Purse has been partnering with organizations on the ground to get men, women, and children out of this horrific situation. We have been able to sponsor flights that have brought hundreds to safety—one of our partners made three trips that brought out 700 people in one day! We have also supported the evacuation of 80 missionary families via land routes.” Also, Glenn Beck and David Barton both are working with the Nazarene Fund to rescue persecuted Christians and other refugees from Afghanistan. Nazarene Fund raised over $28 million for rescue operations in Afghanistan.

Kenneth Copeland Ministries allowed Glenn Beck and David Barton to borrow their jet which carried them and their crews to the Middle East to evacuate Christians in Afghanistan. Intercessors for America’s new initiative, Pray and Act USA: Afghanistan brings attention to ways intercessors can deliver prayer and action to the continuing crisis in Afghanistan, focusing on the Americans and allies left behind. As an intercessor as you pray and act I want to encourage you from God’s word, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you” (Dt 31:6).  It is important to accept the reality of the challenge, then ask God how to take it from there. His Holy Spirit will guide you into appropriate spiritual action.
