Jewish lawmakers across America are sounding the alarm over what many describe as a dramatic rise in open antisemitism and violent threats targeting elected officials. Members of Congress from both parties say hateful rhetoric that once existed on the political fringes is increasingly becoming public, direct, and dangerous.

From the Daily Wire:

Jewish members of Congress and political candidates are facing an unprecedented barrage of direct and violent antisemitic threats that have drastically altered their day-to-day lives and personal security.

Lawmakers from both parties say that the traditional era of veiled dog whistles has been replaced by a shocking level of hate speech delivered through official office lines, social media platforms, and direct mail.

Lawmakers have shared graphic communications, Axios revealed. Rep. Jerry Nadler (D-NY) reportedly received a letter praising Adolf Hitler alongside a drawing depicting him being shot in the head. Rep. Greg Landsman (D-OH) said callers told his office that he ā€œshould just go die,ā€ while Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) received voicemails warning that ā€œa real holocaust will take effectā€ and threatening that Jewish lawmakers would be ā€œshot dead every f*cking day.ā€

The threats described by lawmakers have sparked growing concern on Capitol Hill and across the country as antisemitic incidents continue to rise nationwide. Several members of Congress now require heightened personal security measures, including armed protection, police monitoring, and metal detectors at public events.

Political leaders from both parties have warned that hateful rhetoric and extremist ideologies are increasingly being tolerated or amplified in mainstream political discourse. The article highlights examples of antisemitic remarks and controversies emerging from both the political Right and Left, fueling concerns that longstanding cultural taboos against antisemitism are eroding.

The issue comes amid broader tensions surrounding Israel, rising political polarization, and growing extremist rhetoric online and in public life. Many lawmakers argue that party leaders and influential public figures must do more to forcefully condemn antisemitism and prevent dangerous conspiracy theories and hate speech from spreading further.

As intercessors, we must unequivocally reject antisemitism and pray for the safety of Jewish communities and leaders throughout America and the world. Scripture reminds us that every person is made in the image of God, and hatred rooted in prejudice and violence has no place in our nation or our politics.
